Formal Uniform Wearing the School Tie
The tie is a formal item of the school uniform, and therefore needs to be worn correctly. It increases the formality of the uniform and is not considered a casual item of uniform.
The school tie is an optional item, except for certain students and certain occasions e.g. prizegivings, student leaders representing the school.
By purchasing and wearing the school tie students agree to wear the tie correctly, as specified by the following regulations.
Orange Tie - Everyday tie: For senior students, including formal occasions, school leaders etc. Orange ties are available for purchase by senior students.
Blue Tie - Representative tie: For students representing the school at events e.g. First XV Rugby, Senior A Netball, special off campus trips - Maths Competition, Speech competition, etc Blues ties will be issued and loaned by the school to students, for the specific event.
As a general rule, ties are to be worn with full formal dress uniform.
Boys: Wearing school trousers, White Senior Shirt neatly tucked in With a jacket if possible. Tie length: just on or above the belt line

• The tie must always look smart and not detract or draw negative attention to the uniform. • Ties will always be worn on the white Senior School shirt. If Middle School Students are to wear the tie then they will be issued with a loan white shirt. • Ties need to be kept clean and tidy looking. Frayed and marked ties, should be replaced. • The length of the tie is generally on or just above the belt line. • Ties should not be worn with shorts. • All other aspects of the uniform need to look neat and tidy e.g. black shoes that are clean.
