Jade Flower Gallery

Jade Flower Gallery aims to make links between artist’s and collector’s imagination. Because we believe any artwork itself is an invaluable language and help us understand the world surrounding not only artists but also viewers.

We are very delighted to present Yang Okkyung’s works at Asia Contemporary Art Show 2018 in Hong Kong. The ‘Big Data’ and ‘Hologram Cosmology’ are great examples of this imagination-linking idea.

In ‘Big Data’, she elegantly suggests three different emotions of her imagination, which are hidden inside of the shape of objects and delicate strokes of marker pen as we have numerous implications in our language. We could not say Yang and viewers of her works have exactly the same imagination and share it. But this imperfectness leads us to wonderful opportunity of communication and desire to connectedness.

In ‘Hologram Cosmology’, she depicts the universe we are living in, which shows her unique perspective with diversified coloration. The theory of hologram universe has been reinterpreted through her inimitable mind and will wait for visitor’s interpretation as well in Hong Kong.
