The Joker is the main archenemy of Batman and was first introduced in the issue #1 of Batman in 1940 and was created by Bob Kane, Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson.
The Joker is a master criminal, sociopath and a mass murderer and throughout his comic history he has caused Batman and many others a lot of problems. In Detective Comics #168 from 1951 he was revealed as a criminal known as Red Hood and the story was that he fell into a Vat of chemicals while escaping from Batman and emerged with a white face, green hair and a strange grin.
The Joker has appeared in many comic books and graphic novels but he has also appeared in many animated cartoons, movies, TV shows and Movies and still continues today. In the 1960s Batman TV Show starring Adam West the Joker was played by Cesar Romero. (above) Then in 1989 Tim Burton made the Batman movie and had Michael Keaton play the new Batman for the Big screen Jack Nicholson (left) tasked to play the Joker and made it a great performance.
1 Then in the 2008 Batman movie franchise with a new Batman now played by Christian Bale we got to see an Oscar winning performance by Heath Ledger as The Joker and still remains the greatest Joker seen on screen.
But now in 2016 we will get to see another version of The Joker played this time by Jared Leto (below) in the Suicide Squad movie released in cinemas on the 5th August 2016 and this time its a movie based on the bad being the heroes and we will get to see Harley Quinn, Deadshot and others all together on screen in a Bad vs Evil event.
This brings me onto a new animated movie also coming out on digital, dvd and Blu Ray called The Killing Joke released on the 5th August some areas on 8th. This is based on the amazing Graphic novel from 1988 and stars Mark Hamill again as the voice for The Joker in which we see the Joker shoot Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) and kidnap Jim Gordon and taunting him and trying to make him go insane.
The Joker has appeared in many Comic Books and graphic novels but has also been in many Animated cartoons, Movies and TV shows well as computer games like the Batman Arkham series and Injustice Gods among us. There are many lines of merchandise too available like T Shirts, toys, statues, and much much more.

The Jokers true name has never been revealed still to today.
The Joker Murdered Jason Todd the 2nd Robin.
The only Love interest for the 1 Joker is Harley Quinn.
