Central District Engineer Bureau of Engineering pkt:wof.Ol (213)482-7030 cc: Construction Services Center, Counter 23 Bureau of Street Services Administration ADAM WEST Over the span of a 50 year career, from BATMAN to the voice of Quahog's. mayor on FAMILY GUY, Adam West has become a television lCOn. Born in Walla Walla, Washington as William West Anderson , Adam began his career as a radio DJ and TV show host. He arrived in Hollywood in 1959, after landing a contract with Warner Brothers studios. That same year, he made his feature film debut opposite Paul Newman in THE YOUNG PHILADELPIDANS. A long line of TV roles followed on shows like MAVERICK, BONANZA, and THE OUTER LIMITS, as well as a co-starring role for a season on THE DETECTIVES. But, in 1965, his life would change forever when producer, William Dozier, impressed by Adam's talent, looks, and humor, handpicked him to take on the title role of ABC's new TV series, BATMAN. It's been said the biggest pop-culture phenomena of the 1960's can be boiled down to the "Three B's": Beatles, Bond, and BATMAN. In the early 1960's Batman was simply a cartoon character in a comic book that was close to cancellation, but Adam West's performance in the ground-breaking TV adaptation propelled Batman into becoming one of the most famous characters in modem fiction. West's turn as the "classic" Batman has laid the foundation for the success of all the incarnations of the "Caped Crusader" that have followed after him. The smash success of the TV series, and the feature film that followed shortly thereafter, launched Adam West into international superstardom in 1966. After it's original run, BATMAN entered into non-stop syndication and Adam West has continued to gamer new generations of fans all over the world for the past 40 years. All the while, he's continued to work on stage, in movies and TV, and as a much sought-after voice actor. It's his wildly successful career as a voice actor that has brought him his most recent triumph as "Mayor Adam West" on the hugely popular, and critically acclaimed, TV series FAMILY GUY on the Fox network. For the past 50 years, Adam West has not only been an international television star, but also a devoted father and husband, philanthropist, and dedicated ambassador of goodwill for the entertainment industry as he greets hundreds of thousands of his fans during personal appearances all over the globe. ·k *.-:1: ·"¢::: * * * .UOLLVWOOD WALK OF FAMr; March 9, 2012 Mr. Gary Lee Moore Public Works Engineering Att: Lemuel Paco 201 N. APPENDIX CBSC Decision 10/11-2201 Global re Family Guy (“Stewie B. Goode”) The Complaint The CBSC received the following complaint on July 23, 2011: Hello, I am complaining about a program Family Guy on your cable 211 HD Global TV using extremely adult language definitely not suitable for children. Words such as “porno”, “bitch”, “bastard”, “shaving privates” were used and much more. It was on at 5:00 pm Saturday channel 211 HD on Global TV. I would request that you review this episode called "Peter's Two Dads" [sic, the episode was in fact entitled “Stewie B. Goode”]. I would ask for a prompt reply as this is totally unacceptable. Broadcaster Response Global replied to the complainant with a letter dated August 16: We are in receipt of your letter via the CBSC regarding Global Television's broadcast of Family Guy on Global CHAN-TV on July 23, 2011. In your letter, you expressed concerns about “extremely adult language” used in the program [and] felt the content was inappropriate for the time of day it was broadcast. Let me begin by saying that, as responsible broadcasters, we are sensitive to the members of our viewing audience and we apologize if this program has offended you. I assure you that it is neither Global's nor the producer's intention to do so. Under the Broadcasting Act, broadcasters are required to provide a broad spectrum of entertainment and information programming for “men, women and children of all ages, interests and tastes.” Television programming is required to be diverse and appealing to a wide range of audiences.

  • Adam West Became TV's Batman After Producers Saw Him As Captain Quik
Adam West Became TV’s Batman After Producers Saw Him As Captain Quik Each year on September 27th folks enjoy a tall, frosty glass to celebrate National Chocolate Milk Day. An Irish physician named Sir Hans Sloane is the inventor of chocolate milk. Doctor and collector Sir Hans Sloane created the concoction all the way back in 1687. Sloane brought back his chocolate milk recipe with him back to England from Jamaica, where it was manufactured and sold as medicine. According to some historians, the Jamaicans were brewing “a hot beverage brewed from shavings of freshly harvested cacao, boiled with milk and cinnamon” as far back as 1494. Chocolate has been known to humans as far back as 350 BC. Europeans had known about chocolate since 1502 when Columbus brought it back from his conquests in the Americas — although it wasn’t until Cortez pillaged the Aztecs in 1516 that Europeans actually figured out what to do with cacao. Chocolate milk can boost calcium and vitamin D, which research shows are important for preserving cartilage and joint health. Research has found that cacao actually contains antibacterial agents that fight tooth decay. The problem is that the things that are added such as sugar and milk can still cause cavities. Drinking one large glass after you work out will boost muscle growth and speed recovery. There are 5 milligrams of caffeine in each mini carton of chocolate milk. People think chocolate milk comes from brown cows? According to a study, 7% of Americans think this is true. John Cadbury, and sons George and Richard, later purchased Sloane’s milk chocolate.

  • Family Guy” 1
Michael Fox MC 330:001 TV Analysis “Family Guy” 1. Technical A. The network the show runs on is Fox. The new episodes run on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. central time. The show runs between 22 to 24 minutes. B. The show has no prologue or epilogue in the most recent episodes. The show used to have a prologue that ran about 1 minute and 30 seconds. It also has an opening credit scene that runs 30 seconds. It does occasionally run a prologue for a previous show, but those are very rare in the series. C. There are three acts to the show. For this episode, Act I ran about 8 minutes, Act II about 7 minutes, and Act III about 7 minutes. The Acts are different in each episode. The show does not always run the same length every time so the Acts will change accordingly. D. The show has three commercial breaks. Each break is three minutes long. With this I will still need about 30 pages to make sure there are enough for the episode. 2. Sets A. There are two main “locations” in the show. These are the Griffin House and the Drunken Clam. The Griffin House has different sets inside and outside of it. For example, there are scenes in the kitchen, family room, upstairs corridor, Meg’s room, Chris’ room, Peter and Lois’ room, and Stewie’s room. There are other places the family goes, but those are not in all most every episode. B. I will describe each in detail by dividing the two into which is used more in the series.
