Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located outside the Clubhouse labelled FSC Dinghy Noticeboard.

3 CHANGES TO SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted no less than 90 minutes before the first scheduled race start of the day, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted by 1800 on the day before it will take effect.

4 SIGNALS MADE ASHORE 4.1 Signals made ashore will be displayed at the Dinghy Section flag mast 4.2 When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced with ‘not less than 30 minutes’ in the race signal AP. 4.3

8 THE COURSE 8.1 The diagrams in Appendix B show the courses, including the approximate angles between legs, the order in which marks are to be passed, and the side on which each is to be left. 8.2 No later than the warning signal, the race committee signal vessel will display the course to be sailed on a course board.

11 THE START 11.1 Races will be started in a 3 minute starting sequence as described below, this changes RRS 26. 11.2 The start line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee signal vessel at the starboard end and pin mark on the port end. 11.3 Boats whose warning signal has not been made shall avoid the starting area during the starting sequence for other races. [DP] 11.4 A boat that does not start within 3 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start without a hearing. This changes RRS A4 and A5. 12 CHANGE OF THE NEXT LEG OF THE COURSE 12.1 To change the next leg of the course, the race committee will move the original mark (or the finishing line) to a new position. 13 THE FINISH 13.1 The finish line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee signal vessel and an orange flag on a pin marker. As displayed in Appendix B. 13.2 Except when finishing, boats sailing through a finish line in either direction, while the committee boat is displaying a blue on station flag, will incur a 3 point scoring penalty without a hearing. This changes Rule A3 and A5. 14 PENALTY SYSTEM 14.1 RRS 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One- Turn Penalty.

15 TIME LIMITS AND TARGET TIMES

Boats failing to finish within 15 mins after the first boat in their fleet sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish without a hearing. This changes RRS 35, A4 and A5.

16 PROTESTS AND REQUESTS FOR REDRESS 16.1 Protest forms are available at the race office [located inside the Dinghy Clubhouse]. Protests and requests for redress or reopening shall be delivered there within the appropriate time limit. 16.2 The protest time limit is 60 minutes after the last boat has finished the last race of the day or the race committee signals no more racing today, whichever is later. 16.3 Notices will be posted no later than 30 minutes after the protest time limit to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties or named as witnesses. Hearings will be held in the protest room, located inside the FSC Library. 17 SCORING 17.1 The Low Point Scoring system RRS A4.1 will apply. 17.2 Three races are required to be completed to constitute a series. 17.3 a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. b) When from 5 to 7 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. c) When 8 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores. 18 SAFETY REGULATIONS 18.1 Boats shall sign on/off the sheet provided prior to going afloat for racing. These will be located outside the Dinghy Clubhouse. 18.2 Boats shall sign on/off the sheet provided within 60 minutes of completing racing for that session or later at the discretion of the race committee. 18.3 are exempt from SI 18.1 and SI 18.2 and shall instead sign on verbally at the start boat before the first warning signal of each session. 18.4 Boats failing to sign on or off within prescribed time shall receive a scoring penalty in the race closest to the indiscretion equal to three points

(places) across the line positions. No boat will be scored worse than a DSQ. 19 EVENT ADVERTISING

20 OFFICIAL BOATS

Official boats will be marked with a numbered yellow flag.

21 SUPPORT BOATS 21.1 Support boats will be marked with a numbered blue flag. Provided at in person registration. 21.2 All support boats and coach boats on the course area are required to monitor the appropriate VHF channel for their course area at all times while afloat. VHF channels for Alpha and Bravo course are listed SI 23.2 21.3 Support boats and coach boats must render assistance when instructed to do so by the race committee. 22 RADIO COMMUNICATIONS 22.1 [DP] Except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats. 22.2 Boats may use the radio to report retirement from racing.

23 PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to:

 The first three boats in each fleet with 6 or more boats  The first two boats in each fleet of 4-5 boats  The first boat in each fleet with 3 boats or less  Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Organising Committee.

24 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILTY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

25 INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of AUD $10,000,000 per incident or the equivalent.
