RULES: 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the YA Special Regulations, the rules of the respective Classes (except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions) and by the Sailing Instructions. 1.2 Rule 40 is altered to read as follows: “While afloat competitors shall wear a personal flotation device (PFD) secured in accordance with its instructions”. This rule shall apply at all times during the race without the need to display a Y flag. Wetsuits and dry suits are not personal flotation devices. 2. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: DATE TIME EVENT Saturday 16th May 1000 Heats 1 & 2 Saturday 20th June 1000 Heats 3 & 4 Saturday 27th June 1000 Resail (If Required) Saturday 11th July 1000 Heats 5 & 6 Saturday 15th August 1000 Heats 7 & 8 and Series Presentations 3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY: 3.1 The series is open to 505, 470, 420, Laser, Optimist, Open Bic, Flying Ant, Sharpie, 29er, 49er, 49erFX, Cherub, Minnow, Mirror, Contender, Tasar, Flying Fifteen, International 14, Hobie Cat, Nacra, Formula Sailboards and Bic Techno 293 Sailboards, Fireballs, Musto Skiffs and Sports Boats. Other Dinghy Classes are welcome. Please note a minimum of four (4) boats constitutes a fleet. 3.2 Competitors must be financial members of a Class Association that is affiliated with a National Authority recognised by the ISAF. Sailboard sailors must be a member of Windsurfing WA. 3.3 All sailors must be financial members of a yacht or sailing club that is affiliated with a National Authority recognised by the ISAF, hold a current Yachting Australia Sailor Identification Number (formally known as Silver/Youth Card) and have a minimum of $A5 million public liability insurance. 3.4 Eligible boats may enter online and pay the required fee at: https://events.fsc.com.au/eventapp/registration.aspx?eid=32 Entrants are encouraged to enter before the Wednesday prior to the race date they are competing in to assist race organisers with logistics and planning. 4. FEES: Single-Handed: $40.00 per series Double-Handed: $60.00 per series Additional Crew: $30.00 per series 5. RACING AREA: The races will be conducted on the area of water adjacent to Success Harbour Fremantle Sailing Club. 6. COURSES: The courses will be as described in the Sailing Instructions. 7. SCORING The Low Point Scoring system, Appendix A.4.1 shall apply. 8. PROTEST ARBRITRATION Protests arising from participation in this regatta shall be subject to arbitration as detailed in the Sailing Instructions. 9. SUPPORT BOATS Support personnel shall be registered with the Organising Authority, and shall keep clear of all boats racing (unless assisting a boat in distress or standing by a capsized boat). 10. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS: Results will be displayed on the FSC website and the Dinghy Regatta Notice Board as soon as possible 11. TROPHY PRESENTATION: The Prize Presentation will be held on Saturday 15th August 2015 following the conclusion of the final heat. 12. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY: Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority its associates and appointees will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death or inconvenience sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 13. WARNING: Sailing and activities associated with it involve risks of personal injury, loss and damage and even death. The risks include but are not limited to, the risk of injury from collision, capsizing, falling overboard, being trapped under the sail or boat after capsize and impact with equipment.
