September 2021 Ornament of the Month French knot – Hold the needle in your right hand. With your left hand, wrap the thread around the needle 1-3 times, depending on the size of knot you want. Read all instructions before starting 1. Trace mistletoe pocket two times onto fabric side of fusible interfacing. Trace sheep pocket four times onto fabric side of fusible interfacing. Refer to cover pic if needed. Iron rough side down to corresponding wool. Cut out exactly on the lines. Remove paper. Place fusible side down and iron pocket flaps to corresponding pocket. Follow placement picture in pattern. Stitch bottom and top using blanket stitch. Sides will be stitched when you sew the front and back together. 4. Position each piece on corresponding pocket, fuse in place and blanket stitch around edges. Whip stitch sheep heads and legs. Attach mistletoe leaves with one stitch in the middle. 5. Embellish each pocket. Sheep-French knot eyes, outline, straight stitch and French knots for blankets. Mistletoe-outline stitch for stems, French knot berries (wrap thread 4 times), refer to the cover pics for suggested stitching or create our own design! 6. Blanket stitch across top of back piece of each pocket. Pin each pocket front to their back piece, wrong sides together and blanket stitch together. 7. Add buttons and a hanger. 8. Enjoy the work of your hands!
