Request and Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust Response

Could you please let me have all the data you hold on inpatient beds during the period 1999 to today?

I am trying to compile a register of the number of community hospital inpatient beds available during that period on a month-by-month (alternatively, year-by-year) basis.

Please find attached Trust response.

The Freedom of Information act does not oblige a public authority to create information to answer a request if the requested information is not held. It does not place a duty upon public authorities to answer a question unless recorded information exists. The Freedom of Information duty is to only provide the recorded information held. I can confirm that our Trust does not hold the information appertaining to any Community inpatient beds held prior to 2016. To establish whether the information was held we conducted a thorough search, and made enquiries with the Trust Community teams, and the trust Business Intelligence Team. If the information was held by the Trust it would have to be held by the above mentioned departments.
