Sean Vogt Organ and Brass Spectacular featuring Sean Vogt and the Cathedral Brass

(Saint Paul, Minn) THURSDAY, MAY 14, 7:30pm, Dr. Sean Vogt, choirmaster at the Cathedral of Saint Paul, and artistic director & conductor of The Apollo Club, will perform as part of the Cathedral’s Centennial - 2015 celebration. The concert features a wide variety of works from themes of peace, to the apocalypse, and other audience pleasers – including an audience sing-a-long with the organ and brass! Of special note, the program will include a rare performance of Stephen Montague’s “Behold a Pale Horse” and featuring the recently-expanded Aeolian-Skinner, one of two historic organs at the Cathedral of Saint Paul (read more on the restored organs http://www.cathedralheritagefoundation.org/node/95).

As an organist, Dr. Vogt has performed at several national and international venues, national music conventions, and also serves as the state Repertoire and Standards Chair: Music and Worship for the American Choral Directors Association. Vogt is currently coaching with Dr. Stephen Hamilton, Music Director emeritus at the Church of the Holy Trinity (Episcopal) in New York City.

The concert is free and open to the public. Free will donations benefit the Organ Endowment Maintenance Fund.

Cathedral Hours: The Cathedral doors are normally open Sunday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guided tours are given at 1 p.m. Monday through Friday year round except on Holy Days and civil holidays.
