Nwanneka Ibekwe A new leader and player in the aerospace industry

Nwanneka Ibekwe is the President of Women In Aerospace Nigeria and the Chief Engineer at the National Space Research and Development Agency. She has pioneered the concept of gender mainstreaming in Nigeria's emerging space sector advancing the participation of women in the space industry as a whole. In over 20 years of Nigeria’s active involement in the Aerospace sector, women participation have become an important engines of research and innovations. While this is encouraging, a new study has revealed that the level and extent of female employees' presence in mid-to upper-level space indsutry jobs is still quite low. To this end, Nwanneka championed the Picture source ADB advocacy campaigns for increase participation of women in the aerospace sector. At the Picture source: ITU national levels, women are under-represented in the Aerospace industry decision-making structures including policy and regulatory institutions, as well as ministries responsible for science and technology, boards and senior managementCourtesy- SpaceX of private companies. In Africa and Nigeria in particular, one of the challenges Air Vice Marshall Tommy Udoh today is that, decision-making in science and technology sphere is generally treated as a purely technical area - typically for male experts, thereby offering little or no space to Women. “Therefore, representation is important in creating the conditions and regulations that will enable women to maximize their possibilities of benefiting from Aerospace industry. Dr. Mae Jemison: The first black woman to travel to space

Dr. Mae Jemison has built her career by taking big risks in pursuit of helping others and bettering our world -- while constantly searching for brand new ones for us to explore. In 1992, she became the first African American woman to travel to space as a crew member on board the Space Shuttle Endeavor.

In 1992, Dr. Mae Jemison became the first African American woman to travel to space as a crew member on board the Space Shuttle Endeavor. Before her tenure as a Courtesy- SpaceX NASA astronaut, Jemison practiced medicine across the world, and served as a medical officer in the Peace Corps, overseeing care in Sierra Leone and Liberia when she was just 26-years-old. Intellian, the global leader of mobile satellite communication antenna systems, has released the latest model in its new NX Series future-proof, performance-leading and low lifecycle cost VSAT antenna portfolio. The v130NX is the world's first Ku-Ka convertible VSAT terminal with a 1.25-meter reflector, making it an ideal platform for high-speed global Internet on ships, offshore vessels, and superyachts.

The v130NX is a flexible system supporting Ku-band and Ka-band (2.5 GHz Wide) networks. It is also compatible with GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit), MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) and LEO (Low Earth Orbit) constellations. As with all NX Series antennas, the v130NX is easily converted from Ku-band to Ka-band by changing the Radio Frequency (RF) Assembly and Feed, as the reflector and radome are already optimized for operation across both frequency bands. The v130NX features a highly efficient design and high-power BUC options up to 40 W, giving it the power to deliver the highest RF performance of any 1.25- meter system on the market today.
