    December 11th, 2019 Annex I: Enhanced ambition in national climate plans Under the Paris Agreement, Parties have been requested to present new or updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by 2020. In this context, 103 countries are responding to the urgent need to reduce emissions in the next decade by having communicated an enhanced NDC or signaling their intention to work towards enhancing the ambition of their NDCs by 2020. In addition, 11 Countries have started internal processes in their national plans and policies to boost ambition by 2020. The decisions to trigger the transformation to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement must be taken now; for this reason, other countries are encouraged to express their intention to join this list. Countries that will enhance ambition of their NDCs by 2020: • Afghanistan • Angola • Antigua and Barbuda1 2 • Argentina2 • Armenia2 • Bahamas1 • Bangladesh2 • Barbados1 • Belarus • Belize1 2 1 This country belongs to the SIDS 2020 Ambition Leadership Coalition, which promotes more ambitious climate action through new and updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the development of Long-term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategies (LT-LEDS) in Small Island Developing States in the context of the necessary means of implementation being made available. 2 This country is a member of the NDC Partnership.     725 Jahre Holzhausen Schlaglichter aus der Geschichte eines Ederdorfes* Von Andreas Metzing „725 Jahre Holzhausen - Schlaglichter aus der Geschichte eines Ederdorfes“, so habe ich meinen Vortrag genannt, und mehr als Schlaglichter können es eigentlich auch nicht sein, wenn man die Darstellung einer 725-jährigen Geschichte in einen Vortrag von 45 Minuten packen will. Aber ich hoffe, dass es mir trotzdem gelingt, Sie ein wenig vertraut zu machen mit dem, was sich vor 725 Jahren, also im ausgehen- den 13. Jahrhundert, hier in unserer Gegend abgespielt hat, und Ihnen zugleich na- hezubringen, wie die Menschen, die in diesen 725 Jahren das Dorf Holzhausen be- wohnten, gelebt, gelitten, gearbeitet, aber auch gefühlt haben. Begeben wir uns dazu also zunächst einmal in das Jahr 1274, in das Jahr also, in dem das Dorf Holzhausen erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde, und da müssen wir gleich eine sehr wichtige Beobachtung machen, bei der insbesondere die hier an- wesenden Damen aufmerksam werden sollten: Denn am Anfang der Geschichte von Holzhausen steht eine Frau! Genaugenommen handelt es sich sogar um eine adeli- ge Dame mit dem wohlklingenden Namen Berta von Schweinsberg - geboren aller- dings als Gräfin von Hatzfeld -, und diese Berta von Schweinsberg geborene von Hatzfeld schenkte - wie wir in der Urkunde erfahren zur Förderung ihres Seelenheils – am 2. Februar des Jahres 1274 ihre Güter in Holzhausen dem Kloster Haina, und mit der aus diesem Anlass ausgestellten Urkunde tritt Holzhausen ins Licht der Ge- schichte.1 Aus dieser Vorgängen des Jahres 1274 ergeben sich für Sie, meine Damen und Herren im Jahr 1999, möglicherweise ein paar Fragen, von denen ich hier wenigs- tens einige zu beantworten versuchen möchte.

    The path to the FAIR HANSA FAIR For more than 600 years, a unique network HANSA of merchants existed in Northern Europe. The cooperation of this consortium of merchants for the promotion of their foreign trade gave rise to an association of cities, to which around 200 coastal and inland cities belonged in the course of time. The Hanseatic League in the Middle Ages These cities were located in an area that today encom- passes seven European countries: from the Dutch Zui- derzee in the west to Baltic Estonia in the east, and from Sweden‘s Visby / Gotland in the north to the Cologne- Erfurt-Wroclaw-Krakow perimeter in the south. From this base, the Hanseatic traders developed a strong economic in uence, which during the 16th century extended from Portugal to Russia and from Scandinavia to Italy, an area that now includes 20 European states. Honest merchants – Fair Trade? Merchants, who often shared family ties to each other, were not always fair to producers and craftsmen. There is ample evidence of routine fraud and young traders in far- ung posts who led dissolute lives. It has also been proven that slave labor was used. ̇ ̆ Trading was conducted with goods that were typically regional, and sometimes with luxury goods: for example, wax and furs from Novgorod, cloth, silver, metal goods, salt, herrings and Chronology: grain from Hanseatic cities such as Lübeck, Münster or Dortmund 12th–14th Century - “Kaufmannshanse”. Hieraus ent- stand unter anderem der hier vorliegende Entwicklungsplan für unsere Region. Das Planwerk ist ein wichtiger Schritt, die Infrastrukturentwicklung systematisch und zielorientiert vorwärts zu bringen. Die Handlungsverantwortlichen im Natur- park benötigen eine solche grund legende Konzeption, um den zehn Gemeinden und den zwei Landkreisen des Gebietes, den zahlreichen regionalen Akteuren und der hohen Zahl weiterer Interessierter einen Handlungsrahmen mit schlüs- sigen Zielsetzungen vorzugeben. Mit der Ausweisung des Nationalparks Kellerwald-Edersee inmitten des gleich- namigen Naturparks werden neue noch verbesserte Chancen für die Entwick- lung der Gesamtregion in gesellschaftlicher, kultureller und wirtschaftlicher Hin- sicht eintreten.     START OF THE TOUR 1. Riga Gate The approximate area between Nikolai 7 (a yellow commercial building) and 12 (a green commercial building), see point 1 on the map. The red contour line on the map marks the town and castle walls in the Hanseatic times. The territory of the castle has been marked with diagonal lines, the area that belonged to the town is marked with dots. The contour line is discontinued at the location of the gate. Towers have been marked with circles, half-towers with semi-circles. The map serves an illustrative purpose. A land route, which was in use already in the 13th century, lead to Riga, starting from the Riga Gate and following the coastline. A more direct route would have been through the Cattle Gate (see point 8 on the map), but the road conditions were better when headed through the Riga Gate. This first point gives a great overview of the entire town wall, moat, towers, other gates, main streets and general image of the town. New-Pärnu was surrounded by a rampart. Read more... There were 9 towns, 2 of them big, on the Estonian territory in medieval times: Tallinn and Tartu, plus 7 smaller towns: Rakvere, Paide, Narva, Viljandi, Haapsalu, New- and Old-Pärnu. Four of those, in turn, belonged to the Hanseatic League: Tallinn, Tartu, Viljandi and New-Pärnu.
