Kawanishi Kawanishi ＊ ：concurrent post JAERI: Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute JAMSTEC: Japan Marine Science and Technology Center ADEOS-IIADEOS-II ProgramProgram DevelopmentDevelopment StatusStatus z Satellite Development ◆ ADEOS-II System PFT was finished in December 2000. ◆ Functional tests and additional tests was conducted after the PFT and ADEOS-II PQR was held on 21-23 March 2001. ◆ Pre-shipment test was finished in August and ADEOS-II was shipped to Tanegashima Space Center in September 2001. z Ground Segment Development ◆ Mission Simulation Test (MST) #1 for Level 1 data processing system was finished in February and MST #2 was finished in September 2001. ◆ Level 2&3 data processing system was also tested in MST#2. ◆ End-to-end test was performed for mission operations planning and data delivery z Analysis & Research ◆ Level 2&3 algorithms ver.0 for AMSR and GLI were delivered in September 2001. ◆ Level 2&3 algorithms are being integrated in the processing system.

5 Office of Satellite Technology, Research and Applications Operation Readiness Status １）ADEOSADEOS---IIII Operation Team --ADEOSADEOSADEOS---IIII Operation Project Team will be established in JFY 2002. ADEOSADEOS---IIII satellite, tracking control, HK evaluation and ground stationstationss will be operated intensively by this team. ２）ADEOSADEOS---IIII Tracking and Control Team - The team for ADEOSADEOS---IIII tracking and control will be established in 4 months before launch. ３）Ground System - The EOC operation staff will be assigned from 4 months before launch.launch. - The operation documents has been developed and maintained.

6 Office of Satellite Technology, Research and Applications ADEOS-II Data Policy（Tentative）

ADEOS-II Data will be distributed on open and non- discriminatory basis for contribution to earth science and utilization. ADEOS-II data will be distributed from NASDA, reproduction cost or for free-of-charge in case of PI or cooperative study.

* Data distribution for commerce purpose will be determined later. * Products of LAS-II, SeaWINDS and POLDER will be distributed by respective sensor providers.

Action Item ： NASDA EOPD will investigate data policy on “registered users” other than PIs. Standing order should not be limited to PIs. NASDA EOPD will evaluate the impact. (Due date: March 2001)
