Position Summary: The Information Literacy Librarian is responsible for developing and managing the Library’s information literacy programs, providing instruction and reference services, and assisting with print and digital collection management. This position is part of an academic support team within the Learning Commons that works together to enhance students’ academic success, persistence, and completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are the functions essential to performing this job: 1. Manage, develop and assess, in collaboration with the Library Director and Digital Resources Librarian, the information literacy instruction program, both online and in-person, including the development of online tutorials, Libguides, and instructional materials. 2. Conduct information literacy instruction sessions, including providing instructional support for the Dual Enrollment Program. 3. In collaboration with the Director of Library Services and the Digital Resources Librarian, manage and develop the Library’s in-person and online reference services, including providing research support and outreach to academic departments and student services, and training Learning Commons staff in reference best practices. 4. Serve as subject matter expert for reference and information literacy, including current and emerging trends, best practices, and digital resources. 5. Collaborate with faculty, Learning Commons’ staff, and other departments to embed and promote Library resources, instruction, and services into courses and other learning activities. 6. Assist with reference, research, and information technology questions. 7. Support the development of print and digital collections as needed. 8. Provide Learning Commons and Welcome Desk supervision and support, including weekends and evenings, as needed. 9. Assist the Library Director with projects and duties supporting the mission and goals of the College, Academic Affairs, and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Desired Qualifications: 1. Experience providing, managing, and assessing information literacy instruction in a setting 2. Experience creating and maintaining digital content online, including digital guides, instructional materials, and tutorials 3. Experience providing, managing, and training others to provide reference services in a higher education setting 4. Experience using and teaching others how to use workplace, educational, and related information technologies 5. Experience managing and developing print and electronic library collections 6. Experience working in fast-paced environment while prioritizing multiple tasks 7. Experience collaborating effectively with a variety of campus constituency groups serving students 8. Demonstrated ability to use varying styles, approaches, skills and techniques that reflect an understanding and acceptance of differences in students’ learning needs, experiences, and cultural backgrounds 9. Proficiency in oral and written communication
