Family Weekend Schedule 2018 FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2018

2:00pm – 7:00pm Registration & Check-In Murray Student Center, Rotunda Pre-paid event tickets and on-site registration (cash, check and credit card). Those planning to participate in events prior to 9:00am on Saturday must pick up their lanyard during this registration period. Please encourage your student to pick up your family’s lanyards if you will not be arriving on time.

4:00pm – 7:00pm Welcome Reception Murray Student Center, Cabaret Join Marist staff and faculty for snacks and refreshments, as we kick off Family Weekend. Don’t forget to post your first Family Weekend hashtag, #redfoxfam.

4:00pm – 8:00pm Boat Cruise (Last cruise departs at 7:00pm) Longview Park - Riverfront Property Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Hudson, ’s American Heritage River with the fabulous crew of Hudson Cruises. The boat will be departing every hour on the hour. Please reserve your complimentary tickets online and indicate your choice of departure time. One ticket per person. Boats depart from the Riverfront Dock on the hour at: 4:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm, and 7:00pm.

6:00pm, 8:00pm, and 10:00pm Movie Showing: “Incredibles 2” 6:00pm showing in the Murray Student Center, Fusco Recital Hall. The 8:00pm and 10:00pm showings will be held outdoors on the Campus Green, weather permitting. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the evening with everyone’s favorite family of superheroes.

7:00pm – 11:00pm Escape Rooms Murray Student Center, SC 3101 Families will have 13-15 minutes to work together to solve puzzles, find hidden messages, and ultimately escape the room before it's too late! Signups will begin at 6:00pm outside SC 3101.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2018

8:30am – 6:00pm Historical Homes Bus Trips (every half-hour) (The last departure from Marist is at 3:30pm. The final departure back to campus is at 5:40pm from FDR). Departure Location: Foy Parking Lot There is so much to do in Hyde Park, NY. Visit the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site, Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, and the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site. Families can either take a guided tour of the homes or simply enjoy the exquisite landscaped grounds and gardens on site. Tours are available on a first come, first serve basis, and may sell out throughout the day. Tickets are available for purchase on site. The last tour at each historical site is at 4:00pm.

9:00am – 11:00am Campus History Walk Enjoy a stroll through Marist history led by Marist historians, the Head of Special Collections and the Curator of the Project. Tours depart from the Marist Library at 9:00am, 9:45am, and 10:30am.

9:00am – 6:00pm Hudson River Boat Cruises (Last cruise departs at 5:30pm) Longview Park - Riverfront Property See Friday description. Boats depart from the Riverfront Dock on the hour and half hour at: 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, 10:30am, 11:00am, 11:30am, 12:00pm, 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm, 2:30pm, 3:00pm, 3:30pm, 4:00pm, 4:30pm, 5:00pm, and 5:30pm.

9:30am – 11:00am Fox Family Breakfast Buffet Murray Student Center Third Floor, Hudson River Rooms Come enjoy a casual breakfast featuring light fare as you begin your day as a Red Fox family.

10:00am - 5:00 pm DuBois Orchard Bus Trips (every half hour) Departure Location: Midrise Parking Lot The last departure from Marist is at 3:00pm. The final departure from the orchard will be at 5:00pm. DuBois Farms offers a wide variety of fruit available to pick, as well as a farm stand and café with delicious baked goods, fresh pressed local cider, various jams, sauces, honey, and mixes, as well as bath and shower gels, and hand and body lotions. Enjoy lunch on the farm too! Apples, pumpkins, grapes, tomatoes, and peppers will be in season. Kids of all ages will enjoy the 2-acre corn maze, tractor pulled wagon rides, visits with farm animals, and “Tiny-Town.” Be sure to check out the all new “Tavern at DuBois Farms,” with local hard cider, craft beer, and wine. Buses will depart from Midrise parking lot every half hour with the last departure at 3:00pm. The final departure from DuBois Orchard will be at 5:00pm.

10:15am - 5:30pm Robibero Winery Tasting & Tour (PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED) Departure Location: Foy Parking Lot (charter bus provided) (21 & Older - $8/ID Required. There is no charge for those under 21) Must be Prepaid online by adding winery tickets to your cart. ID Required for tasting. All winery purchases can be made with cash, credit/debit. Robibero Winery, located in historic New Paltz, aims to create a comfortable environment in which to enjoy delicious New York State wines. Each of their wines are hand crafted by the Robibero family in hopes that you enjoy them with yours. The tasting room overlooks their vineyards and the picturesque . With ample seating and a large lawn, Robibero Winery is the perfect setting for a picnic lunch enjoyed with a glass or bottle of wine and their selection of cheeses, meats, hummus, and other snacks. Family friendly activities will be available. Please reserve your tour online and select your choice departure time. Please note tickets are limited.

11:00am – 11:30am President Yellen’s Welcome Murray Student Center, Nelly Goletti Theatre (with additional live streaming in the Hudson River Rooms) Hear about Marist from the President’s perspective. Join us for a warm welcome from Marist’s 4th President, David Yellen.

11:45am – 12:45am A Look Inside the Hancock Center Stop by the third floor of the Hancock Center for an inside look at The Marist Poll. Marist Poll directors Dr. Lee M. Miringoff and Dr. Barbara L. Carvalho, along with The Marist Poll team, will introduce you to how more than 300 Marist College students carry out the best-in-the-Nation public opinion polls.

12:00pm – 4:30pm Walkway Over the Hudson Bus Trips (every half-hour) Departure Location: Midrise Parking Lot (The last departure from Marist is at 2:30pm. The final departure from the Walkway Over the Hudson will be at 4:00pm). The Walkway Over the Hudson transforms the bridge into a linear park and trailway. The bridge provides public access to the Hudson River's scenic landscape for pedestrians, while connecting with an extensive network of rail-trails, parks, and communities. For more information about the Walkway, check out www.walkway.org. Buses will depart from the Midrise Parking Lot every half-hour with the last departure at 2:30pm. The final departure from the Walkway will be at 4:00pm.

12:00pm Lunch on Your Own Options include the Tailgate Party Food Trucks (see list of Food Trucks below), Campus Dining Hall & Cabaret available on a cash basis.

12:00pm – 4:00pm Marist Family Fest Campus Green Enjoy the afternoon on the Campus Green at Marist Family Fest, featuring a DJ, petting zoo, caricaturists, air hockey, rock climbing, and bungee jumping. Popcorn, lemonade, snow cones, and other refreshments provided.

12:00pm - 8:00pm Food Truck Tailgate Party Donnelly Parking Lot/Marian Green/Champagnat Mall Join us for a tailgate party with great food, live music with “Them Bones,” a visit by the Marist College Marching Band, as well as fox tattoos from the Dance Team. A variety of local food, craft beer, and hard cider will be available for purchase. Please bring your I.D. In addition to the music and food, families can enjoy activities such as making architectural letter art, getting henna tattoos, taking photos in our photo booth, playing lawn activities, and inflatable games. 1:00pm Marist Football vs. University of Tenney Stadium Cheer on the as they take on the Dayton Flyers. A limited number of family chairback tickets are available in the community section of Tenney Stadium. These tickets will allow family members to sit with their student (note that students are generally seated in the student section for the game). Please bring a blanket and chairs for general admission seating (lawn seating). You must be registered for the weekend or Saturday only to get a free ticket.

2:00pm-4:00pm International Coffee Break & Tours North End Housing Complex, Building D Enjoy a cup of Café Bustello, and a tour of the North End Housing Complex, dining hall, and fitness center. The Marist Abroad Office will be available for coffee, conversation, and to answer questions about Marist in , Washington DC and Albany, Marist and other international experiences.

7:00pm Marist Men’s Soccer vs. Rider Tenney Stadium Come cheer on the Marist Red Foxes, as they take on the . Tickets are not required. Enjoy the game, and a chance to test your soccer skills for the opportunity to win a prize! You’ll have prime seats for the fireworks to follow.

9:00pm Fireworks Tenney Stadium Immediately following the soccer game, join members of the Marist community for a spectacular fireworks display.

10:00am – 12:00pm Self-Guided Tours of the Allied Health Building The Allied Health Building is home to Marist‘s new Physician Assistant and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs, as well as Athletic Training, Medical Technology, and all laboratories for our Department of Biology. While this is a self- guided tour, a faculty member from our DPT program will greet you and be available for questions and information. This is a great opportunity to explore our newest academic building, which is not included on regular campus tours.

12:00pm-3:30pm Family Farewell BBQ Longview Park - Riverfront Property Student Affairs invites you to come and enjoy a farewell BBQ while listening to Paul Strowe, the “Human Jukebox” and “One Man Band.” Paul is an accomplished singer, song writer and guitarist with knowledge of over 600 songs. Every song is a journey through the past charged with Paul’s incredible energy! In addition to great food and music, families can enjoy the giant slide, football and toss, mini golf, and crafts.
