F.A.Q. about the Presidential TeleForum Series

Q. What is this teleforum series? A. AGC of America, along with select national associations, will host a series of presidential town hall-style teleforums where the leading candidates in both parties may talk directly to business owners like you about their plans for the economy. This is the candidates’ opportunity to explain to you their views on taxes, labor regulations, environmental rules and other issues that will affect your business. More importantly, this is your chance to compare the candidates, ask them questions, and focus the political conversation on issues that are important to construction.

Q. Which candidates are invited? A. Former Florida Governor , Dr. , former Secretary of State , Senator , former HP CEO , former Governor Mike , Ohio Governor , Senator , Senator , and businessman .

Q. What was the candidate invitation criteria? A. The candidates qualified for the initial invitation by maintaining at least four percent in the RealClearPolitics average of polls during the period starting from the first GOP debate and ending on Labor Day. Should additional candidates average at least 4 percent for a 30-day time period prior to the start of voting, an invitation to participate will be sent to them.

Q. Can I send the invitation to colleagues, friends, and family members? A. Unfortunately, no. The teleforum is an exclusive, members-only event. Due to federal election regulations, member participation in the teleforum series is limited to the association's "restricted class." This includes AGC of America’s member company primary contacts, members of the Board of Governors, and members of the . The invitation you received is non-transferable.

Q. How does this teleforum work? A. Just before 5:25 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 4, you will receive a phone call at which time you will be patched into the live teleforum. This is why it is very import that you submit a phone number during the registration process that is a direct dial or mobile number. If you are unable to answer the phone at this time, don’t worry. You will have already received information on how to live-stream the teleforum on your computer in the days leading up to the teleforum. A recording will also be made available to you.

Q. Will I get to ask the candidate a question? A. When the teleforum begins, the moderator will instruct participants on how they can ask a question. For those individuals that choose to do so, they will go into a queue. If selected from this group, you will be placed live on the call with the candidate at which time you can ask him or her your question. The candidate will do a Q&A for approximately 30 minutes. If the moderator is unable to get to you in the queue, you will have the opportunity to leave your question for the candidate at the conclusion of the teleforum.
