Well the season reaches a pivotal point today as it’s our last home game for three matches until we return on the 29th June… we face University and Island Bay away in the league and a juicy Chatham Cup tie with Wharfies on Queens Birthday Monday to look forward to. Hutt Park has been a happy hunting ground this season with three wins out of three starts and 10 goals in the process. Today our visitors are Olympic and they are an attack minded club so hopefully today we’ll see a few more “in the auld onion bag!” The club’s had a successful period with our Men’s 1st team equal top of Premier League and our Women’s Premier League team sitting first in their league. And also in the last two weekends we’ve seen thousands of mums Skipper ‘JT’ dads and young footballers descend on Hutt Park for the Annual Wynton Rufer tournament. Over 85 teams participated and the event keeps getting bigger and better every year. Next year it’s the 20th anniversary so expect an even bigger festival of football. Thanks to our major sponsors revera for their continued support! Last weekend also saw the official opening of the artificial at Memorial Park. For us it was a day of missed opportunities. A 2 –2 away draw versus Petone felt like a loss after a failed clearance was smashed against a hapless Brandon Tai who was given an automatic red, conceding a penalty in the process an subsequently the equaliser. Brandon at least gets to play this weekend with the double header League and Cup double. Back to today and our battle with Olympic at Hutt Park… Our last home defeat was on the 28th April 2012 well over a year ago. Our last home win against Wellington United was our 10th win in a row. Victories over Wests, Wellington United (2) Wainui, Petone, Miramar, Waterside (2) Marist and Island Bay… Fortress Hutt Park! So look for more fireworks today. Enjoy the football and enjoy our Stop Out hospitality! . 3 6 goals in his last six Another “spot” for Steve in the 2-2 draw with Petone league matches for Joe “Fizz on fire” Another “Fast Eddie” overlap from our LFB MOM vs Petone Capital Premier P W D L F A GD Pts 1 Waterside 7 5 1 1 21 9 12 16 2 Stop Out 7 5 1 1 19 7 12 16 3 Island Bay 7 4 2 1 21 11 10 14 “Away” from the danger 4 Miramar 7 3 1 3 12 11 1 10 zone -Jack Kemp 5 University 7 3 1 3 11 12 -1 10 6 Petone 7 2 2 3 12 15 -3 8 7 Olympic 7 2 1 4 15 22 -7 7 8 Marist 7 2 1 4 8 15 -7 7 9 Wainui 7 2 1 4 5 13 -8 7 10 Wgtn Utd 7 1 1 5 11 20 -9 4 Cap Prem IBU Marist M’mar Petone Stop Out Uni Wainui W’side Olympic Wgtn Island Bay 2-0 17/8 2-2 22/6 1/6 4-1 6/7 3/8 20/7 Marist 13/7 1/6 2-0 0-3 3-1 27/7 0-4 29/6 17/8 Miramar 8/6 10/8 6/7 0-4 3/8 0-1 2-3 20/7 22/6 Petone 27/7 22/6 2-3 2-2 0-3 10/8 8/6 13/7 2-1 Stop Out 1-0 20/7 29/6 3/8 17/8 6/7 4-2 1/6 5-1 University 10/8 6/7 0-4 20/7 8/6 22/6 0-2 2-2 4-1 Wainui 29/6 1-1 13/7 1/6 2-0 0-1 20/7 17/8 3/8 Waterside 2-2 3/8 27/7 17/8 13/7 29/6 4-0 4-1 1/6 Olympic 3-6 4-2 0-2 2-4 4 10/8 27/7 8/6 22/6 6/7 Wgtn Utd 2-5 8/6 1-1 29/6 27/7 13/7 3-0 10/8 2-3 2013 CAPITAL PREMIER LEAGUE Rnd 1 Sat 6 April Stop Out 1 Island Bay 0 Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 2 Sat 13 April Miramar 0 Stop Out 4 Dave Farrington @ 2.30 Rnd 3 Sat 20 April Wainui 2 Stop Out 0 Richard Prouse @ 2.30 Rnd 4 Sat 27 April Stop Out 4 Waterside 2 Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 5 Sat 4 May Marist 0 Stop Out 3 Kilbirnie Park @ 2.30 C/Cup Sat 11 May Wgtn Coll 0 Stop Out 4 Wgtn College @ 2pm Rnd 6 Sat 18 May Stop Out 5 Wellington 1 Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 7 Sat 25 May Petone 2 Stop Out 2 Memorial @ 1.30 Rnd 8 Sat 1 June Stop Out Olympic Hutt Park @ 2.30 C/Cup Mon 3rd June Waterside Stop Out Karori Park @ 2.0 Rnd 9 Sat 8 June University Stop Out Kelburn Park @ 2.30 Rnd 10 Sun 22 June Island Bay Stop Out Wakefield @ 3.30 Rnd 11 Sat 29 June Stop Out Miramar Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 12 Sat 6 July Stop Out Wainui Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 13 Sat 13 July Waterside Stop Out Karori Park @ 2.30 Rnd 14 Sat 20 July Stop Out Marist Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 15 Sun 27 July Wellington Stop Out Newtown Park @ 2.30 Rnd 16 Sat 3 Aug Stop Out Petone Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 17 Sat 10 Aug Olympic Stop Out Wakefield @ 5.45 Rnd 18 Sat 17 Aug Stop Out University Hutt Park@ 2.30 STOP OUT SPORTS CLUB 5 Women’s Capital Premier May 26, Karori Park v Karori 4-0 (0-0) Mel Macdougall 2, Jade 2 A great day in Karori with the wind as normal. A bit of an early start NME ELECTRICAL with an 11.00am kickoff and a game against a mid table team. We need to keep winning as we welcome Kels and Kathryn back from injury but make a sluggish start with our players not really switched on which made the 1st half hard to watch as we struggled to get on top of an average Wharfies side. The halftime score of 0-0 was not where we should have been. A pointed and blunt half time talk certainly did the job. It looked like a different team that started the 2nd spell and in the 50th minute Jade scored to break the drought. More came from Mel MacD with a 54th minute goal and then a penalty in 76th minute. Jade finished the scoringoff with another in the 85th minute. After a frustrating 1st half the 2nd showed what these girls can do if the put their minds to it if they stick to the game plan. To be honest it’s these type of games that you can slip up on—but we didn’t! We left Karori with 3 points and a game on the turf next week. 3 pts Aimee a rock in defence. 2 pts Jade 2 goals & good runs. 1 pts Alysa Hard work on both wings. Top of the table - even if it is courtesy of BNU playing Cup football last weekend, but it's a great spot to be & simple maths says if we keep winning we'll stay top too! Since our last update a couple of wins to note, 2-0 versus Lower Hutt and then 4-0 versus Waterside Karori. Both matches saw the team with slow starts (both games 0-0 at the break) but strong finishes ensured 6 points collected. Elliott and Craig pleased that as they juggle a few walking wounded, other players have stepped in and looked comfortable at this level - youngsters Sian Feeney and Christine Hosie amongst the players making their debut at this level - just one year out from playing juniors at Stop Out. Tomorrow it's a late kick off, 5pm versus Marist, in what will be a tough match. Marist never make it easy & in recent years we've had some cracking matches against them. Now we don't want to be getting ahead of ourselves but the following week it's the all important return fixture versus BNU.
