Well we’re only 5 games into the season but already the train spotters are having a field day comparing our 2013 season start compared to that of 2012. In 2012, five games into the season we were on 4 points… In 2013 five games in we’re on 12 points. Amazingly It took us until Round 11 in 2012 to get past the 12 point mark… Of the 5 matches we’ve played this season, relative to the corresponding fixtures played in 2012 we’ve had 3 more wins, 9 more goals, 4 less goals conceded and we’re 8 points better off. Our first clean sheet in 2012 was round 15… In 2013 that was achieved in game 1! In 2012 we amassed 2 clean sheets. We’ve Steve Gulley surpassed that in 2013 with already 3 clean sheets! And we’ve also had two away wins this season compared to a staggering zero, zilch, niente, none, zip- away wins in 2012. So what conclusions can you draw from all of those stats? Apart from a big thank you to ACC for the “Stat Man’s” time! Well you don’t have to be a brain surgeon to realise we’ve had a better start in 2103… But no one’s getting ahead of themselves. Competition favourites Island Bay and Waterside Karori have also had very strong starts to the season and will be competitive come seasons end. One of the pleasing factors this year is the quality recruitment in key areas. Every week the combinations are gelling and with depth across the squad the options for Stevey and Scott are endless. And unlike many teams we’ve played this season our desire to play Martin Packer attacking, entertaining football is to be applauded. After a comfortable first up Chatham Cup romp against the school- boys of Wellington College it would be wonderful to again mirror our Cup run of 2012. Wharfies are our next opponent! Today it’s old timers Day and back to league action. It’s fitting that Wellington United are our opponents because in the halcyon National League days of the 70s Stop Out and Wellington Diamond United were firm foes on the football field. Both clubs are on the rise again with Wellington United’s first team back in Central league. Today we welcome their reserve team and it’s top versus bottom. And across on #2, the 2nds take on… you guessed it Wellington Eddie Burnett United. So welcome to Hutt Park, enjoy the football and enjoy our hospitality! 3 “Fullback Fizz” Joe has now notched has been in outstanding four goals in his last 4 form this season league games Capital Premier P W D L F A GD Pts 1 Stop Out 5 4 0 1 12 4 8 12 2 Waterside 5 3 1 1 14 7 7 10 3 Island Bay 5 3 1 1 13 6 7 10 Jack Kemp covers a 4 University 5 3 0 2 9 6 3 9 rasping shot vs Karori 5 Miramar 5 2 1 2 6 8 -2 7 6 Petone 5 2 0 3 8 11 -3 6 7 Marist 5 2 0 3 7 10 -3 6 8 Olympic 5 2 0 3 20 14 -4 6 9 Wainui 5 2 0 3 4 9 -5 6 10 Wgtn Utd 5 0 1 4 15 15 -8 1 Cap Prem IBU Marist M’mar Petone Stop Out Uni Wainui W’side Olympic Wgtn Island Bay 2-0 17/8 18/5 22/6 1/6 4-1 6/7 3/8 20/7 Marist 13/7 1/6 2-0 0-3 3-1 27/7 25/5 29/6 17/8 Miramar 8/6 10/8 6/7 0-4 3/8 0-1 18/5 20/7 22/6 Petone 27/7 22/6 2-3 25/5 0-3 10/8 8/6 13/7 2-1 Stop Out 1-0 20/7 29/6 3/8 17/8 6/7 4-2 1/6 18/5 University 10/8 6/7 25/5 20/7 8/6 22/6 0-2 18/5 4-1 Wainui 29/6 18/5 13/7 1/6 2-0 0-1 20/7 17/8 3/8 Waterside 2-2 3/8 27/7 17/8 13/7 29/6 4-0 4-1 1/6 Olympic 25/5 4-2 0-2 2-4 410/8 27/7 8/6 22/6 6/7 Wgtn Utd 2-5 8/6 1-1 29/6 27/7 13/7 25/5 10/8 2-3 2013 CAPITAL PREMIER LEAGUE Rnd 1 Sat 6 April Stop Out 1 Island Bay 0 Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 2 Sat 13 April Miramar 0 Stop Out 4 Dave Farrington @ 2.30 Rnd 3 Sat 20 April Wainui 2 Stop Out 0 Richard Prouse @ 2.30 Rnd 4 Sat 27 April Stop Out 4 Waterside 2 Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 5 Sat 4 May Marist 0 Stop Out 3 Kilbirnie Park @ 2.30 C/Cup Sat 11 May Wgtn Coll 0 Stop Out 4 Rnd 6 Sat 18 May Stop Out Wellington Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 7 Sat 25 May Petone Stop Out Memorial @ 3.30 Rnd 8 Sat 1 June Stop Out Olympic Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 9 Sat 8 June University Stop Out Kelburn Park @ 2.30 C/Cup Sat 15 June Rnd 10 Sun 22 June Island Bay Stop Out Wakefield @ 3.30 Rnd 11 Sat 29 June Stop Out Miramar Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 12 Sat 6 July Stop Out Wainui Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 13 Sat 13 July Waterside Stop Out Karori Park @ 2.30 Rnd 14 Sat 20 July Stop Out Marist Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 15 Sun 27 July Wellington Stop Out Newtown Park @ 2.30 Rnd 16 Sat 3 Aug Stop Out Petone Hutt Park @ 2.30 Rnd 17 Sat 10 Aug Olympic Stop Out Wakefield @ 5.45 Rnd 18 Sat 17 Aug Stop Out University Hutt Park@ 2.30 STOP OUT SPORTS CLUB 5 Women’s Capital Premier NME ELECTRICAL The Premiers sit handily placed, one point behind leaders BNU after 5 matches. Goals have been raining in as the team puts together an unbeaten league run of 4 matches before tackling Lower Hutt tomorrow at Hutt Park1, 1:00pm. Stand out result for the young squad is the 6-2 win over fellow title challengers, Victoria University. After an early lead was hauled back by the Uni’ team the Stop Out girls fired in four unanswered goals over the last half hour to make an emphatic statement to the rest of the league. Youth is once again a feature of the side, the sum of the players age only marginally exceeding the combined ages of Elliott and Craig on the sideline (Elliott’s the one with hair). Sadly the team has lost the youthful April Gallagher for the season, the young at heart midfielder felled by a broken metatarsal - a self inflicted injury at her 40th celebrations (and Craig thought it was the young one’s he should worry about on Saturday nights!!). Despite their young age the squad recently had Mel Macdougall & Kathryn Burt play their 50th games in senior football for the club – while stalwart keeper Kath McGuinness has also joined the growing number of the “50” club. On the pitch the team is improving their performance week by week, with new faces such as Aimee Sanson, Olivia Browne, Madison Bibby & Adele Lonergan making their mark in red shirts (all are still at high school). The engine room of the two Mel’s with support from Maddy, Alysa, Steph and Amalia is a delight to watch – their short passing game a feature as they put 5 goals past North Wgtn, and 4 past both Karori & Wellington United. The team went to Maycenvale in the Hawkes Bay for the First Round of the ASB Women’s Knock Out Cup on May the 5th. While the 0-3 result was disappointing the team had more than half the shots on goal during the hot afternoon. Sadly, their shooting boots must have fallen out of the van at BP Dannevirke and an even contest had an inflated outcome with 2 goals scored in injury time when the Stop Out players were up the other end chasing an equaliser. We Are North Shore SATURDAY 13th MAY 2017 – KICK OFF 2PM CHATHAM CUP – RD1 OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: METRO FC HEAD COACH– Tom Speers Good afternoon and welcome back to the the Hill for the 1st round of the Chatham Cup. I would like to welcome Mike and his Metro team here today, I expect it to be a lot tighter game than when they visited in the first game of season and I'm sure they will be looking to do a lot better than the 7-0 they experienced here that day. I love being part of the Cup and as there is only one cup competition in NZ I'm looking forward to hopefully going far. This club has a rich history in this cup, winning it 6 times, the last being in 1986, so fingers crossed we can progress into the later rounds of the competition and be there or there about towards the end. You can see the success we have had in this competition all over the clubhouse walls and talking with former players who have won it, we know how important it is to the club that we represent the club properly, so unlike the rumours I have been hearing, we will be playing a full strength squad and hoping every club in this competition do the same, resting players when you only have 1 game a week would be disrespectful to the longest cup competition on the planet and also be quite embarrassing for the clubs that do so. I hope you have a good day and hopefully see us progress, get behind the boys and make some noise.

  • MATCH DAY PROGRAM 19 August 2017
MATCH DAY PROGRAM 19th August 2017 Photo courtesy of AT Photo UPPER HUTT CITY VS WELLINGTON UNITED MAIDSTONE PARK - KO 1:00 PM A message from Gibby . We’ve managed 3 games in 11 days which has been a tough ask for this end of the season, but what an 11 days! First up we had PNM in the Knockout Cup Quarter Final. Leading up to this game we’d won a game apiece, and drawn 1-1 so it was always going to be a tight game. These games are always tough physical battles and this was no exception. Both teams were throwing everything they had into it, which was reflected in the half time score of 0-0. The second 45 was just as tough as the first, and we managed to get on the score sheet when PNM gave the ball away in their defensive third and Lena de Ronde capitalised by driving a cross into the 6 yard box and Emma Main nipped in front of her defender to tuck the ball away. 1-0. PNM are the sort of team that never gives up, and they struck back after a ball over the top was picked up by their striker and they slotted the ball into the far post tying the game up 1-1. Cup matches need a result, and so into extra time we went. Both teams were showing the effects of a long hard tussle, but through sheer grit and determination we pushed forward, and sent a cross into the box for Lena de Ronde to pop up at the far post driving the ball into the net to take us 2-1 up.

All proceeds going towards the club, please make sure you grab a burger! Monday, 5 June 2017 Chatham Cup Programme – NWAFC vs NPRAFC Page 1 of 7 Welcome, It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to Alex Moore Park for this important ISPS Handa Chatham Cup match as we host New Plymouth Rangers. As the largest senior club in the Wellington region we are pleased and proud to offer footballing opportunities for players of all ages and stages on the football spectrum. The Northern Hills Pathway has been an important initiative for football development in our area. We are working together with the Onslow and North Wellington junior football clubs, Newlands and Onslow Colleges, to create a player pathway for footballers of any ability. This is one of the most significant pieces of work ever embarked upon. Although in its early stages, all 5 organisations agreeing to work together and collaborate with the aim of promoting the best interests of footballers is a worthy objective which will have positive ramifications for years to come. Our partnership with the Ngatiawa Russell Masonic Lodge and their sponsorship of our Men’s Premier team has been a very positive experience. This alliance has increased the profile of our club while also promoting the opportunity to become involved in Freemasonry. The recent announcement by Just Paterson Real Estate of their sponsorship of our Men’s Reserve and Third teams has been equally well received.

The equivalent of England's FA Cup, the trophy was gifted to the New Zealand Football Association by the crew of HMS Chatham, as a means of thanking the New Zealand public for the great goodwill shown the sailors during their time in this part of the world. It has become the most sought after honour in New Zealand soccer, with a record number of teams - 172 - entering the competition in 1991, the NZFA's centenary season. University-Mt. Wellington have won the trophy seven times, one more than both Christchurch United and North Shore United, who have reached the final on twelve occasions. Eastern Suburbs and Central United boast the next best records, with five triumphs apiece.

The First Word My blood is red… and gold! Well it was an interesting Easter break that saw the ―Prems‖ earn a last minute penalty to record an away draw at Marist. It was a game the coaching staff and players felt we did enough to win but football’s all about finishing and perhaps an away point is better than a loss! And then for the Chatham Cup game on Monday Besim was able to rest a couple of senior players and blood some youth as we cruised past the hapless Naenae side 4 nil. It was an emphatic victory based on our quick passing game. It’s nice to see the squad system working effectively and player depth is crucial to the success of any campaign as we work around the inevitable A broken wrist will keep player suspension and injury.
