The First Word My blood is red… and gold! Welcome to Hutt Park for our final home game of the season. Our title hopes are still alive even after our disappointing last 5 minutes against Wellington United two weeks ago which saw us steal defeat from the jaws of victory! Gutting for coaches, players and sup- porters alike but there’s character in this squad and it was a pleasing return to form—and another clean sheet that saw the team back on track and sitting in third. A gutsy 1 nil victory against Olympic in freezing temperatures on the Wakefield turf means we are still in with a chance to win the tile– albeit a slim chance. Today we welcome newly promoted Wainuiomata. The first round match saw a flattering 5—nil victory however Wainui have improved markedly. They’ve clawed their way back to be ninth , three points and one place higher above cellar dwellers Wests CL / reserves and it must be noted with a significantly better goal average that Wests. -

It’s been a month since we played at Hutt Park. A tough away encounter at Wests, a Chatham Cup game in the polar wind tunnel at Wakefield Park against Island Bay and then another night game in freezing conditions against Lower Hutt at Fraser. Well it’s nice to be home and playing during the daytime — on grass! Season two back in Central League has seen an improved start to the campaign. In fact our last home defeat was close to a year ago on the 13th June 2015 against you guessed it — Napier City Rovers. This season has seen a host of yellows and reds being handed out—something like 8 reds in all games we’ve been involved in already! And that seems to be consistent with our Central and Capital Premier colleagues with a host of games being impacted in this way. -

CAPITAL FOOTBALL PROGRAMME OF THE YEAR 2020 Liquid IT Petone vs North Wellington Central League 2021 | 1pm, Saturday May 22 | Memorial Park Powerex Petone vs Victoria University W-League 2021 | 11am, Saturday May 29 | Memorial Park 1 Proudly supporting Petone FC liquidit.nz 2 Chairman’s Corner elcome to North Wellington who play our Liquid IT Men’s First Team Wtoday and Victoria University who play our Powerex Women’s First Team on May 29, and all of the supporters that have come to support their team. With North Wellington being eighth in the Central League and Petone sitting ninth, this is a big day for both teams in the search for valuable points. Petone, with a recent loss to Miramar and being knocked out of the Chatham Cup, now need to focus hard on the league and play to their full potential. Our Women’s First Team’s first home game of 2021 on May 8 resulted in their first three points of the season and they followed that up a win in the first round of the Kate Sheppard Cup on May 16. They play Wairarapa on the May 22 before their game against Vic Uni – we look forward to how many points they can get from those two games. It is fantastic to have the Wellington Phoenix back at Sky Stadium for the first time in over 12 months. They have been playing some great football at their new home over in Aussie – let’s hope they bring their best game back to Wellington and provide some great entertainment to their loyal supporters who will no doubt be at the game in record numbers. -

Round 2 Monday 5 June 2017 Alex Moore Park Turf, Johnsonville VS Ngatiawa Russell Lodge New Plymouth Rangers AFC North Wellington AFC Mens Premier Kick off 2pm BBQ available during the game thanks to Wellington Hospitality Group. All proceeds going towards the club, please make sure you grab a burger! Monday, 5 June 2017 Chatham Cup Programme – NWAFC vs NPRAFC Page 1 of 7 Welcome, It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to Alex Moore Park for this important ISPS Handa Chatham Cup match as we host New Plymouth Rangers. As the largest senior club in the Wellington region we are pleased and proud to offer footballing opportunities for players of all ages and stages on the football spectrum. The Northern Hills Pathway has been an important initiative for football development in our area. We are working together with the Onslow and North Wellington junior football clubs, Newlands and Onslow Colleges, to create a player pathway for footballers of any ability. This is one of the most significant pieces of work ever embarked upon. Although in its early stages, all 5 organisations agreeing to work together and collaborate with the aim of promoting the best interests of footballers is a worthy objective which will have positive ramifications for years to come. Our partnership with the Ngatiawa Russell Masonic Lodge and their sponsorship of our Men’s Premier team has been a very positive experience. This alliance has increased the profile of our club while also promoting the opportunity to become involved in Freemasonry. The recent announcement by Just Paterson Real Estate of their sponsorship of our Men’s Reserve and Third teams has been equally well received. -

Well it’s nice to be back at home for our last two Men’s Premier matches of the season. And we have a proud record on Hutt Park with our last League and Cup loss being way back in April. After experiencing some unsatisfactory pitch standards at Richard Prouse and Memorial we are forever hopeful that the grass gets cut for today’s match! Today we welcome Wellington United who are fighting for survival against Petone at the foot of the table. However if Upper Hutt do win their playoff matches and move into Central League for 2013 there will be no relegations from Capital Premier. That of course won’t stop today’s match being a tough uncompromising competitive match, and one hopes some expressive football being played. With all the injuries and a couple of suspensions over the last few weeks now sorted, it’s a chance for the boys to really hit their straps. -

The First Word My blood is red… and gold! Well it was an interesting Easter break that saw the ―Prems‖ earn a last minute penalty to record an away draw at Marist. It was a game the coaching staff and players felt we did enough to win but football’s all about finishing and perhaps an away point is better than a loss! And then for the Chatham Cup game on Monday Besim was able to rest a couple of senior players and blood some youth as we cruised past the hapless Naenae side 4 nil. It was an emphatic victory based on our quick passing game. It’s nice to see the squad system working effectively and player depth is crucial to the success of any campaign as we work around the inevitable A broken wrist will keep player suspension and injury. -
