With North Wellington being eighth in the Central League and Petone sitting ninth, this is a big day for both teams in the search for valuable points. Petone, with a recent loss to Miramar and being knocked out of the Chatham Cup, now need to focus hard on the league and play to their full potential. Our Women’s First Team’s first home game of 2021 on May 8 resulted in their first three points of the season and they followed that up a win in the first round of the Kate Sheppard Cup on May 16. They play Wairarapa on the May 22 before their game against Vic Uni – we look forward to how many points they can get from those two games. It is fantastic to have the Wellington Phoenix back at Sky Stadium for the first time in over 12 months. They have been playing some great football at their new home over in Aussie – let’s hope they bring their best game back to Wellington and provide some great entertainment to their loyal supporters who will no doubt be at the game in record numbers. A big thanks to Craig Deadman who last week ran a very successful club quiz night. So many great volunteers and sponsors made the night very enjoyable and generated some much-needed funds for our Under 19 programme. Congratulations to Leicester City fans winning the FA Cup against a formidable Chelsea, and we now look forward to the Champions League final – hard to pick a favourite, but I guess we will hear from the fans of each club as to if they will get the win. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS! Our sponsors provide a huge amount of financial support to our club – we must reciprocate with our thanks and use their services in our business or personal lives as much as we can.
