Not only is the four-year wait for the next FIFA World Cup™ almost over, but at last the world is getting ready to enjoy the fi rst such tournament to be played on African soil. Six years ago, when we took our most prestigious competition to Africa, there was plenty of joy and anticipation on the African continent. But almost inevitably, there was also doubt and scepticism from many parts of the world.
