Round 2 Monday 5 June 2017 Alex Moore Park Turf, Johnsonville VS Ngatiawa Russell Lodge New Plymouth Rangers AFC North Wellington AFC Mens Premier Kick off 2pm BBQ available during the game thanks to Wellington Hospitality Group. All proceeds going towards the club, please make sure you grab a burger! Monday, 5 June 2017 Chatham Cup Programme – NWAFC vs NPRAFC Page 1 of 7 Welcome, It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to Alex Moore Park for this important ISPS Handa Chatham Cup match as we host New Plymouth Rangers. As the largest senior club in the Wellington region we are pleased and proud to offer footballing opportunities for players of all ages and stages on the football spectrum. The Northern Hills Pathway has been an important initiative for football development in our area. We are working together with the Onslow and North Wellington junior football clubs, Newlands and Onslow Colleges, to create a player pathway for footballers of any ability. This is one of the most significant pieces of work ever embarked upon. Although in its early stages, all 5 organisations agreeing to work together and collaborate with the aim of promoting the best interests of footballers is a worthy objective which will have positive ramifications for years to come. Our partnership with the Ngatiawa Russell Masonic Lodge and their sponsorship of our Men’s Premier team has been a very positive experience. This alliance has increased the profile of our club while also promoting the opportunity to become involved in Freemasonry. The recent announcement by Just Paterson Real Estate of their sponsorship of our Men’s Reserve and Third teams has been equally well received.

The First Word My blood is red… and gold! Well it was an interesting Easter break that saw the ―Prems‖ earn a last minute penalty to record an away draw at Marist. It was a game the coaching staff and players felt we did enough to win but football’s all about finishing and perhaps an away point is better than a loss! And then for the Chatham Cup game on Monday Besim was able to rest a couple of senior players and blood some youth as we cruised past the hapless Naenae side 4 nil. It was an emphatic victory based on our quick passing game. It’s nice to see the squad system working effectively and player depth is crucial to the success of any campaign as we work around the inevitable A broken wrist will keep player suspension and injury.

It’s been a promising start for pretty much all teams in 2014. Sure it’s early days but there’s a nice positive vibe around the club. The Prems signaled their intentions with a good start against Miramar but a hiccup at a windswept and very uninviting Karori Park saw us suffer a 1-2 loss. Refreshing to be back at Hutt Park with a game against the vastly different Island Bay side from the Ole inspired teams of the last couple of seasons. They haven’t had the best start but to be fair have come up against two of the league favourites. And Island Bay are a big club with huge player depth so today will be a massive challenge! Our 2nd team are unbeaten and also come up against Island Bay today on #2. The 3rds have also had a good start to their season with two from two.

Liquid IT Petone vs Waterside Karori Central League 2020 | 3pm, Saturday July 11 | Memorial Park Powerex Petone vs Waterside Karori W-League 2020 | 1pm, Saturday July 18 | Memorial Park Proudly supporting Petone FC liquidit.nz Chairman’s Corner elcome Waterside Karori to Petone FC and welcome all of our loyal Wsupporters as well as opposition supporters. A quick recap of the last two weekends – our Liquid IT Men’s First Team had a loss and a draw and now sit mid-table, Reserves two good wins, Third Team two losses and Fourth Team two wins and sit nicely on top of the Wellington 3 table. Our Powerex Women’s First Team had two wins and sit near the top of the W-League, Reserves two losses and U18 Team a win and a loss, so this development team is going really well. Our closed-shop teams had a mix of results over the two weeks. But from the vibe in the clubrooms, they are all loving being out playing football again. With a full round of games for all of our teams except masters this week due to the school holidays, we have an exciting weekend ahead of us. The main game today is our Liquid IT Petone Men’s First Team against Waterside Karori – both teams needing points to rise up the league table. The curtain raiser is Petone Reserves versus Waterside Karori Third Team – so hopefully a lot of support for both teams here today. And continuing the theme, next weekend (July 18) our Powerex Women’s First Team also host Waterside Karori.

2014 Official Programme Men’s Premier: Stop Out vs Waterside. Sat 28th June Women’s Premier: Stop Out vs Wgtn United. Just over the half way point in the season for our teams, although our Women’s Premier have just three games remaining—don’t ask why! And it’s wonderful to see that both our first teams sit atop their respective Premier Leagues. It mirrors last year’s performance where we won both the Men’s and Women’s Capital Premier titles. Bu there’s a lot of footy to be played and a lot of 50-50’s to be contested before any celebration can begin—let alone thought about. But better to be first in the league than last! Today’s opposition Waterside can attest to that. Only a couple of weeks ago they were in the Cup and unbeaten in the league. Sometimes the difference between a win or a loss can be a marginal decision, a few suspensions and a few injuries! But as our first round loss to them confirms, Wharfies are still one of the 3 favourites with Stop Out and Wellington United—to win the Premier League The nuisance of Miramar and Olympic 2nd teams in Capital Premier just confuses the push to win the league as they can’t gain promotion into Central league.
