SCHOOL OF ROCK QUEENS, NY READY TO ROCK N’ ROLL Grand opening event includes live music and free trial lessons

Queens, NY – Oct. 9 – , a leader in performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of its school in the Queens community. The grand opening will take place at 34-43 Francis Lewis Blvd., Bayside, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17th. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), it will be an afternoon filled with live music and free trial lessons. COVID precautions will be taken with proper social distancing and masks required.

School of Rock Queens is owned by Tom Vidal. He joined his first band when he was 13 years old. Vidal later graduated from Shenandoah University with a degree in music therapy and a minor in classical guitar performance. After Vidal saw his kids do so well at School of Rock Roslyn, he decided to open his own location in Bayside. He is currently a member of the classic rock cover band Crossing Sunrise.

“My wife Tatiana and I have lived in the neighborhood for 10-years, and we have always felt that Queens was a close-knit, family oriented community and an ideal location for a rock based music school,” said Vidal. “During the height of the pandemic, families turned to classic rock as “comfort music” to help cope with the extended lockdown. We’re very excited to be able to provide a safe, socially distant way for our students to play and perform together again.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as , , and . Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as , The Voice and Broadway.

“There is a lot of heart and soul that goes into School of Rock,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “Tom Vidal is someone who embodies this spirit. His passion about music as a gigging musician informs and inspires his effort. I look forward to watching his students thrive through music education and live performances.”
