THE CITY OF BARTLETT ADDS NEW LOCAL CONTENT TO U-VERSE TV PUBLIC, EDUCATION AND GOVERNMENT (PEG) PROGRAMMING

PEG channels added to U-verse TV in Bartlett

BARTLETT, TENN., FEB. 14, 2013 —AT&T Tennessee, along with The City of Bartlett, today announced that Public, Education and Government (PEG) programming is now carried on AT&T U- verse® TV Channel 99 throughout all of Bartlett, and Shelby County. AT&T U-verse launched in Tennessee in December 2008. The launch of AT&T U-verse services, including AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice, is part of an ongoing expansion of AT&T U-verse availability.

“We are pleased to see the PEG programming extended to U-verse TV viewers in Bartlett and Shelby County,” said Senator Brian Kelsey. “PEG programming carried by AT&T U-verse TV on Channel 99 will provide Bartlett subscribers with direct access to valuable programming that will keep our residents informed about city meetings and other important arts and educational programs in the area.”

“Making this programming available on Channel 99 shows AT&T’s continued commitment to invest in Tennessee and support our educational initiatives,” said Representative Ron Lollar.

“The introduction of this PEG channel is a real plus for Shelby County and I am pleased to see this kind of investment coming into the community,” said Mayor Keith McDonald. “Consumers always benefit when they have a choice among competitive products and services and nothing is better than keeping our Bartlett community informed.”

PEG programming on U-verse TV is conveniently located on U-verse TV channel 99, as well as in the U-verse TV Main Menu for all U-verse TV subscribers, which enables all U-verse TV customers in Shelby County and Bartlett to view. This allows programmers to have a larger audience to show their content, while increasing overall access by allowing consumers to learn about issues outside their own community.

“We are delighted to see this local programming available through AT&T U-verse TV,” said John Threadgill, president, Bartlett Chamber of Commerce. “We’d also like to thank Senator Brian Kelsey, Representative Ron Lollar and Mayor Keith McDonald whose public policy efforts and support for education will continue to encourage technology investments throughout Tennessee.”

“AT&T will continue to enhance the capabilities of U-verse on a regular basis,” said Chuck Thomas III, regional director, external affairs, AT&T Tennessee. “The PEG programming available on channel 99 and through the Main Menu of U-verse TV provides our Tennessee U-verse TV customers access to insightful and locally-based programming.”
