WarnerMedia Institute for Future Leaders (WMI) is a week-long intensive ?All Things WarnerMedia? summer leadership institute for Georgia high school students. This year?s institute was held from June 21st through June 25th for 71 high school students from across the state of Georgia. Due to COVID-19 and campus closures, the institute took place virtually this year, integrating an institute-specific module in 21CL's online learning platform Leadership Connect. WarnerMedia Institute for Future Leaders takes our leaders through an exploration of media careers while they connect with WarnerMedia professionals and gain from their insights and experiences with HBO Max, CNN, sports media, production, multicultural marketing and representation, and game development. WarnerMedia's support provides this life-changing experience at no cost to the students.

If you could honor one speaker, leader or volunteer this week, who would it be and why? "It is almost impossible to choose one speaker from this program to honor because they were all incredible, (and I'm sure we would all choose Carl Azuz in a heartbeat, and everyone enjoyed Wendy's energy) but I really did think Courtney Freedman's session really gave me more insight on more jobs in the industry that I didn't know about, and I would love to honor her and give her a great 21CL thank you." - Kennedy Levister, South Cobb HS, Class of 2021

"I would honor Jasmine Adams because she gave us multiple examples of different careers that are in the industry. I love how she said there?s not only 1 career in the industry that you HAVE to stick to, but there?s multiple things. Hearing her story gave me fuel to do more research about industry professions. I enjoyed listening and connecting with her. " - Kyla Jefferson, Pebblebrook HS, Class of 2021

"Morgann Mitchell inspired me because her college sports life is basically what I want to do and she proved that it is possible." - Lailah Simmons, Dutchtown HS, Class of 2021

"If I could honor one speaker it would be Dennis Williams because I related so much to his upbringing since I am going to accomplish many firsts in my family; which is a lot of pressure considering they have high expectations for me. But, hearing his story and seeing him in person made me realize that if he could do it so could I." - Lizbeth Sandoval, Newton College & Career Academy, Class of 2021 WARNERMEDIA INSPIRING YOUTH TO LEAD Volunteers Continued
