Multicultural EVENTS 1685 TRANSPORT Communities > SALA 266 This year we acknowledged 45 years of servicing multicultural South Australia, with our humble beginnings VISITS > INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY PARTICIPANTS going back 70 years to the establishment of the Good Neighbour Council. We are proud of our long history as the peak Multicultural Agency in > NARACOORTE SOCCER CARNIVAL 26,378 > YOUTH DROP IN of South KILOMETRES TRAVELLED South Australia, supporting and enabling our communities over many years. > ENGAGEMENT THROUGH SPORT AND MUSIC This important milestone was recognised by the Governor and Mrs Le with a reception at Government Australia House, and a Sunday afternoon celebration at the Migration Museum for all our members, volunteers both past and present, and friends of the Multicultural Communities Council of SA (MCCSA) to enjoy. The occasion was filled with much fond reminiscing of yesteryears and good wishes for our future. HALL AND

We have in place a Strategic Plan, which provides direction towards achieving our stated vision of an TRAINING equitable, cohesive and thriving South Australia. Over the past twelve months the Board and Staff of the ROOM ADVOCACY MCCSA have continued to work across the Strategic Plan building a stronger and brighter future for our USAGE member organisations and contributing to the broader South Australian community. > ROYAL COMMISSION INTO PROJECTS AGED CARE QUALITY AND SAFETY The MCCSA program base continues to grow and diversify, not only supporting Government and community > WASTE MANAGEMENT > REVIEW OF THE SAMEAC ACT needs but also assisting Private Industry in meeting their access and equity obligations. As we continue to offer more programs our own organisational accommodation needs are increasing, both in the CBD and north of SUCCESSFUL Adelaide. COMMUNITIES

This year, we have seen our country ravaged with rampant bush fires, floods, and a once in a lifetime pandemic. We have all read about pandemics in our history books, but never before experienced them first 16 SESSIONS hand until 2020! All of us were affected in some way, and there was an immediate need to change how we > GOVERNANCE worked and lived. We were forced to accelerate and embrace new technologies overnight. Our programs MULTICULTURAL > LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT moved from face to face, to using a multimedia, multimodal approach, using Zoom, virtual networks, COVID 19 MEN’S GROUP Facebook, Ethnic Radio, Twitter and good old fashioned phone. SUPPORT COMMUNICATION The past few months have been extraordinary, there have been many good stories to tell but also ones 2 EVENTS of sadness and despair of being away from loved ones. During this time, the MCCSA has been there 216 > MCCSA 5EBI MONTHLY supporting our members with up to date information, guidance and program support and also working PARTICIPANTS RADIO PROGRAM with Government Agencies in meeting community needs. We congratulate our Ethnic Communities for > COMMUNITY VOICES supporting their own during the COVID period and they continue to do so as life returns to the new normal.
