Graeme Swan and Tim Curry What gives programmes the best chance of success?

Good project management is a mix of strong project discipline and personal energy. When programmes reach a certain size, personal energy alone is not sufficient to ensure success. This presentation will explore what gives programmes the best chance of success and the audience will be invited to validate the arguments put forward. Graeme Swan and Tim Curry will share their vast experience of working on some of most complex programmes to be delivered in the UK and aboard with you.

Our Speakers

Graeme Swan – Ernst & Young Partner Graeme Swan leads Ernst & Young’s Government Sector within Advisory. Graeme has 16 years experience of delivering complex projects in the Public Sector and Financial Services.

Prior to Ernst & Young, Graeme was with Accenture for 11 years in the Government and Financial Services practices. He has worked on programmes in the UK, South Africa and across Europe.

His experience includes: • Leading major engagements from procurement through to service delivery, within the Home Office, Olympics, Office for National Statistics and Department of Health • Leading the Criminal Justice Practice including large IT implementation programmes for the Department for Constitutional Affairs, Criminal Justice IT and Home Office • Programme Manager for the implementation of SAP across the largest retail bank in Africa. Transition Manager for the deployment of South Africa’s first on-line bank • Head of the eGovernment Solution Centre which delivered projects to OGC, PITO, Welsh Assembly, Royal Mail, DVLA and Inland Revenue • Large scale systems integration experience both in the UK and

overseas across most of the development lifecycle.

Graeme lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and three children.

Tim Curry – Ernst & Young Executive Director Tim leads Ernst & Young’s IT Advisory Programme Delivery team. Tim has 15 years experience of large scale systems integration and delivery of major programmes, all of which whether cost reduction or business transformation have used IT as the key enabler.

Prior to Ernst & Young, Tim worked with IBM, Capgemini, and several years in operational roles including two years as MD for a BPO organisation. His career and roles has taken him across the globe with projects in Europe, Eastern Europe, South Africa, USA and Canada.

His experience includes: • Programme Manager or Director roles with major IT enabled change programmes, cost reduction and business transformation initiatives for UK Government. Clients include FCO, DWP, HMRC, IPS, NPIA and MET Police • Multiple Programme Leadership roles across financial services (principally Insurance), automotive and manufacturing. • Several CIO agenda assignments including strategy, cost reduction, organisation definition and TOM

Tim lives on the Surrey/Sussex boarders with his wife and two children, an enthusiast of the outdoors, motorcycling and sailing.
