The average* student who transfer to Hunter College achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.21 The average* student who transfers to Hunter College has completed 69 credits Maximum credits accepted from associates degree granting institutions is 70 credits Maximum credits accepted from bachelor’s degree granting institutions is 90 credits Transfer students must have a minimum GPA of 2.25 to be considered for admission
*Average GPA is not a minimum requirement, students are routinely admitted with GPA’s above and below this number.
Admission Requirements Take the CUNY/ACT Skills Assessment Test and Compass Mathematics Placement Test in reading and writing. (Transfer students who have completed a three credit college-level English or Math course with a grade of C or better are exempt from the CUNY reading and writing exams and/or math exams)
CUNY Pathways & General Education Requirements If you have earned an Associates of Arts (AA) or an Associates of Science (AS) you are waived from CUNYs common core and half of their individual college option requirements.
If you have earned an Associates of Applied Sciences (AAS) you are waived from pathway courses that you have completed at LaGuardia.
If you have NOT completed an associate’s degree, CUNY senior colleges will require you to complete up to 12 credits as part of their college option.

Generic Nursing Pre-Requisite Requirements Student must file a separate application for admission to the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing through Nursing CAS on https://portal.nursingcas.org
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (typically, admitted students have a GPA of at least 3.7)
No repeated science or math prerequisite courses will be considered as part of the application
750-word essay/goal statement required
Take National League of Nursing (NLN) RN pre-admission test
Complete the following pre-requisites with a minimum grade of “B” in all science and math * CHEM 100/101 General Chemistry with lab (LaGuardia: SCC 201 and SCC 202 with lab) * CHEM 120/121 Organic Chemistry with lab (LaGuardia: SCC 251 and SCC 252 with lab) * STAT 113 Introduction to Statistics (LaGuardia: MAT 120) * ENGL 120 English Composition (LaGuardia: ENG 101) * PSYCH 100 General Psychology (LaGuardia: SSY 101) * PSYCH 150 Developmental Psychology of the lifespan * HIST 151 or HIST 152 US History (LaGuardia: SSH 101) NOTE: Visit www.hunter.cuny.edu/nursing for additional RN to BSN and Accelerated RN program requirements. Psychology Major Pre-Requisite Requirements Complete STA 113 Introduction to Statistics with a minimum grade of “C” (LaGuardia: MAT 120)
Education Major Pre-Requisite Requirements Student must file a separate application for admission to the Hunter School of Education (Transfer students with AA and AS degree AND a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better may be considered directly into the School of Education)
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Complete ENGL 120 English Composition with a minimum grade of “B” (LaGuardia: ENG 101)
Community Health Major Pre-Requisite Requirements Student must file a separate application for admission to the major Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 Minimum 60 credits completed Community Health - BS: STA 113 and one semester biology with lab (LaGuardia: MAT 120 and SCB 201)
