Weathervane Playhouse will be holding auditions for the 2015 Summer Season. Weathervane Playhouse is Ohio’s longest running professional theatre, producing award winning summer productions since 1969. Auditions will be held at the Weathervane Playhouse in Newark, Ohio at the following dates and times:

CHARATER BREAKDOWN

RENT Rehearsals & Performances: 5/20/15-6/13/15

MARK COHEN: 20s. Baritone/Second Tenor. A filmmaker who has left behind his affluent upbringing to pursue his craft.

ROGER DAVIS: 20s. Rock Tenor. Former drug addict searching for answers through one last song.

MIMI MARQUEZ: 20s. Raw voice with high belt. Vulnerable yet defiant young woman who is struggling with drug addiction.

TOM COLLINS: 20s / early 30s. Baritone. Former roommate of Mark, Roger, and Benny.

BENNY: 20s. Baritone/second tenor. Went to college with Mark. Lived with Roger, Collins, Maureen and Mark. Married into a wealthy family.

ANGEL: 20s. High tenor with good falsetto. Outgoing, flamboyant, yet honest and caring individual living on the New York Streets with AIDS.

MAUREEN JOHNSON: 20s. Large vocal range. A performance artist who is not as good as she thinks and slightly self-centered.

JOANNE JEFFERSON: 20s to 30s. Pop belt. Harvard grad with affluent upbringing. Has an insecure relationship with Maureen.

ENSEMBLE (20s-30s): Great actors/singers who move well to play various characters including: Joanne’s Dad/Mom, Mark’s & Roger’s Mom, Life Support Group, Squeegee Man, Soloist, and more.

ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS: Rehearsals & Performances: 6/3/15- 6/27/15

*Note: Singing may be required for all or some roles; playing a musical instrument may also be an asset. English accent is required.

FRANCIS HENSHALL: 30s-40s. A “tricky and cheeky” servant juggling two masters. Must have great comedic timing.

PAULINE CLENCH: 20s-30s. A “wide-eyed, innocent; not bright but perky” young woman with good comic timing.

HARRY DANGLE: 40s to 60s. A “crooked solicitor with posh pretentions” who can play various styles.

ALAN DANGLE: 30s. A “self-important actor” with good comic timing and style.

DOLLY: 30s. A “smart-mouthed” servant/feminist secretary.

LLOYD BOATENG: 40s-50s. An p-beat entrepreneur/black male with a Jamaican accent.

RACHEL CRABBE: 20s. Dresses to disguise herself as dead twin brother, Roscoe. Must have great comic timing.

STANLEY STUBBERS: 20s. A “tall, handsome, not bright”, public school nitwit

ALFIE: 25-40. A good physical comedian. Gymnastic skills a plus.

THE PAJAMA GAME: Rehearsals & Performances: 6/17/15-7/11/15

BABE WILLIAMS: 20s 30s. Alto/Mezzo/High Belt. Tough factory worker and head of the “Grievance Committee”. Falls in love with Sid Sorokin.

GLADYS: 20s-40s. Mezzo. Secretary to Mr. Hasler, good dancer with strong comedic skills.

MABEL: 30s to 50s. Alto. Secretary to Hines, a confident to Sid and comedic timing a plus.

SID SOROKIN: 20s-30s. Baritone/Tenor. Smart, tough superintendent that falls in love with Babe.

PREZ: 20s-30s. Tenor. Bright, energetic, president of the union who is always flirting with young girls.

VERNON HINES: 20s-50s. Baritone. A time keeping enthusiast who runs the to the second. Terribly jealous of Gladys.

MR.HASLER: 40s / 60s. Head of the factory who runs a tight ship and has disciplined authority.

ENSEMBLE MEN & WOMEN: 20s to 30s. Dancer/Excellent Movers and Singers who are the energetic work force of the factory and play multiple additional roles.

DIAL M FOR MURDER: Rehearsals & Performances: 7/1/15-7/25/15

MARGOT WENDICE - a wealthy housewife who has no knowledge her husband knows of a past affair.

MAX HALLIDAY - American television murder mystery writer who had an affair with Margot.

TONY WENDICE - A former professional tennis player who married Margot for her money and is jealous of her previous affair with Max.

CAPTAIN LESGATE - Tony's classmate from Cambridge who is a convicted criminal and being blackmailed.

INSPECTOR HUBBARD - A slightly eccentric police detective.

THOMPSON - A policeman.

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT: Rehearsals & Performances: 7/15/15-8/8/15

BILLIE BENDIX: 20s - 30s. Soprano/Mezzo Belt. A tough and smart/streetwise rum runner with her best Cookie and Duke. She has lived in a man’s world until she meets Jimmy, a millionaire playboy, and falls in love. Must move very well.

COOKIE McGEE: 30s - mid 40s. A fast-talking bootlegger who can talk you in or out of anything. Must be able to take on a “vaudeville” style of character acting.

DUKE MAHONEY: 30s - 40s. Cookie’s sidekick. Not the brightest guy around who is shy with women.

SENATOR MAX EVERGREEN: 50s-60s. A stuffy and humorless politician who is also Eileen’s father. Non-singing.

EILEEN EVERGREEN: 20s - mid 30s. Strong belt/mix, young fiancé of Jimmy who is the self-proclaimed finest interpreter of modern dance in the world – as well as being spoiled rotten and completely self-involved. Must move very well.

MILLICENT WINTER: 50s-60s. Jimmy’s mother. Is a “full-of-life” millionaire who lives life to the fullest.

ESTONIA DULWORTH, DUCHESS OF WOODFORD: 40s - late 50s. Soprano with belt mix. An adamant prohibitionist with an underneath desire to break free.

JEANNIE MULDOON: 20s. Mezzo belt. Chorus girl from Brooklyn who falls in love with Duke (whom she thinks is the Duke of England) -- not too bright, but winning. Should move very well.

CHIEF BERRY: 40s. Baritone. Chief of the Long Island Police Department and fiercely dedicated to his job. Rough on the outside.

JIMMY WINTER: . A wealthy, handsome playboy who is about to be married but meets Billie who changes everything. Played by Mathew Broderick on Broadway.
