Glympse, a Seattle-based start-up, is looking for a web platform engineer that must be thoroughly familiar and a proven contributor in the various areas of current web-based technology: Javascript, JS platforms (jQuery, /Ember, lodash/underscore, famo.us, etc.), HTML5 features (canvas, WebGL, , WebWorkers, etc), build support (bower, yeoman, AMD/require, grunt/gulp, npm, etc.), connected environments (RESTful/ real-time API support) and front-end web services (ASP.NET, node.js). Must be completely comfortable doing development anywhere in the web-app stack (from low-level browser platform interaction to cutting in new application-level UI/UX flows to build/deployment processes).

As part of the Web Platform team, you will be developing and supporting Glympse-based applications throughout the entire Glympse partner ecosystem, with 10s of millions of users using your code on a monthly basis. Leveraging a wide variety of technologies, you will help to bring new applications, features, and platforms to the rapidly expanding HTML5-based environment of application development.

Candidates should also have a strong background in general CS (or equivalent) theory and practices. They should also be acutely aware of the challenges of mobile web.

Responsibilities for this position will include:

- Contribute to both design and implementation on core Glympse web-based platforms, applications, and sites to be used by Glympse client applications as well as a wide range of partners. - Build and extend on core Glympse viewing experiences - Prototype and develop vertical web-based products that leverage Glympse’s core real-time location- tracking functionality

Preferred Qualifications:

- Active and demonstrable work on the the latest of web-based technologies, with a focus on the challenges of the mobile web - References to shipped products that represent your skillset - 3+ years’ experience in production-level software development - Familiar with client-based technologies (iOS, Android, BB10, WinPhone, Windows, OSX) - Strong understanding of client-server development in a mobile environment - BS in Computer Science or related degree, or work history equivalent

Start-up experience for potential candidates is important (i.e., involvement with a prior start-up/incubation/ v.1 inside a larger corporation), but not required. - Flexibility goes a long ways at Glympse. Everyone in the company is naturally flexible across roles/ responsibilities, across functions and vertically within functions. We need people to do whatever job needs doing – running a test script, writing a prototype, developing a new feature, etc. - We follow a sprint model in a loose Agile approach for all of our products. Candidates should be well- versed in, or at the very least familiar with, this style of management.
