Typescripts of letters to Governor Gayle of Alabama from the 1830s also mention some of the political issues of the day. Typescripts of a personal letter to John McKee, a letter to Governor A. P. Bagby, and his resignation to Governor Benjamin Fitzpatrick can also be found in this series.
