To Lille Transportations Details Carbon Care Reduction : transportation examples from your place to Lille Please find some examples of transportation from your place to Lille in the table below, which aim to show that taking the plane to come to Lille is not always the best choice. Because using the train not only emits less greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, but may be also faster than the plane, when we take into account the checking time (from 30mn to 1 hour) spent at airport, or car. It is the case for cities as Paris (France), Aachen (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), Birmingham and Brighton (United Kingdom). This is not the case for Toulouse (France). the table consists four parts, and each part is elaborated as below: 1. Departure : your place, 2. Transport : which transport type (train and/or plane and/or car) is used for the journey, 3. CO2 emission (kg) and ratio : CO2 equivalent greenhouse gas emissions (in kg) for the one-way - journey, based on our own estimation tool. In the case of train used in our journey, it always emits the less, so emissions of other transport types are also computed as a ratio over the emissions by train , e.g. (x10) . Emissions are colored, 4. Duration of the journey from your place to Lille. It includes the time spent between stages, and the checking time both for plane and Eurostar trains. To be more clearly, different colors are used to represent the shortest time (green), a longer time (yellow), or the much longer or longest time (red). CO2 Departure Transport equivalent emission (kg) Duration and ratio vs. train Aachen Train 9 2h29 (Germany) Car 57 (x6) 3h20 Train 18 4h10 Birmingham Plane & Train 131 (×7) 4h22 (UK) Car 103 (×6) 5h50 Train 14 3h24 Brighton Plane & Train & Car 120 (×9) 4h28 (UK) Car 70 (×5) 4h04 Brussels Train 4 35mn (Belgium) Car 24 (×6) 1h16 Train 18 4h34 Grenoble Plane & Car & Bus 166 (x9) 3h04 (France) Car 173 (x10) 8h24 Train 12 2h57 Lyon Plane & Bus 146 (x12) 2h05 (France) Car 150 (x12) 7h22 Paris Train 5 1h (France) Car 48 (x10) 2h32 Train 18 7h19 Toulouse Plane & Bus 205 (x11) 2h20 (France) Car 194 (x11) 10h07 EPE'13 ECCE Europe - Aachen (Germany) to Lille transportations details Aachen (Germany) to Lille transportation details AACHEN (AIX LA CHAPELLE railway station) → BRUXELLES MIDI (railway station) → LILLE Train EUROPE (railway station), using the TGV high-speed train. SUMMARY OF DISCUSSIONS Workshop on Implementation of the New Global Reporting Format (GRF) for Runway Surface Conditions - ICAO EUR Region (Paris, France, 10-11 July 2019) 1. Introduction 1.1. The Workshop on Implementation of the New Global Reporting Format (GRF) for Runway Surface Conditions in the ICAO EUR Region was held at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office in Paris, France from 10 to 11 July 2019. 1.2. The list of participants and contact list are provided at Appendix A and Appendix B. A total of 98 experts from 29 States, 5 International Organizations (ACI, CANSO, EASA, IATA and ICAO), 1 Airline and 1 Industry participated in the workshop. The workshop agenda is at Appendix C. 1.3. The Secretariat of the workshop was Mr. Chris Keohan assisted by Mr. Abbas Niknejad and Ms. Natalia Savvina from the ICAO EUR/NAT Office. 2. Overview of GRF 2.1. The subject was addressed in PPT/01 presented by Andrew Badham (United Kingdom). A description of the GRF methodology, both ground and airborne aspects, history and development process was provided. 2.2. It was noted that the Aerodrome Design and Operations Panel (ADOP) was tasked to address the ICAO Air Navigation Commission Job Card AP001: Runway surface conditions have contributed to many safety events and investigations have revealed shortfalls in the accuracy and timeliness of assessment and reporting methods currently provided in ICAO provisions and guidance material. This task was assigned to the Runway Friction Task Force (FTF) of ADOP, which developed the GRF. GRF provides a common language of contaminant types, runway condition codes and direct input to performance assessment.

  • European Hub Airports – Assessment of Constraints for Market Power in the Local Catchment and on the Transfer Market
Technische Universität Dresden Fakultät Verkehrswissenschaften „Friedrich List” Institut für Wirtschaft und Verkehr DISSERTATION European Hub Airports – Assessment of Constraints for Market Power in the Local Catchment and on the Transfer Market zur Erlangung des akademischen Grades Doctor rerum politicarum (Dr. rer. pol.) im Rahmen des Promotionsverfahrens an der Fakultät Verkehrswissenschaften „Friedrich List“ der Technischen Universität Dresden vorgelegt von: Annika Paul, geb. Reinhold geb. am 30.09.1981 in Gifhorn Gutachter: Prof. Dr. rer. pol. habil. Bernhard Wieland Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Hans-Martin Niemeier Ort und Tage der Einreichung: Dresden, 23. Januar 2018 Ort und Tag der Verteidigung: Dresden, 04. Juni 2018 Abstract Airports have long been considered as an industry in which firms are able to exert significant market power. Nowadays, there is controversial discussion whether airports face a degree of competition which is sufficient to constrain potentially abusive behaviour resulting from this market power. The level of competition encountered by European airports has hence been evaluated by analysing the switching potential of both airlines and passengers between different airports, for example. The research within this thesis contributes to the field of airport competition by analysing the degree of potential competition 36 European hub airports face on their origin-destination market in their local catchments as well as on the transfer market within the period from 2000 to 2016. For this purpose, a two-step approach is applied for each market, with first analysing the degree of market concentration, using the Herfindahl Hirschman Index as a measure, for each destination offered at the hub airports and the respective development over time.
