3 FAITH FORMATION

C HILDREN Home is Holy: On a journey with Jesus The word of God is not always easy to accept and understand. Many of Jesus’ followers turned away when they could not understand the new life to which he was calling them. Jesus calls us to follow him and have faith in him, wherever our journey leads us. When you encounter difficulties, talk to your children about how your faith in God helps you through tough times. And don’t forget to thank God for the blessings on your journey as well! Today, children at the 9 am will receive a toy camera filled with reminders that God is with us always! Religious Education Classes, Pre School-Gr. 8, begin Sept. 23. Register Today! Back-to-school time is also back to Religious Education time. Religious Education classes begin the week of September 23. To register for Religious Education, just go to https://tinyurl.com/SJF-RE2018-19. Catechists are still needed! VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children and Keeping the Promise Alive Programs Since 2004, more than 800 members of St. John Fisher Parish have attended VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children” and “Keeping the Promise Alive” Sexual Abuse Awareness workshops. Thank you for helping to make our parish a safer place for all God’s children! The programs are intended to increase awareness of the behavior of those who might wish to harm our children. “Protecting God’s Children” is required of all those who volunteer with children, and strongly rec- ommended for all adults. “Keeping the Promise Alive” is a refresher class, for those who attended a session four or more years ago. SJF will offer “Protecting God’s Children” on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7-9 pm, and Friday, Sept 14, 7-9 pm. “Keeping the Promise Alive” will be offered Saturday, September 15, 9-10:30 am. Please contact Margaret Johnson to register. Attendees must be at least 18 years of age—children are not permitted.
