She knows she is the worthy heir to her father’s art so now it is no longer Estrella Morente in concert but Morente in Concert. Her voice, difficult to classify, has the gift of deifying any musical register she proposes. Although strongly influenced by her father’s art, Estrella likes to include her own things: fados, coplas, sevillanas, blues, jazz… ESTRELLA can’t be described described with words. Looking at her, listening to her and feeling her is the only way to experience her art in an intimate way. Her voice vibrates between the ethereal and the earthly like a presence that mutates between reality and the beyond. All those who have the chance to spend a while in her company will never forget it for they know they have been part of an inexplicable phenomenon. Tonight she offers us the best of her art.     Chanter en français et rencontrer un succès international est-il possible ? (article paru dans Langue et Cultures Françaises et Francophones (lcff) de juin 2016, reproduit avec l’autorisation de Mme Florence Teste, directrice de publication, et de l’auteur) La question s’est posée à l’occasion de la soixante-et-unième édition du Concours Eurovision de la chanson qui s’est tenue le samedi 14 mai à Stockholm (Suède). En effet, tous les candidats ont interprété leur chanson avec des paroles en anglais sauf la candidate autrichienne Zoë avec un texte intégralement chanté en français pour le titre Loin d’ici. La France, représentée par le chanteur franco-israélien Amir Haddad, « Amir », avait choisi une chanson bilingue intitulée J’ai cherché. Interprétée sur une musique pop, similaire à celle de la chanteuse autrichienne, il m'a paru intéressant de savoir comment les deux chansons ont été reçues. À l’issue du concours, le représentant français a très largement devancé la candidate autrichienne dans le classement général puisqu’il a terminé sixième contre treizième pour la chanteuse. Lorsqu’on analyse les deux classements qui, additionnés, ont servi à l’établissement du classement général, son avance est encore plus nette pour le classement des points attribués par les jurys nationaux de professionnels : troisième pour Amir contre vingt-quatrième pour la chanteuse autrichienne (sur vingt-six pays participants). Elle a obtenu ses plus grands nombres de points de la part des jurys français et hollandais. Les résultats sont très différents pour l’autre classement établi à partir des points attribués par les téléspectateurs.

A lawyer for Carlin Q. Williams, who is from Kansas City, lodged an objection to a court filing by Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson who said the singer had no children. Williams is serving a sentence for gun posses- sion in a stolen car and is not due to leave the high-security federal prison in Florence, Colorado until late 2020. His mother, Marsha Henson, submitted a sworn statement saying that she met the singer-whose full name is Prince Rogers Nelson-at a Kansas City hotel in July 1976. The two drank and then he took her to his room at the now defunct Midwest Hotel where they had unprotected sex, she said. The lawyer requested a DNA test to determine whether Prince was the father of Williams. The petition claims that Williams “believes he is or may be the sole surviving legal heir” of the music legend, who died suddenly at age 57 on April 21 without leaving any known will.
