II. Public View Points: Joe Sandarciero and Pat Grady came to discuss and get an update on the second grade program. Superintendent Bertolacci notified them and the council that the numbers in the rookie league have been low recently. In addition, there seems to be a big discrepancy in the abilities of the 1st and second graders, therefore, the recreation department will be changing the form at for the upcoming season. The rookie league will now consist of Kindergarten and 1st Grade boys and girls. The second grade will not be part of the minor league baseball and programs which will give the second graders some more competition and address the low numbers in the minor league programs.

3.3 The first week of basketball games took place last weekend. All games went well.

3.4 CPR There were four CPR classes scheduled already. There are still a good number of coaches to be certified. I have scheduled two additional classes for coaches. They have to be booked for one of the classes prior to December 19th or they will be removed as a coach. Chairman Buzin suggested that Rocco remind coaches that if that haven’t signed up by the end of the year, that you risk be removed as a coach.

IV. Reconstitution of Subcommittees Chairman Buzin would like to circulate the committees as they existed when they were last done. He asked that council members list what committees they would like to serve on in a priority listing (1, 2 or 3). We will put on agenda for next month’s meeting.

Superintendent Bertolacci mentioned that at this point, the basketball subcommittee is too late to act on the rules.

V. Old Business: 6.1 Screens over playground – Superintendent Bertolacci will reach out to Kompan to get the plans and their proposal.

6.2 Council’s Focus – Chairman Buzin Said that he had spoken to Jeff Rednick regarding the Village Boards perception of the Recreation Council’s focus. Trustee Rednick said that the Board isz happy with the Council. They said there was nothing in particular to work on. Chairman Buzin asked the Board of they were o’k with their role. Council Member Keilman said that he would like to know about items on the Village Board agenda before the Village Board discusses them. In particular, he found out about the drainage at Pine Ridge Park only because he looked at their https://ryebrook.civicweb.net/document/24458/2018%20-%20December%204.docx?handle=EF9F967A0D4F42CD9538EB122131BB13 2/3 1/18/2019 2018 - December 4 meeting. Council member Keilman thought that the council should have discussed the item before it got to the Village Board. Superintendent Bertolacci said that in the day to day operations, it was determined that the drainage at Pine Ridge Park needed to be addressed. Superintendent Bertolacci discussed the item with Chris Bradbury and Patricia Lepre, the Village Treasurer and we determined the Little League and Recreation trust accounts were a match for this project. Moving forward, Superintendent Bertolacci will give the Recreation Council a heads up when future items from Recreation and Parks come before the Village Board on their agenda. In addition, Superintendent Bertolacci suggested that perhaps if the Recreation Council is not pleased with their role, a joint meeting with the Village Board would address this issue. The Council agreed. Superintendent Bertolacci would try to arrange the meeting.

VI. New Business: 7.1

VII. Adjournment: Chairman Buzin asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Council Member Keilman made the motion to adjourn the meeting and Council Member Mahadevan seconded the motion. All approved and the meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm. The next meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 at 7:30pm.
