All student types – first‐time‐college, transfers and continuing/returning ‐ showed significant increases. Farmingdale’s 6.8% increase in undergraduate enrollment from Fall 2015 to Fall 2016 is the largest percentage increase in undergraduate enrollment in all of SUNY. The percentage of full‐time students remains consistent at 75.2% of the total student population. Ninety‐six percent of all first‐time students are full‐time. The one‐year retention rate among first‐time, full‐time baccalaureate students increased to 81% from 79.4% in 2015, reversing the downward trend of the last 3 years. The selectivity of first‐time, full‐time baccalaureate students has decreased slightly from last year in terms of high school average (88.2) from 88.5 and SAT average (997) from 1032 for first‐time, full‐time bachelor’s degree seeking students. The percentage of minority students has increased since 2012 mainly due to increases in Hispanic and Asian students (+51.5% Hispanic and +44.7% Asian vs. 2012). The top five baccalaureate curriculums with the largest percentage increases in enrollment over 2015 are Global Business Management; Software Technology; Applied Mathematics, Aviation Administration, and Nursing. The most popular curriculums among new First‐time students are Liberal Arts & Science (33%), Science, Technology & Society (11%), and Business Management (9%). Science, Technology & Society (18%) and Business Management (14%) are the top two curriculums into which new transfers enrolled. The top three feeder high schools are Lindenhurst High School, Farmingdale High School, and Massapequa High School. However, Centereach High School, Syosset High School, and W.C. Mepham High School had the highest percentages of students accepted, among schools with multiple applicants/enrollees. The top colleges that students transferred in from are Suffolk County Community (388), Nassau Community (318), Dowling College (53), Stony Brook University (43), and Long Island University – CW Post (32). 3 Fall 2016 Enrollment: Total Student Body New First‐time Students Total Enrollment 9,235 1,329 Full‐time 6,942 1,272 Part‐time 2,293 57 Bachelor Degree 7,105 747 Associate Degree 1,375 528 Matriculated 8,591 1,281 Non‐Matriculated 644 48 Male 56.05% 54.10% Female 43.95% 45.90% Avg.
