RBYC Mini Sail Regatta January 16th and 17th 2021

NOTICE OF RACE Version 2 – 5/1/2021 The Organising Authority is Royal Brighton Yacht Club (RBYC)

1 Rules 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of (RRS). The Prescriptions and relevant Special Regulations of Australian Sailing (AS) shall apply. 2 Eligibility and Entry 2.1 The regatta is open to Optimists, 420, , RS100, Lasers, Aeros, Quests, 2.4mR, Dragons and . 2.2 The event will be the 2020 Victorian Championships for the RS100 and the 2021 Victorian Championships for the 2.4mR. 2.3 Online entry https://sailingresults.net/entry/?ID=1560299 3 Fees 3.1 Free for RBYC members; $10 for non RBYC members entered by 10th January. Late entry fee of $10 for everyone entering after 10th January. 4 Schedule 4.1 First scheduled start time for each day is 13:00. No race start after 1600 on Sunday. 5 Sailing Instructions 5.1 The Sailing Instructions will consist of RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions and Supplementary Instructions and will be emailed to entrants and available on the website. 6 The Courses 6.1 The courses will be trapezoid and/or windward-leeward 7 Safety 7.1 For each race session each boat intending to race shall “sign on” either via mobile phone or at the Regatta Office before departing the beach and shall “sign off” either via mobile phone or at the Regatta Office upon their return after racing. 7.2 Failure to sign on prior to racing or off prior to protest cutoff time will result in a 3 point penalty for the first race of the day. This changes RRS A4. 8 Scoring 8.1 One race is required to be completed to constitute a series. 8.2 When three (3) races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. 8.3 When four (4) or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 9 Prizes 9.1 Prizes will be awarded dependant on number of entries. 10 Insurance 10.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of AUD $10 Million per incident or the equivalent.
