Auch viele Segelvereine in Österreich haben das Problem zu weniger Kinder / Jugendlicher für ihre Nachwuchsarbeit.     LA LARGA- THE OFFSHORE RACE OF PALMAVELA 22ND TO 26TH OF OCTOBER, 2021 17TH REGATTA PALMAVELA 27TH TO 31ST OF OCTOBER, 2021 NOTICE OF RACE 1 ORGANIZATION The events’ Organising Authority (OA) will be the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP), supported by the Real Federacion Española de Vela (RFEV) with the institutional support of the Balearic Islands Government, Palma Town Hall, with further support of the Federación Balear de Vela, Club Nautic S’Arenal, ARAM (Mediterranean Offshore Sailor’s Association) and the Balearic Islands Port Authority. The event is included in the IMA 2021 Racing Calendar and the PalmaVela regatta is a qualifying event for the IMA Mediterranean Inshore Challenge, a qualifying regatta for ORC classes in the Circuito Mediterráneo de Vela and is the Copa de España for the Dragon Class. 2 VENUE AND DATES La Larga-The Offshore Race of Palmavela will be held in waters of the Balearic archipelago from the 22nd to the 26th of October, 2021 and the 17th edition of the PALMAVELA Regatta will be held in the waters of the Bay of Palma from the 27th to the 31st October, 2021. 3 RULES 3.1 The event will be governed by the following rules: a) Racing Rules of Sailing as defined in the WORLD SAILING 2021-2024 RRS. b) The RFEV prescriptions available on: https://www.rfev.es/uploaded_files/Document_3219_20210101121551_es.pdf c) SY Appendix of the RRS. d) The RRS 90.3 (e)(3) applies. This event was one of the most difficult events that we Check out our Support Wall !! have competed in together for some time. The conditions proved extremely challenging with the majority of the races being run in between 25-35 knots. In such a contrast to the last world cup where we sailed the majority of the races in light wind conditions, it was nice to have the same performance in the other end of the wind scale. Most of you would have seen that on day one we broke our rig, while Click to like our fan page... leading and only the final reach remaining. We managed to finish this race in 24 but it was a disappointing start to the regatta for us. At the London Challenge 2012 Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page are members of the same time, we are pleased to have had this experience along with both Australian Sailing Team and are personally Victor and Malcolm nursing colds throughout as part of our supported by: Olympic preparations. [NP] denotes that a breach of this rule will not be grounds for a protest by a boat. 1 RULES – adds to SSI: 1.2 Penalties for infraction of RRS part 4 – except those exempted by RRS 86.1 – may be less than disqualification. 1.3 RRS Appendix T will apply. 1.4 Rule 44.1 and P2.1 are changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. 2 NOTICES TO COMPETITORS – adds to SSI: 2.3 The official notice board is located in the Sail Measurement Hall, to the East of the lobby. 3 CHANGES TO THE SAILING INSTRUCTIONS – changes SSI 3.1: 3.1 Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted before 0930 on the day it will take effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted by 2000 on the day before it will take effect. 4 SIGNALS MADE ASHORE – changes SSI 4.2, adds 4.3 - 4.5: 4.2 When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced with ‘not less than 45 minutes’ in the RRS race signal AP. 4.3 The flagpole is located at the NE corner of the main building. 4.4 [DP] Boats shall NOT launch until flag D is displayed with one sound.
