Welcome to Burg Kronberg im Taunus! History of Kronberg Castle The history of Kronberg castle and its grounds begins at the end of the 12th century, when the Holy Roman Emperor ordered the knights of Eschborn to build a castle on a rocky outcrop on the southern slopes of the Taunus. The first documentary reference to the knights as the Lords of Kronberg was in 1230. A visitor to this castle complex, which with its 18,000m2 is one of the most extensive in Germany, will get a clear idea of what life used to be like at the castle. It was an economic entity with lords and their underlings and cattle, and stables, barns, a blacksmith and a bakery and a manure heap. The harvest was stored in the attic of the middle castle. At the beginning of the 19th century the economic conditions changed. Castles were now something to admire and visit. They were no longer lived in by the families who had built them. Kronberg castle comprises three castles from three eras: The Romanesque upper castle with its keep is the oldest part of the castle (circa 1170-1200). The lower castle, which has now almost disappeared from view, was built at the start of the 14th century. The middle castle has two buildings at right angles to each other and was built in the 14th and 15th century and marks the transition from a defensive to a residential castle. There have been many alterations, renovations and extensions to the castle over the centuries. However, the ground plan of the castle has remained largely unchanged since the Middle Ages.

Fuhrmann (SPD) vom 23.05.2005 betreffend öffentlich geförderter Wohnungsbau im Hochtaunuskreis und Antwort des Ministers für Wirtschaft, Verkehr und Landesentwicklung Vorbemerkung des Ministers für Wirtschaft, Verkehr und Landesentwicklung: Die Frage zielt auf den "öffentlich geförderten" Wohnungsbau ab. Als "öf- fentlich gefördert" gelten Wohnungen, wenn für deren Bau "öffentliche Mittel" im Sinne des § 6 des Zweiten Wohnungsbaugesetzes eingesetzt wur- den. Diese Wohnungen unterliegen den Vorschriften des Wohnungsbin- dungsgesetzes. Neben dem öffentlich geförderten Wohnungsbau wurde in der erfragten Zeit der Wohnungsbau mit Bundes- und Landesmitteln auch in der so genannten "Vereinbarten Förderung" oder im 2. Förderungsweg mit "nicht öffentlichen" Mitteln gefördert. Zur Vollständigkeit sind in den nach- stehenden Antworten auf die Fragen sämtliche geförderten Wohnungen im Hochtaunuskreis für den erfragten Zeitraum aufgeführt. Diese Vorbemerkung vorangestellt, beantworte ich die Kleine Anfrage wie folgt: Frage 1. Wie viele Wohnungen sind im Hochtaunuskreis öffentlich gefördert worden in den Jahren 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 und 2004? In den beigefügten Übersichten (Anlagen 1 bis 6) sind die geförderten Woh- nungen für die jeweiligen Gemeinden getrennt nach Förderungen unter An- gabe der Miethöhen aufgeführt. Frage 2. In welchen Kommunen des Hochtaunuskreises wurden wie viele Wohneinheiten gefördert? Frage 3. Wie hoch sind die Mieten pro Quadratmeter? Siehe Antwort zu Frage 1. Frage 4. Wie viele Wohnungen laufen in welchen Kommunen in den Jahren 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 aus den Bindungen? Therefore, the castle kitchen was completely gutted and equipped with state-of-the-art devices, to establish a perfect workspace for the chef and his team. “We believe that this kitchen is one of a kind here in Germany”, states Franz Zimmermann, GM of the Schlosshotel Kronberg. The refurbishment of the kitchen area aimed at changing the current kitchen space into a fully functional banquet and A-la-carte kitchen, to optimise workflow and enhance quality. “We have a great team spirit in the kitchen and the newly arranged work spaces help us in our daily work”, says head chef Joerg Lawerenz referring to his dedicated team. “And us – the restaurant team - to exceed the hotel’s high standards and our own expectations”, restaurant manager Arnaud Juillot adds.
