First Portion Exodus Chapter 19 א ַבּ ֨חֹ ֶד ֙שׁ ַה ְשּׁ ִלי ִ֔שׁי ְל ֵ ֥צאת ְבֵּ ֽני־ ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֖אל ֵמ ֶ ֣אֶרץ In the third month of the children of Israel's departure from .1
ִמ ְצָ ֑ר ִים ַבּ֣יּוֹם ַה ֶ֔זּה ָ ֖בּאוּ ִמ ְד ַ ֥בּר ִס ָ ֽיני: .Egypt, on this day they arrived in the desert of Sinai
ב ַו ִיּ ְס ֣ﬠוּ ֵ ֽמְר ִפ ִ֗ידים ַו ָיּ ֨בֹ ֙אוּ ִמ ְד ַ ֣בּר ִס ַ֔יני ַוַ ֽיּ ֲח ֖נוּ ַבּ ִמּ ְד ָ ֑בּר They journeyed from Rephidim, and they arrived in the .2 ַוִֽיּ ַחן־ ָ ֥שׁם ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֖אל ֶ ֥נ ֶ גד ָה ָ ֽהר: desert of Sinai, and they encamped in the desert, and Israel encamped there opposite the mountain.
ג וּמ ֶ ֥שׁה ָﬠ ָ ֖לה ֶא ָ ֽל־ה ֱא ִ ֑הים ַו ִיּ ְקָ ֨רא ֵא ָ ֤ליו ְי ָהוֹ ֙ה Moses ascended to God, and the Lord called to him from the .3 mountain, saying, "So shall you say to the house of Jacob and ִמ ָן־ה ָ ֣הר ֵל ֔ ֹאמר ֤כֹּה ת ֹ ַאמ ֙ר ְל ֵ ֣בית ַ ֽי ֲﬠ ֔קֹב ְו ַתֵ ֖גּיד ִל ְבֵ ֥ני ,tell the sons of Israel ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֽאל:
ד ַא ֶ ֣תּם ְר ִאי ֶ֔תם ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ָﬠ ִ ֖שׂי ִתי ְל ִמ ְצָ ֑ר ִים ָ ֽו ֶא ָ ֤שּׂא You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and [how] I bore' .4
ֶא ְת ֶכ ֙ם ַﬠ ַל־כּ ְנ ֵ ֣פי ְנ ָשִׁ ֔רים ָ ֽו ָא ִ֥בא ֶא ְת ֶ ֖כם ֵא ָ ֽלי: .you on eagles' wings, and I brought you to Me
ה ְו ַﬠ ָ֗תּה ִאם־ ָשׁ ֤מ ַוֹ ִתּ ְשׁ ְמ ֙עוּ ְבּקֹ ִ֔לי ְוּשׁ ַמְר ֶ ֖תּם And now, if you obey Me and keep My covenant, you shall .5 ֶאת־ ְבִּרי ִ ֑תי ִֽו ְהִ֨יי ֶתם ִ ֤לי ְס ֻג ָלּ ֙ה ִמ ָכּ ָ ֣ל־ה ַﬠ ִ֔מּים ִכּי־ ִ ֖לי be to Me a treasure out of all peoples, for Mine is the entire ָכּ ָל־ה ָ ֽאֶרץ: .earth ו ְו ַא ֶ ֧תּם ִֽתּ ְהיוּ־ ִ ֛לי ַמ ְמ ֶ ֥ל ֶכת ֽכֹּ ֲהִ ֖נים ְו ֣גוֹי ָק ֑דוֹשׁ ֵ֚א ֶלּה And you shall be to Me a kingdom of princes and a holy .6 ַה ְדּ ָבִ ֔רים ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ְתַּד ֵ ֖בּר ֶאל־ ְבֵּ ֥ני ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֽאל: nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the children of Israel."
Second Portion Exodus Chapter 19 ז ַו ָיּ ֣ב ֹא מ ֶ֔שׁה ַו ִיּ ְקָ ֖רא ְל ִז ְקֵ ֣ני ָה ָ ֑ﬠם ַוָיּ֣ ֶשׂם ִל ְפ ֵנ ֶ֗יהם ֵ֚את Moses came and summoned the elders of Israel and placed .7
ָכּ ַל־ה ְדּ ָבִ ֣רים ָה ֵ֔א ֶלּה ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ִצָ ֖וּהוּ ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: .before them all these words that the Lord had commanded him
ח ַוַ ֽיּ ֲﬠ ֨נוּ ָכ ָל־ה ָ ֤ﬠם ַי ְח ָדּ֙ו ַו ֣יּ ֹ ְאמ ֔רוּ ֛כֹּל ֲא ֶשׁ ִר־דּ ֶ ֥בּר ְי ָ ֖הוֹה And all the people replied in unison and said, "All that the .8 ַ ֽנ ֲﬠ ֶ ֑שׂה ַוָ ֧יּ ֶשׁב מ ֶ ֛שׁה ֶאת ִ־דּ ְבֵ ֥רי ָה ָ ֖ﬠם ֶאל־ ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: Lord has spoken we shall do!" and Moses took the words of the people back to the Lord.
ט ַו֨יּ ֹ ֶאמר ְי ָ ֜הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶ֗שׁה ִה ֵ֨נּה ָ ֽא ֹנ ִ֜כי ָ ֣בּא ֵאֶ֘ל ֘י ְבּ ַ ֣ﬠב And the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I am coming to you in .9 the thickness of the cloud, in order that the people hear when I ֶ ֽה ָﬠ ָנן֒ ַ ֽבּ ֲﬠ ֞בוּר ִי ְשׁ ַ ֤מע ָה ָﬠ ֙ם ְבּ ַד ְבִּ ֣רי ִﬠ ָ֔מּ ְו ַגם־ ְבּ ֖ ַ ֽי ֲא ִ ֣מינוּ ְל ָ ֑עוֹלם ַו ַיֵּ ֥גּד מ ֶ ֛שׁה ֶאת ִ־דּ ְבֵ ֥רי ָה ָ ֖ﬠם ֶאל־ ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: speak to you, and they will also believe in you forever." And Moses relayed the words of the people to the Lord. י ַו֨יּ ֹ ֶאמר ְי ָ ֤הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶשׁ ֙ה ֵ ֣ל ֶא ָל־ה ָ֔ﬠם ְו ִק ַדּ ְשׁ ָ ֥תּם And the Lord said to Moses, "Go to the people and prepare .10
ַה֖יּוֹם וּ ָמ ָ ֑חר ְו ִכ ְבּ ֖סוּ ִשׂ ְמ ָ ֽתם: .them today and tomorrow, and they shall wash their garments
יא ְו ָה֥יוּ ְנכִֹ ֖נים ַל ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִלי ִ ֑שׁי ִ ֣כּי | ַבּ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִל ִ֗שׁי ֵיֵ ֧רד And they shall be prepared for the third day, for on the third .11 ְי ָ ֛הוֹה ְל ֵﬠ ֵ ֥יני ָכ ָל־ה ָ ֖ﬠם ַﬠ ַ ֥ל־הר ִס ָ ֽיני: day, the Lord will descend before the eyes of all the people upon Mount Sinai.
יב ְו ִה ְג ַבּ ְל ָ ֤תּ ֶאת ָ־ה ָﬠ ֙ם ָס ִ ֣ביב ֵל ֔ ֹאמר ִה ָ ֽשּׁ ְמ ֥רוּ ָל ֶ ֛כם ,And you shall set boundaries for the people around, saying .12 ֲﬠ ֥לוֹת ָבּ ָ ֖הר ְוּנ ֣ ֹג ַ ְבּ ָק ֵ ֑צהוּ ָכּ ַל־ה ֹנֵּ ֥ג ַ ָבּ ָ ֖הר ֥מוֹת יוּ ָ ֽמת: ;Beware of ascending the mountain or touching its edge whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.' יג ֽל ֹא ִ־ת ַ֨גּע ֜בּוֹ ָ֗יד ִֽכּ ָי־ס ֤קוֹל ִי ָסּ ֵק ֙ל ֽאוֹ־ ָי ֣רֹה ִי ָיֶּ ֔רה ;No hand shall touch it, for he shall be stoned or cast down .13 ִאם־ ְבּ ֵה ָ ֥מה ִא ִ ֖ם־אישׁ ֣ל ֹא ִֽי ְחֶי֑ה ִבּ ְמשֹׁ ֙ ַהיֹּ ֵ֔בל ֵ ֖ה ָמּה whether man or beast, he shall not live. When the ram's horn ַ ֽי ֲﬠ ֥לוּ ָב ָ ֽהר: ".sounds a long, drawn out blast, they may ascend the mountain
Third Portion Exodus Chapter 19 יד ַוֵיּ֧ ֶ רד מ ֶ ֛שׁה ִמ ָן־ה ָ ֖הר ֶא ָל־ה ָ ֑ﬠם ַו ְי ַק ֵדּ ֙שׁ ֶאת ָ־ה ָ֔ﬠם So Moses descended from the mountain to the people, and .14
ַו ְי ַכ ְבּ ֖סוּ ִשׂ ְמ ָ ֽתם: .he prepared the people, and they washed their garments
טו ַו֨יּ ֹ ֶאמ ֙ר ֶא ָל־ה ָ֔ﬠם ֱה֥יוּ ְנכִֹ ֖נים ִל ְשׁ ֣ל ֶשׁת ָי ִ ֑מים He said to the people, "Be ready for three days; do not go .15
ַא ִל־תּ ְגּ ֖שׁוּ ֶא ִל־א ָ ֽשּׁה: ".near a woman
טז ַו ְי ִה֩י ַב֨יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִלי ִ֜שׁי ִֽבּ ְה֣יֹת ַה ֗בֹּ ֶקר ַו ְי ִה֩י קֹ ֨ ת It came to pass on the third day when it was morning, that .16 וּ ְבָר ִ֜קים ְו ָﬠָ ֤נ ן ָכּ ֵב ֙ד ַﬠ ָל־ה ָ֔הר ְו ֥קֹל שֹׁ ָ ֖פר ָחָ ֣זק ְמ ֑ ֹאד there were thunder claps and lightning flashes, and a thick cloud ַוֶ ֽיּ ֱחַ ֥רד ָכּ ָל־ה ָ ֖ﬠם ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ַבּ ַ ֽמּ ֲחֶ ֽנה: ,was upon the mountain, and a very powerful blast of a shofar and the entire nation that was in the camp shuddered.
יז ַו ֵ֨יּוֹצא מ ֶ ֧שׁה ֶאת ָ־ה ָ ֛ﬠם ִל ְקַ ֥ראת ָ ֽה ֱא ִ ֖הים ,Moses brought the people out toward God from the camp .17
ִמ ַן־ה ַ ֽמּ ֲחֶ ֑נה ַו ִיּ ְתַי ְצּ ֖בוּ ְבּ ַת ְח ִ֥תּית ָה ָ ֽהר: .and they stood at the bottom of the mountain
יח ְו ַ ֤הר ִס ַ֙יני ָﬠ ַ ֣שׁן ֻכּ ֔לּוֹ ִ֠מ ְפּ ֵ ֠ני ֲא ֶ֨שׁר ָיַ ֥רד ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ְי ָ ֖הוֹה And the entire Mount Sinai smoked because the Lord had .18 ָבּ ֵ ֑אשׁ ַוַיּ֤ ַﬠל ֲﬠ ָשׁ ֙נוֹ ְכּ ֶ ֣ﬠ ֶשׁן ַה ִכּ ְב ָ֔שׁן ַוֶ ֽיּ ֱחַ ֥רד ָכּ ָל־ה ָ ֖הר descended upon it in fire, and its smoke ascended like the ְמ ֽ ֹאד: .smoke of the kiln, and the entire mountain quaked violently
יט ַ ֽו ְ י ִ ֙הי ֣קוֹל ַהשֹּׁ ָ֔פר ֵ ֖הוֹל ְו ָחֵז֣ק ְמ ֑ ֹאד מ ֶ ֣שׁה ְי ַד ֵ֔בּר The sound of the shofar grew increasingly stronger; Moses .19 ְו ָ ֽה ֱא ִ ֖הים ַ ֽי ֲﬠֶ ֥ננּוּ ְב ֽקוֹל: .would speak and God would answer him with a voice
Fourth Portion Exodus Chapter 19 כ ַוֵיּ֧ ֶ רד ְי ָ ֛הוֹה ַﬠ ַ ֥ל־הר ִס ַ ֖יני ֶא ֣ל־ר ֹאשׁ ָה ָ ֑הר ַו ִיּ ְקָ ֨רא The Lord descended upon Mount Sinai, to the peak of the .20 ְי ָ ֧הוֹה ְלמ ֶ ֛שׁה ֶא ֥ל־ר ֹאשׁ ָה ָ ֖הר ַוַ ֥יּ ַﬠל מ ֶ ֽשׁה: mountain, and the Lord summoned Moses to the peak of the mountain, and Moses ascended.
כא ַו ֤יּ ֹ ֶאמר ְי ָהוֹ ֙ה ֶאל־מ ֶ֔שׁה ֵ ֖רד ָה ֵ ֣ﬠד ָבּ ָ ֑ﬠם ֶפּן־ֶ ֽי ֶהְר ֤סוּ The Lord said to Moses, "Go down, warn the people lest .21 ֶאל־ ְי ָהוֹ ֙ה ִלְר ֔אוֹת ְו ָנ ַ ֥פל ִמ ֶ ֖מּנּוּ ָ ֽרב: they break [their formation to go nearer] to the Lord, to see, and many of them will fall. כב ְוַ ֧גם ַה ֽכֹּ ֲהִ ֛נים ַה ִנּ ָגּ ִ֥שׁים ֶאל־ ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ִי ְת ַק ָ ֑דּשׁוּ And also, the priests who go near to the Lord shall prepare .22
ֶפּן־ ִי ְפ ֥רֹץ ָבּ ֶ ֖הם ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: ".themselves, lest the Lord wreak destruction upon them
כג ַו ֤יּ ֹ ֶאמר מ ֶשׁ ֙ה ֶאל־ ְי ָ ֔הוֹה ֽל ֹא־יוּ ַ ֣כל ָה ָ֔ﬠם ַ ֽל ֲﬠ ֖ ת And Moses said to the Lord, "The people cannot ascend to .23 ֶא ַ ֣ל־הר ִס ָ ֑יני ִֽכּ ַי־א ָ֞תּה ַ ֽה ֵﬠ ֤דֹ ָתה ָ֨בּ ֙נוּ ֵל ֔ ֹאמר ַה ְג ֵ ֥בּל Mount Sinai, for You warned us saying, Set boundaries for the ֶאת ָ־ה ָ ֖הר ְו ִק ַדּ ְשׁ ֽתּוֹ: " '.mountain and sanctify it
כד ַו֨יּ ֹ ֶאמר ֵא ָ ֤ליו ְי ָהוֹ ֙ה ֶל ֵ ֔ ־רד ְו ָﬠ ִ֥לי ָת ַא ָ ֖תּה ְו ַ ֽא ֲה ֣רֹן But the Lord said to him, "Go, descend, and [then] you shall .24 ascend, and Aaron with you, but the priests and the populace ִﬠ ָ ֑מּ ְו ַה ֽכֹּ ֲהִ ֣נים ְו ָה ָ֗ﬠם ַאל־ֶ ֽי ֶהְר ֛סוּ ַ ֽל ֲﬠ ֥ ת ֶאל־ ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ֶפּן־ ִי ְפָרץ־ ָ ֽבּם: shall not break [their formation] to ascend to the Lord, lest He wreak destruction upon them."
כה ַוֵ ֥יּ ֶ רד מ ֶ ֖שׁה ֶא ָל־ה ָ ֑ﬠם ַו ֖יּ ֹ ֶאמר ֲא ֵל ֶ ֽהם: .So Moses went down to the people and said [this] to them .25
Exodus Chapter 20
א ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֣בּר ֱא ִ֔הים ֵ ֛את ָכּ ַל־ה ְדּ ָבִ֥רים ָה ֵ ֖א ֶלּה ֵל ֽ ֹאמר: :God spoke all these words, to respond .1
ב ָ ֽא ֹנ ִ֨כי ְי ָ ֣הוֹה ֱא ֶ֔הי ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ֽה ֵוֹצ ֩ ִאת ֩י ֵמ ֶ֨אֶרץ ִמ ְצַ ֜ר ִים I am the Lord, your God, Who took you out of the land of" .2
ִמ ֵ ֣בּית ֲﬠ ָב ִ֗דים: .Egypt, out of the house of bondage ג ֣ל ֹא ִֽי ְהֶי֣ה־ ְל ֩ ֱא ִ֨הים ֲא ֵחִ ֜רים ַﬠ ָל־פּ ַ֗ני: .You shall not have the gods of others in My presence .3
ד ֣ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֶשׂה־ ְלּ ֣ ֶ ֣פ ֶסל | ְו ָכ ְל־תּ ָ֡מוּנה ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַבּ ָשּׁ ַ ֣מִים You shall not make for yourself a graven image or any .4 | ִמ ַ֡מּ ַﬠל ַ ֽו ֲא ֶשׁ ֩ר ָבּ ָ֨אֶרץ ִמ ַ֜תּ ַחת ַ ֽו ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַבּ ַ ֣מִּים | ִמ ַ ֣תּ ַחת likeness which is in the heavens above, which is on the earth ָל ָ֗אֶרץ: .below, or which is in the water beneath the earth
ה ֽל ֹא ִ־ת ְשׁ ַ ֽתּ ֲחֶ ֣וה ָל ֶהם֘ ְו ֣ל ֹא ָ ֽת ָﬠ ְב ֵד ֒ם ִ ֣כּי ָ ֽא ֹנ ִ֞כי ְי ָ ֤הוֹה You shall neither prostrate yourself before them nor worship .5 them, for I, the Lord, your God, am a zealous God, Who visits ֱא ֶ֨ה ֙י ֵ ֣אל ַק ָ֔נּא ֠ ֹפּ ֵ ֠קד ֲﬠ ֨וֹן ָא ֧בוֹת ַﬠל־ ָבִּ ֛נים ַﬠל־ ִשׁ ֵלּ ִ֥שׁים ְו ַﬠ ִל־ר ֵבּ ִ ֖ﬠים ְל ֽשׂ ְנ ָ ֑אי: the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons, upon the third and the fourth generation of those who hate Me, ו ְו ֤ﬠֹ ֶשׂה ֶ֨ח ֶס ֙ד ַ ֽל ֲא ָל ִ֔פים ְל ֽ ֹא ֲה ַ ֖בי ְוּל ֽשֹׁ ְמֵ ֥רי ִמ ְצ ָ ֽוֹתי: ,[and [I] perform loving kindness to thousands [of generations .6 to those who love Me and to those who keep My commandments.
ז ֥ל ֹא ִת ָ ֛שּׂא ֶאת־ ֵ ֽשׁם־ ְי ָ ֥הוֹה ֱא ֶ ֖הי ַל ָ ֑שְּׁוא ִ ֣כּי ֤ל ֹא ,You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain .7 ְי ַנ ֶקּ ֙ה ְי ָ ֔הוֹה ֵ ֛את ֲא ֶשׁר־ ִי ָ ֥שּׂא ֶאת־ ְשׁ ֖מוֹ ַל ָ ֽשְּׁוא: for the Lord will not hold blameless anyone who takes His name in vain.
ח ָז ֩כוֹר ֶאת־ ֨יוֹם ַה ַשּׁ ָ֜בּת ְל ַק ְדּ ֗שׁוֹ: .Remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it .8
ט ֵ ֣שׁ ֶשׁת ָי ִ ֣מים ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠבֹ ֘ד ְו ָﬠ ִ ֣שׂי ָת ָכ ְל־מ ַל ְאכ ֶתּ ֒: ,Six days may you work and perform all your labor .9
י ְו֨יוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֜יﬠי ַשׁ ָ ֣בּת | ַ ֽל ָ ֣יהוֹה ֱא ֶ֗הי ֣ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֶ ֣שׂה but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord, your God; you .10 ָכ ְל־מ ָל ָ֡אכה ַא ָ ֣תּה | וּ ִב ְנ ֣ ֠־וּ ִב ֶתּ ַﬠ ְב ְדּ ֨ ַ ֽו ֲא ָ ֽמ ְת ֜ ,shall perform no labor, neither you, your son, your daughter וּ ְב ֶה ְמ ֶ֗תּ ְוֵ ֽג ְ ר ֙ ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ִבּ ְשׁ ָﬠֶ ֔רי : your manservant, your maidservant, your beast, nor your stranger who is in your cities.
יא ִ ֣כּי ֵ ֽשׁ ֶשׁת־ ָי ִמי ֩ם ָﬠ ָ֨שׂה ְי ָ ֜הוֹה ֶאת ַ־ה ָשּׁ ַ ֣מִים ,For [in] six days the Lord made the heaven and the earth .11 ְו ֶאת ָ־ה ָ֗אֶרץ ֶאת ַ־הָיּ ֙ם ְו ֶאת ָ־כּ ֲל־א ֶשׁר־ ָ֔בּם ַוָ ֖יּ ַנח ַבּ֣יּוֹם the sea and all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh
ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ ֑יﬠי ַﬠ ֵ֗ל־כּן ֵבַּ ֧ר ְי ָ ֛הוֹה ֶאת־ ֥יוֹם ַה ַשּׁ ָ ֖בּת day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it. ַ ֽו ְ י ַק ְדּ ֵ ֽשׁהוּ:
יב ַכּ ֵ ֥בּד ֶאת ָ־א ִ ֖בי ְו ֶאת ִ־א ֶ ֑מּ ְל ַ֨מ ַ ֙ﬠן ַ ֽי ֲאִר ֣כוּן ָי ֶ֔מי ַ֚ﬠל Honor your father and your mother, in order that your days .12
ָ ֽה ֲא ָד ָ֔מה ֲא ֶשׁר־ ְי ָ ֥הוֹה ֱא ֶ ֖הי ֹנ ֵ ֥תן ָ ֽל : .be lengthened on the land that the Lord, your God, is giving you
יג ֖ל ֹא ִתְּר ָ ֽצח: ס ֖ל ֹא ִתּ ְנ ָ ֽאף: ס ֖ל ֹא ִתּ ְג ֹֽנב: ס You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You .13 ֽל ֹא ַ ֽ־ת ֲﬠֶ ֥נה ְבֵ ֽר ֲﬠ ֖ ֵ ֥ﬠד ָ ֽשׁ ֶקר: shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. יד ֥ל ֹא ַת ְח ֖ ֹמד ֵ ֣בּית ֵר ֶ ֑ﬠך ס ֽל ֹא ַ־ת ְח ֞ ֹמד ֵ ֣א ֶשׁת ֵר ֶ֗ﬠ You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not .14 ְו ַﬠ ְב ֤דּוֹ ַ ֽו ֲא ָמ ֙תוֹ ְו ֣שׁוֹרוֹ ַ ֽו ֲח ֹמ ֔רוֹ ְו ֖כֹל ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ְלֵר ֶ ֽﬠ : covet your neighbor's wife, his manservant, his maidservant, his ox, his donkey, or whatever belongs to your neighbor."
Fifth Portion Exodus Chapter 20 טו ְו ָכ ָל־ה ָﬠ ֩ם רֹ ִ֨אים ֶאת ַ־ה ֜קּוֹ ת ְו ֶאת ַ־ה ַלּ ִפּ ִ֗ידם ְו ֵא ֙ת And all the people saw the voices and the torches, the .15 ֣קוֹל ַהשֹּׁ ָ֔פר ְו ֶאת ָ־ה ָ ֖הר ָﬠ ֵ ֑שׁן ַוַיּ֤ ְ רא ָה ָﬠ ֙ם ַו ָיּ ֻ֔נעוּ ַוַ ֽיּ ַﬠ ְמ ֖דוּ sound of the shofar, and the smoking mountain, and the people ֵ ֽמָר ֽחֹק: .saw and trembled; so they stood from afar
טז ַו ֽיּ ֹ ְאמ ֙רוּ ֶאל־מ ֶ֔שׁה ַדּ ֶבּ ַר־א ָ ֥תּה ִﬠ ָ ֖מּנוּ ְו ִנ ְשׁ ָ ֑מ ָﬠה ,They said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear .16
ְו ַאל־ ְי ַד ֵ ֥בּר ִﬠ ָ ֛מּנוּ ֱא ִ ֖הים ֶפּ ָן־נ ֽמוּת: ".but let God not speak with us lest we die
יז ַו֨יּ ֹ ֶאמר מ ֶ ֣שׁה ֶא ָל־ה ָﬠם֘ ַא ִל־תּ ָ ֒יר ֒אוּ ִ֗כּי ְל ַ ֽב ֲﬠ ֙בוּר But Moses said to the people, "Fear not, for God has come .17 ַנ ֣סּוֹת ֶא ְת ֶ֔כם ָ ֖בּא ָ ֽה ֱא ִ ֑הים וּ ַ ֽב ֲﬠ ֗בוּר ִֽתּ ְהֶי֧ה ִיְר ָא ֛תוֹ in order to exalt you, and in order that His awe shall be upon ַﬠ ְל־פּ ֵני ֶ ֖כם ְל ִב ְל ִ֥תּי ֶ ֽת ֱח ָ ֽטאוּ: ".your faces, so that you shall not sin יח ַוַ ֽיּ ֲﬠ ֥ ֹמד ָה ָ ֖ﬠם ֵ ֽמָר ֑חֹק וּמ ֶשׁ ֙ה ִנַ ֣גּשׁ ֶא ָ ֽל־ה ֲﬠָר ֶ֔פל The people remained far off, but Moses drew near to the .18
ֲא ֶשׁר־ ָ ֖שׁם ָ ֽה ֱא ִֽהים: .opaque darkness, where God was
יט ַו ֤יּ ֹ ֶאמר ְי ָהוֹ ֙ה ֶאל־מ ֶ֔שׁה ֥כֹּה ת ֹ ַ ֖אמר ֶאל־ ְבֵּ ֣ני The Lord said to Moses, "So shall you say to the children of .19 ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֑אל ַא ֶ ֣תּם ְר ִאי ֶ֔תם ִ֚כּי ִמ ַן־ה ָשּׁ ַ֔מִים ִדּ ַ ֖בְּר ִתּי ִﬠ ָמּ ֶ ֽכם: Israel, You have seen that from the heavens I have spoken with you.
כ ֥ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֖שׂוּן ִא ִ ֑תּי ֱא ֤ ֵהי ֶ֨כ ֶס ֙ף ֵ ֽוא ֵ ֣הי ָז ָ֔הב ֥ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֖שׂוּ .You shall not make [images of anything that is] with Me .20
ָל ֶ ֽכם: .Gods of silver or gods of gold you shall not make for yourselves כא ִמְז ַ ֣בּח ֲא ָד ָמ ֘ה ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֶשׂה־ ִלּי֒ ְוָ ֽז ַב ְח ָ ֣תּ ָﬠ ָ֗ליו An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall .21 ֶאת־ ֽﬠֹ ֶ֨ת ֙י ְו ֶאת־ ְשׁ ָל ֶ֔מי ֶאת־ ֽצ ֹ ְאנ ֖ ְו ֶאת־ ְבּ ָקֶ ֑ר ,slaughter beside it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings
ְבּ ָכ ַל־ה ָמּ ֙קוֹם ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַאְז ִ ֣כּיר ֶאת־ ְשׁ ִ֔מי ָא ֥בוֹא ֵא ֶ ֖לי your sheep and your cattle. Wherever I allow My name to be mentioned, I will come to you and bless you. וּ ֵ ֽבַר ְכ ִֽתּי :
כב ְו ִא ִם־מְז ַ ֤בּח ֲא ָב ִני ֙ם ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֶשׂה־ ִ֔לּי ֽל ֹא ִ־ת ְבֶ ֥נה ֶא ְת ֶ ֖הן And when you make for Me an altar of stones, you shall not .22 ָגִּ ֑זית ִ ֧כּי ַחְר ְבּ ֛ ֵהַ ֥נ ְפ ָתּ ָﬠ ֶ ֖ל ָיה ַו ְתּ ַ ֽח ֲל ֶ ֽל ָה: build them of hewn stones, lest you wield your sword upon it and desecrate it. כג ְול ֹא ַ ֽ־ת ֲﬠ ֶ ֥לה ְב ַ ֽמ ֲﬠ ֖ ת ַﬠ ִל־מְז ְבּ ִ ֑חי ֲא ֶ ֛שׁר ֽל ֹא ִ־ת ָגֶּ ֥לה And you shall not ascend with steps upon My altar, so that .23
ֶﬠְרָ ֽו ְת ֖ ָﬠ ָ ֽליו: " '.your nakedness shall not be exposed upon it Maftir Portion Numbers Chapter 28 כו וּ ְב֣יוֹם ַה ִבּ ִ ֗כּוּרים ְבּ ַה ְקִ ֨רי ְב ֶ֜כם ִמ ְנ ָ ֤חה ֲח ָד ָשׁ ֙ה On the day of the first fruits, when you offer up a new meal .26 offering to the Lord, on your festival of Weeks; it shall be a holy ַ ֽל ָ ֔יהוֹה ְבּ ָ ֽשׁ ֻב ֖ﬠֹ ֵתי ֶ ֑כם ִמ ְקָרא ֨־קֹ ֶד ֙שׁ ִֽי ְהֶי֣ה ָל ֶ֔כם ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה ֥ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֽשׂוּ: convocation for you, and you shall not perform any mundane work.
כז ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ֨תּם ָ֜עוֹלה ְלֵ ֤ר ַי ִנ ֨יחַֹ ֙ ַ ֽל ָ ֔יהוֹה ָפִּ ֧רים You shall offer up a burnt offering with a spirit of satisfaction .27 ְבֵּ ֽני־ ָבָ ֛ קר ְשַׁ ֖נ ִ ים ַ ֣אִיל ֶא ָ ֑חד ִשׁ ְב ָ ֥ﬠה ְכ ָב ִ ֖שׂים ְבֵּ ֥ני ָשָׁ ֽנה: to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs in the first year.
כח וּ ִ֨מ ְנ ָח ָ֔תם ֖סֹ ֶלת ְבּ ָ ֣לוּלה ַב ָ ֑שּׁ ֶמן ְשׁ ָ ֤לשׁה ֶﬠ ְשׂרֹ ִני ֙ם Their meal offerings [shall be] fine flour mixed with oil; three .28
ַל ָ ֣פּר ָ ֽה ֶא ָ֔חד ְשׁ ֵ֙ני ֶﬠ ְשׂרִֹ֔נים ָל ַ ֖אִיל ָ ֽה ֶא ָ ֽחד: .tenths for each bull and two tenths for the ram
כט ִﬠ ָשּׂ ֙רוֹן ִﬠ ָשּׂ ֔רוֹן ַל ֶ ֖כּ ֶבשׂ ָ ֽה ֶא ָ ֑חד ְל ִשׁ ְב ַ ֖ﬠת ַה ְכּ ָב ִֽשׂים: .One tenth for each lamb, for all seven lambs .29
ל ְשׂ ִ֥ﬠיר ִﬠִ ֖זּים ֶא ָ ֑חד ְל ַכ ֵ ֖פּר ֲﬠ ֵלי ֶ ֽכם: .One young male goat to atone for you .30
לא ִמ ְלּ ַ֞בד עֹ ַ ֧לת ַה ָתּ ִ ֛מיד וּ ִמ ְנ ָח ֖תוֹ ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֑שׂוּ ְתּ ִמי ִ֥מם You shall offer this up besides the continual burnt offering .31 ִֽי ְהיוּ־ ָל ֶ ֖כם ְו ִנ ְס ֵכּ ֶ ֽיהם: and its meal offering they shall be unblemished for you, as well as their libations.
Haftarah Ezekiel Chapter 1 א ַו ְי ִ ֣הי | ִבּ ְשׁ ִ ֣ שׁים ָשׁ ָ֗נה ָ ֽבְּר ִב ִ ֙יﬠי ַ ֽבּ ֲח ִמ ָ ֣שּׁה ַל ֔חֹ ֶדשׁ [Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year in the fourth [month .1 on the fifth day of the month, as I was in the midst of the exile by ַ ֽו ֲאִ֥ני ְב ֽת ַוֹ ־ה ָ ֖גּוֹלה ַﬠ ְל־נ ַ ֣הר ְכּ ָ ֑בר ִנ ְפ ְתּ ֙חוּ ַה ָשּׁ ַ֔מִים ָ ֽו ֶאְר ֶ ֖אה ַמְר ֥אוֹת ֱא ִֽהים: the river Chebar-the heavens opened up, and I saw visions of God. ב ַ ֽבּ ֲח ִמ ָ ֖שּׁה ַל ֑חֹ ֶדשׁ ִהיא ַה ָשָּׁ ֣נה ַ ֽה ֲח ִמי ִ֔שׁית ְל ָג ֖לוּת On the fifth of the month"-that is the fifth year of King" .2
ַה ֶ ֥מּ ֶל ֽי ָוֹי ִֽכין: .Jehoiachin's exile
ג ָה֣יֹה ָהָי֣ה ְד ַבר־ ְ֠י ָהוֹה ֶאל־ ְי ֶח ְז ֵ֨קאל ֶבּן־ ִ ֧בּוּזי ַהכֹּ ֵ ֛הן The word of the Lord was [revealed] to Ezekiel the son of .3 ְבּ ֶ ֥אֶרץ ַכּ ְשׂ ִ ֖דּים ַﬠ ְל־נ ַ ֣הר ְכּ ָ ֑בר ַו ְתּ ִ֥הי ָﬠ ָ ֛ליו ָ ֖שׁם Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans, by the river ַיד־ ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: .Chebar, and the hand of the Lord came upon him there ד ָו ֵ֡אֶרא ְו ִה ֵנּ ֩ה ֨ר ַוּ ְס ָﬠָ ֜רה ָבּ ָ ֣אה ִמ ַן־ה ָצּ ֗פוֹן ָﬠ ָ֚נן | And I saw, and behold, a tempest was coming from the .4 north, a huge cloud and a flaming fire with a brightness around ָגּ ֙דוֹל ְו ֵ ֣אשׁ ִמ ְת ַל ַ֔קּ ַחת ְו ֹ֥נ ַגהּ ֖לוֹ ָס ִ ֑ביב וּ ִ֨מתּוֹ ָ֔כהּ ְכּ ֵ ֥ﬠין ַ ֽה ַח ְשׁ ַ ֖מל ִמ ֥תּוֹ ָה ֵ ֽאשׁ: it; and from its midst, it was like the color of the chashmal from the midst of the fire.
ה וּ ִ֨מתּוֹ ָ֔כהּ ְדּ ֖מוּת ַאְר ַ ֣בּע ַח ֑יּוֹת ְו ֶז ֙ה ַמְר ֵא ֶ֔יהן ְדּ ֥מוּת And from its midst was the likeness of four living beings, and .5 ָאָ ֖דם ָל ֵ ֽה ָנּה: .this is their appearance; they had the likeness of a man
ו ְו ַאְר ָבּ ָ ֥ﬠה ָפִ ֖נים ְל ֶא ָ ֑חת ְו ַאְר ַ ֥בּע ְכּ ָנ ַ ֖פִים ְל ַא ַ ֥חת ָל ֶ ֽהם: And [each] one had four faces, and [each] one had four .6 wings.
ז ְוַר ְג ֵל ֶ ֖יהם ֶ ֣ר ֶגל ְי ָשָׁ ֑רה ְו ַ ֣כף ַר ְג ֵל ֶ֗יהם ְכּ ַכ ֙ף ֶ ֣ר ֶגל ֵ֔ﬠ ֶגל And their legs were a straight leg, and the soles of their feet .7 ְו ֹ֣נ ְצ ִ֔צים ְכּ ֵ ֖ﬠין ְנ ֥חֹ ֶשׁת ָק ָ ֽלל: were like a round foot, and they sparkled like the color of burnished copper.
ח ִו ֵ ֣ידי (כתיב ִו ֵ ֣ידו) ָא ָ֗דם ִמ ַ֙תּ ַח ֙ת ַכּ ְנ ֵפ ֶ֔יהם ַ ֖ﬠל And human hands were beneath their wings on their four .8 ַאְר ַ ֣בּ ַﬠת ִר ְב ֵﬠ ֶ ֑יהם וּ ְפ ֵנ ֶ ֥יהם ְו ַכ ְנ ֵפ ֶ ֖יהם ְל ַאְר ַבּ ְﬠ ָ ֽתּם: sides, and their faces and their wings were [the same] to all four of them. ט ֽחֹ ְב ֛רֹת ִא ָ ֥שּׁה ֶא ֲל־א ָ ֖חוֹתהּ ַכּ ְנ ֵפ ֶ ֑יהם ֽל ֹא־ ִי ַ ֣סּבּוּ Their wings joined one to the other; they did not turn when .9
ְב ֶל ְכ ָ֔תּן ִ ֛אישׁ ֶאל־ ֵ ֥ﬠ ֶבר ָפָּ ֖ניו ֵי ֵ ֽלכוּ: .they walked; each one would go toward the direction of his face
י ְוּד ֣מוּת ְפּ ֵנ ֶיהם֘ ְפֵּ ֣ני ָא ָד ֒ם וּ ְפ ֵ֨ני ַאְר ֵ֚יה ֶא ַל־הָיּ ִמ ֙ין And the likeness of their faces was the face of a man, and .10 the face of a lion was on their right, to the four of them, and the ְל ַאְר ַבּ ְﬠ ָ֔תּם וּ ְפ ֵני־ ֥שׁוֹר ֵ ֽמ ַה ְשּׂ ֖מ ֹאל (כתיב מהשמאול) ְל ַאְר ַבּ ְﬠ ָ ֑תּן וּ ְפ ֵנ ֶ ֖י־נ ֶשׁר ְל ַאְר ַבּ ְﬠ ָ ֽתּן: face of an ox to their left, to the four of them, and the face of an eagle [was] to the four of them.
יא וּ ְפ ֵנ ֶ֕יהם ְו ַכ ְנ ֵפ ֶ ֥יהם ְפֻּר ֖דוֹת ִמ ְל ָ ֑מ ְﬠ ָלה ְל ִ֗אישׁ ְשׁ ַ֨תִּי ֨ם And so were their faces. And their wings were extended .11 חוֹ ְב ֣רוֹת ִ֔אישׁ ְוּשׁ ַ ֣תִּים ְמ ַכ ֔סּוֹת ֵ ֖את ְגִּו ֽיֹּ ֵת ֶ ֽיה ָנה: upward; each one had two wings joined to each other, and two covering their bodies.
יב ְו ִ ֛אישׁ ֶאל־ ֵ ֥ﬠ ֶבר ָפָּ ֖ניו ֵי ֵ ֑לכוּ ֶ ֣אל ֲא ֶשׁ ֩ר ִֽי ְהֶיה־ ָ֨שּׁ ָמּה ;Now each one would go toward the direction of his face .12 ָה ֚ר ַוּ ָל ֶ֙ל ֶכ ֙ת ֵי ֵ֔לכוּ ֥ל ֹא ִי ַ ֖סּבּוּ ְבּ ֶל ְכ ָ ֽתּן: wherever would be the will to go, they would go; they did not turn as they walked. יג ְוּד ֨מוּת ַ ֽה ַח֜יּוֹת ַמְר ֵא ֶ ֣יהם ְכַּ ֽג ֲח ֵל ֵ֗י־אשׁ ֽבֹּ ֲﬠ ֙רוֹת And the likeness of the living beings; their appearance was .13 ְכּ ַמְר ֵ ֣אה ַה ַלּ ִפּ ִ֔דים ִ֕היא ִמ ְת ַה ֶ ֖לּ ֶכת ֵ ֣בּין ַ ֽה ַח ֑יּוֹת ְו ֹ֣נ ַגהּ like fiery coals, burning like the appearance of firebrands; it was ָל ֵ֔אשׁ וּ ִמ ָן־ה ֵ ֖אשׁ ֵ ֥יוֹצא ָבָ ֽרק: going among the living beings; and there was a brightness to the fire and from the fire came forth lightning.
יד ְו ַ ֽה ַח ֖יּוֹת ָר ֣צוֹא ָו ֑שׁוֹב ְכּ ַמְר ֵ ֖אה ַה ָבָּ ֽזק: And the living beings would run and return, like the .14 appearance of the sparks.
טו ָו ֵ ֖אֶרא ַ ֽה ַח ֑יּוֹת ְו ִה ֵנּ ֩ה אוֹ ַ֨פן ֶא ָ ֥חד ָבּ ָ ֛אֶרץ ֵ ֥א ֶצל And I saw the living beings, and behold, one wheel [was] on .15
ַ ֽה ַח ֖יּוֹת ְל ַאְר ַ ֥בּ ַﬠת ָפָּ ֽניו: .the ground beside the living beings for its four faces
טז ַמְר ֵ֨אה ָה ֽאוֹ ַפ ִנּ֚ים וּ ַ ֽמ ֲﬠ ֵשׂ ֶיה ֙ם ְכּ ֵ ֣ﬠין ַתְּר ִ֔שׁישׁ ְוּד ֥מוּת The appearance of the wheels and their work was like the .16 ֶא ָ ֖חד ְל ַאְר ַבּ ְﬠ ָ ֑תּן וּ ַמְר ֵא ֶיה ֙ם וַּ ֽ ֣מ ֲﬠ ֵשׂ ֶ֔יהם ַ ֽכּ ֲא ֶ ֛שׁר ִי ְהֶ ֥יה ,appearance of crystal, and the four of them had one likeness ָ ֽהאוֹ ַ ֖פן ְבּ ֥תוֹ ָ ֽהאוֹ ָ ֽפן: and their appearance and their workings were as a wheel would be within a wheel.
יז ַﬠ ַל־אְר ַ ֥בּ ַﬠת ִר ְב ֵﬠ ֶ ֖יהן ְבּ ֶל ְכ ָ ֣תּם ֵי ֵ ֑לכוּ ֥ל ֹא ִי ַ ֖סּבּוּ When they went, they went toward their four sides; they did .17
ְבּ ֶל ְכ ָ ֽתּן: .not turn when they went
יח ְו ַ֨ג ֵבּ ֶ֔יהן ְו ֥ ֹג ַבהּ ָל ֶ ֖הם ְו ִיְר ָ ֣אה ָל ֶ ֑הם ְו ַגבֹּ ָ֗תם ְמ ֵל ֥ ֹאת And they had backs, and they were very high, and they .18 ֵﬠ ַ ֛ינ ִ ים ָס ִ ֖ביב ְל ַאְר ַבּ ְﬠ ָ ֽתּן: -were dreadful, and their eyebrows were full of eyes round about [so it was] to the four of them.
יט וּ ְב ֶ֙ל ֶכ ֙ת ַ ֽה ַח֔יּוֹת ֵי ְל ֥כוּ ָה ֽאוֹ ַפִ ֖נּים ֶא ְצ ָ ֑לם וּ ְב ִה ָנּ ֵ֚ שׂא And when the living beings would go, the wheels would go .19 ַ ֽה ַח ֙יּוֹת ֵמ ַ ֣ﬠל ָה ָ֔אֶרץ ִיָ ֽנּ ְשׂ ֖אוּ ָה ֽאוֹ ַפִֽנּים: beside them; and when the living beings would lift themselves off the ground, the wheels would lift themselves.
כ ַ ֣ﬠל ֲא ֶשׁ ֩ר ִֽי ְהֶיה־ ָ֨שּׁם ָה ֚ר ַוּ ָל ֶ֙ל ֶכ ֙ת ֵי ֵ֔לכוּ ָ ֥שׁ ָמּה Wherever there was the will to go, they would go; there was .20 the will to go, and the wheels would lift themselves ָה ֖ר ַוּ ָל ֶ ֑ל ֶכת ְו ָה ֽאוֹ ַפ ִ֗נּים ִיָ ֽנּ ְשׂ ֙אוּ ְל ֻﬠ ָמּ ָ֔תם ִ ֛כּי ֥ר ַוּ ַ ֽה ַחָ ֖יּה ָבּ ֽאוֹ ַפִֽנּים: correspondingly to them, for the will of the living being was in the wheels.
כא ְבּ ֶל ְכ ָ ֣תּם ֵי ֵ֔לכוּ וּ ְב ָﬠ ְמָ ֖דם ַ ֽי ֲﬠ ֑ ֹמדוּ ֽוּ ְב ִהָ ֽנּ ְשׂ ָ֞אם ֵמ ַ ֣ﬠל [When they [the living beings] would go, they [the wheels .21 ָה ָ֗אֶרץ ִיָ ֽנּ ְשׂ ֚אוּ ָהאוֹ ַפ ִנּי ֙ם ְל ֻﬠ ָמּ ָ֔תם ִ ֛כּי ֥ר ַוּ ַ ֽה ַחָ ֖יּה would go, and when they would stand, they would stand, and ָבּ ֽאוֹ ַפִֽנּים: when they would lift themselves up from the ground, the wheels would lift themselves correspondingly to them, for the will of the living being was in the wheels.
כב ְוּד ֞מוּת ַﬠ ָל־רא ֵ֚שׁי ַ ֽה ַח ָיּ ֙ה ָר ִ֔ק ַי ְכּ ֵ ֖ﬠין ַהֶ ֣קַּרח And there was a likeness over the heads of the living .22 ַה ָ ֑נּוֹרא ָנ ֥טוּי ַﬠ ָ ֽל־רא ֵשׁ ֶ ֖יהם ִמ ְל ָ ֽמ ְﬠ ָלה: beings, of an expanse like the color of the severe frost extended over their heads above.
כג ְו ַ֙ת ַח ֙ת ָהָר ִ֔ק ַי ַכּ ְנ ֵפ ֶ ֣יהם ְי ָשׁ ֔רוֹת ִא ָ ֖שּׁה And beneath the expanse, their wings were straight, one .23 ֶא ֲל־א ָ ֑חוֹתהּ ְל ִ֗אישׁ ְשׁ ַ֚תִּים ְמ ַכ ֙סּוֹת ָל ֵ֔ה ָנּה ְוּל ִ֗אישׁ pointed] toward the other; this one had two that covered, to] ְשׁ ַ֚תִּים ְמ ַכ ֙סּוֹת ָל ֵ֔ה ָנּה ֵ ֖את ְגִּֽויֹּ ֵת ֶ ֽיהם: .here, and that one had two that covered, to here, their bodies
כד ָ ֽו ֶא ְשׁ ַ ֣מע ֶאת ֣־קוֹל ַכּ ְנ ֵפ ֶ֡יהם ְכּ ֩קוֹל ַ֨מִים ַר ִ֚בּים And I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of .24 many waters like the voice of the Almighty-when they went; the ְכּ ֽקוֹל־ ַשׁ ַדּ֙י ְבּ ֶל ְכ ָ֔תּם ֥קוֹל ֲה ֻמ ָ ֖לּה ְכּ ֣קוֹל ַ ֽמ ֲחֶ ֑נה ְבּ ָﬠ ְמָ ֖דם ְתַּר ֶ ֥פּ ָינה ַכ ְנ ֵפ ֶ ֽיהן: sound of stirring, like the sound of a camp; when they would stand, they would let down their wings.
כה ַו ְי ִה ֕י־קוֹל ֵמ ַ֕ﬠל ָ ֽלָרִ ֖ ק ַי ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַﬠל־ר ֹא ָ ֑שׁם ְבּ ָﬠ ְמָ ֖דם And there was a voice above the expanse that was over .25 ְתַּר ֶ ֥פּ ָינה ַכ ְנ ֵפ ֶ ֽיהן: their heads; when they stood still, they would let down their wings. כו וּ ִמ ַ֗מּ ַﬠל ָ ֽלָר ִ֙ק ַ֙י ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ַﬠל־ר ֹא ָ֔שׁם ְכּ ַמְר ֵ ֥אה And above the expanse that was over their heads, like the .26 appearance of a sapphire stone, was the likeness of a throne, ֶ ֽא ֶב ַן־ס ִ ֖פּיר ְדּ ֣מוּת ִכּ ֵ ֑סּא ְו ַﬠ ֙ל ְדּ ֣מוּת ַה ִכּ ֵ֔סּא ְדּ ֞מוּת ְכּ ַמְר ֵ ֥אה ָאָ ֛דם ָﬠ ָ ֖ליו ִמ ְל ָ ֽמ ְﬠ ָלה: and on the likeness of the throne, was a likeness like the appearance of a man upon it above.
כז ָו ֵ ֣אֶרא | ְכּ ֵ ֣ﬠין ַח ְשׁ ַ֗מל ְכּ ַמְר ֵאה ֵ֚־אשׁ ֵ ֽבּית־ ָל ֙הּ ָס ִ֔ביב And I saw like the color of chashmal like the appearance of .27 ִמ ַמְּר ֵ ֥אה ָמ ְתָ ֖ניו ְוּל ָ ֑מ ְﬠ ָלה וּ ִמ ַמְּר ֵ֚אה ָמ ְת ָנ ֙יו ְוּל ַ֔מ ָטּה fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins and ָר ִ֙אי ִ ֙תי ְכּ ַמְר ֵאה ֵ֔־אשׁ ְו ֹ֥נ ַגהּ ֖לוֹ ָס ִֽביב: above; and from the appearance of his loins and below, I saw [a thing] like the appearance of fire, and there was a brightness round about it.
כח ְכּ ַמְר ֵ ֣אה ַה ֶ֡קּ ֶשׁת ֲא ֶשׁ ֩ר ִֽי ְהֶ֨יה ֶ ֽב ָﬠ ָ֜נן ְבּ֣יוֹם ַה ֶ֗גּ ֶשׁם Like the appearance of the rainbow that is in the cloud on a .28 rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness round about; ֵ ֣כּן ַמְר ֵ֚אה ַה֙נַֹּג ֙הּ ָס ִ֔ביב ֕הוּא ַמְר ֵ ֖אה ְדּ ֣מוּת ְכּ ֽבוֹד־ ְי ָ ֑הוֹה ָ ֽו ֶאְר ֶא ֙ה ָ ֽו ֶא ֣ ֹפּל ַﬠ ָל־פּ ַ֔ני ָ ֽו ֶא ְשׁ ַ ֖מע ֥קוֹל ְמ ַד ֵ ֽבּר: ,that was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord and when I saw, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice speaking.
Ezekiel Chapter 3 יב ַו ִתּ ָשּׂ ֵ ֣א ִני ֔ר ַוּ ָ ֽו ֶא ְשׁ ַ ֣מע ַ ֽא ֲחַ ֔רי ֖קוֹל ַ ֣ר ַﬠשׁ ָגּ֑דוֹל And a wind lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound .12 ָבּ ֥רוּ ְכּ ֽבוֹד־ ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ִמ ְמּקוֹ ֽמוֹ: of a great uproar: "Blessed is the glory of the Lord from His place."
