First Portion Leviticus Chapter 22

כו ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֥בּר ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּ ֽ ֹאמר: :And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying .26

כז ֣שׁוֹר ֶ ֤אוֹ־כ ֶשׂב אוֹ־ ֵﬠ֙ז ִ ֣כּי ִיָוּ ֵ֔לד ְו ָהָ ֛יה ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֖מים When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall remain .27 under its mother for seven days, and from the eighth day ַ ֣תּ ַחת ִא ֑מּוֹ וּ ִמ֤יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִמ ִ֙יני ָו ָ֔ה ְל ָאה ֵ ֽי ָ ר ֶ֕צה ְל ָקְר ַ ֥בּן ִא ֶ ֖שּׁה ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: onwards, it shall be accepted as a sacrifice for a fire offering to the Lord.

כח ְו ֖שׁוֹר אוֹ־ ֶ ֑שׂה ֹא ֣תוֹ ְו ֶאת־ ְבּ ֔נוֹ ֥ל ֹא ִת ְשׁ ֲח ֖טוּ ְבּ֥יוֹם An ox or sheep you shall not slaughter it and its offspring .28

ֶא ָ ֽחד: _.in one day

כט ְו ִֽכ ִי־תְז ְבּ ֥חוּ ֶ ֽז ַבח ָ ֖־תּוֹדה ַ ֽל ָ ֑יהוֹה ִלְר ֽצֹ ְנ ֶ ֖כם ִתְּז ָ ֽבּחוּ: And when you slaughter a thanksgiving offering to the .29 Lord, you shall slaughter it so that it should be acceptable for you.

ל ַבּ֤יּוֹם ַה ֙הוּא ֵ ֽי ָא ֵ֔כל ֽל ֹא ִ֥־תוֹתירוּ ִמ ֶ ֖מּנּוּ ַﬠד־ ֑בֹּ ֶקר ֲאִ ֖ני It shall be eaten on that day; do not leave it over until .30

ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: .morning. I am the Lord

לא ְוּשׁ ַמְר ֶתּ ֙ם ִמ ְצוֹ ַ֔תי ַ ֽו ֲﬠ ִשׂי ֶ ֖תם ֹא ָ ֑תם ֲאִ ֖ני ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: You shall keep My commandments and perform them. I .31 am the Lord.

לב ְו ֤ל ֹא ְת ַח ְלּ ֙לוּ ֶאת־ ֵ ֣שׁם ָק ְד ִ֔שׁי ְו ִ֨נ ְק ַדּ ְשׁ ִ֔תּי ְבּ ֖תוֹ ְבֵּ ֣ני You shall not desecrate My Holy Name. I shall be .32 ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֑אל ֲאִ֥ני ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ְמ ַק ִדּ ְשׁ ֶ ֽכם: sanctified amidst the children of Israel. I am the Lord Who sanctifies you,

לג ַה ִ ֤מּוֹציא ֶא ְת ֶכ ֙ם ֵמ ֶ ֣אֶרץ ִמ ְצַ ֔ר ִים ִֽל ְה֥יוֹת ָל ֶ ֖כם .Who took you out of the land of Egypt, to be a God to you .33

ֵ ֽלא ִ ֑הים ֲאִ ֖ני ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: .I am the Lord Leviticus Chapter 23

א ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֥בּר ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּ ֽ ֹאמר: ,And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying .1

ב ַדּ ֵ֞בּר ֶאל־ ְבֵּ ֤ני ִי ְשָׂר ֵא ֙ל ְו ָ ֽא ַמְר ָ ֣תּ ֲא ֵל ֶ֔הם ֽמ ֲוֹﬠ ֵ ֣די ְי ָ ֔הוֹה Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: The Lord's .2 ֲא ֶשׁ ִר־תּ ְקְר ֥אוּ ֹא ָ ֖תם ִמ ְקָר ֵ ֣אי ֑קֹ ֶדשׁ ֵ ֥א ֶלּה ֵ ֖הם ֽמ ֲוֹﬠ ָ ֽדי: appointed [holy days] that you shall designate as holy occasions. These are My appointed [holy days]:

ג ֵ ֣שׁ ֶשׁת ָי ִמים֘ ֵ ֽתּ ָﬠ ֶ ֣שׂה ְמ ָל ָאכ ֒ה וּ ַב֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֗יﬠי ַשׁ ַ ֤בּת For] six days, work may be performed, but on the seventh] .3 day, it is a complete rest day, a holy occasion; you shall not ַשׁ ָבּ ֙תוֹן ִמ ְקָרא ֔־קֹ ֶדשׁ ָכּ ְל־מ ָל ָ ֖אכה ֣ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֑שׂוּ ַשׁ ָ ֥בּת ִה ֙וא ַ ֽל ָ ֔יהוֹה ְבּ ֖כֹל ֽמ ְוֹשׁ ֽבֹ ֵתי ֶ ֽכם: perform any work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.

Second Portion Leviticus Chapter 23 ד ֵ֚א ֶלּה ֽמ ֲוֹﬠ ֵ ֣די ְי ָ ֔הוֹה ִמ ְקָר ֵ ֖אי ֑קֹ ֶדשׁ ֲא ֶשׁ ִר־תּ ְקְר ֥אוּ ,These are the Lord's appointed [holy days], holy occasions .4

ֹא ָ ֖תם ְבּ ֽמ ֲוֹﬠ ָ ֽדם: :which you shall designate in their appointed time

ה ַבּ ֣חֹ ֶדשׁ ָ ֽהִרא ֗שׁוֹן ְבּ ַאְר ָבּ ָ ֥ﬠה ָﬠ ָ ֛שׂר ַל ֖חֹ ֶדשׁ ֵ ֣בּין In the first month, on the fourteenth of the month, in the .5 ָ ֽה ַﬠְר ָ ֑בִּים ֶ ֖פּ ַסח ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: afternoon, [you shall sacrifice] the Passover offering to the Lord.

ו וּ ַ ֽב ֲח ִמ ָ֨שּׁה ָﬠ ָ ֥שׂר ֙יוֹם ַל ֣חֹ ֶדשׁ ַה ֶ֔זּה ַ ֥חג ַה ַמּ ֖צּוֹת And on the fifteenth day of that month is the Festival of .6 ַ ֽל ָ ֑יהוֹה ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֖מים ַמ ֥צּוֹת תּ ֹ ֵ ֽאכלוּ: Unleavened Cakes to the Lord; you shall eat unleavened cakes for a seven day period.

ז ַבּ ֙יּוֹם ָ ֽהִרא ֔שׁוֹן ִמ ְקָרא ֖־קֹ ֶדשׁ ִֽי ְהֶי֣ה ָל ֶ ֑כם On the first day, there shall be a holy occasion for you; you .7

ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה ֥ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֽשׂוּ: .shall not perform any work of labor

ח ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ ֥תּם ִא ֶ ֛שּׁה ַ ֽל ָ ֖יהוֹה ִשׁ ְב ַ ֣ﬠת ָי ִ ֑מים ַבּ֤יּוֹם And you shall bring a fire offering to the Lord for a seven .8 ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ ֙יﬠי ִמ ְקָרא ֔־קֹ ֶדשׁ ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה ֥ל ֹא ;day period. On the seventh day, there shall be a holy occasion ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֽשׂוּ: .you shall not perform any work of labor

ט ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֥בּר ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּ ֽ ֹאמר: ,And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying .9

י ַדּ ֵ֞בּר ֶאל־ ְבֵּ ֤ני ִי ְשָׂר ֵא ֙ל ְו ָ ֽא ַמְר ָ ֣תּ ֲא ֵל ֶ֔הם ִֽכּ ָי־ת ֣בֹאוּ Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When you .10 come to the Land which I am giving you, and you reap its ֶא ָל־ה ָ֗אֶרץ ֲא ֶ ֤שׁר ֲא ִ֙ני ֹנ ֵ ֣תן ָל ֶ֔כם ְוּק ַצְר ֶ ֖תּם ֶאת ְ־ק ִצ ָ ֑ירהּ ַ ֽו ֲה ֵב ֶ ֥אתם ֶאת־ ֛ﬠֹ ֶמר ֵרא ִ֥שׁית ְק ִֽצ ְיר ֶ ֖כם ֶא ַל־הכֹּ ֵ ֽהן: harvest, you shall bring to the an omer of the beginning of your reaping.

יא ְו ֵהִ ֧ניף ֶאת ָ־ה ֛ﬠֹ ֶמר ִל ְפֵ ֥ני ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ִלְר ֽצֹ ְנ ֶ ֑כם ִמ ָ ֽמּ ֳחַר ֙ת And he shall wave the omer before the Lord so that it will .11 ַה ַשּׁ ָ֔בּת ְי ִני ֶ ֖פנּוּ ַהכֹּ ֵ ֽהן: be acceptable for you; the kohen shall wave it on the day after the rest day. יב ַ ֽו ֲﬠ ִשׂי ֶ֕תם ְבּ֥יוֹם ֲהִֽני ְפ ֶ ֖כם ֶאת ָ־ה ֑ﬠֹ ֶמר ֶ ֣כּ ֶבשׂ ָתּ ִ ֧מים And on the day of your waving the omer, you shall offer up .12 ֶבּן־ ְשׁ ָנ ֛תוֹ ְלעֹ ָ ֖לה ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: an unblemished lamb in its [first] year as a burnt offering to the Lord;

יג וּ ִמ ְנ ָח ֩תוֹ ְשׁ ֵ֨ני ֶﬠ ְשׂרִֹ֜נים ֣סֹ ֶלת ְבּ ָ ֥לוּלה ַב ֶ ֛שּׁ ֶמן ִא ֶ ֥שּׁה Its meal offering [shall be] two tenths [of an ephah] of fine .13 ַ ֽל ָ ֖יהוֹה ֵ ֣ר ַי ִנ ֑יחַֹ ְו ִנ ְס ֥כּוֹ (כתיב ונסכה) ַ ֖י ִ ין ְר ִב ִ֥יﬠת flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to the Lord as a spirit of ַה ִֽהין: .satisfaction. And its libation [shall be] a quarter of a hin of wine

יד ְ ֩ו ֶל ֶח ֩ם ְו ָק ִ֨לי ְו ַכְר ֶ֜מל ֣ל ֹא ֽת ֹ ְאכ ֗לוּ ַﬠד־ ֶ֨ﬠ ֶצ ֙ם ַה֣יּוֹם You shall not eat bread or [flour made from] parched grain .14 or fresh grain, until this very day, until you bring your God's ַה ֶ֔זּה ַ֚ﬠד ֲה ִ ֣ב ֲיא ֶ֔כם ֶאת ָ־קְר ַ ֖בּן ֱא ֽ ֵהי ֶ ֑כם ֻחַ ֤קּת ָעוֹל ֙ם ְלדֹ֣רֹ ֵתי ֶ֔כם ְבּ ֖כֹל ֽמ ְשׁ ֽבֹ ֵתי ֶ ֽכם: sacrifice. [This is] an eternal statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.

Third Portion Leviticus Chapter 23 טו ְוּס ַפְר ֶ ֤תּם ָל ֶכ ֙ם ִמ ָ ֽמּ ֳחַ ֣רת ַה ַשּׁ ָ֔בּת ִמ ֙יּוֹם ֲה ִ ֣ב ֲיא ֶ֔כם And you shall count for yourselves, from the morrow of the .15 ֶאת־ ֖ﬠֹ ֶמר ַה ְתּנוּ ָ ֑פה ֶ ֥שׁ ַבע ַשׁ ָבּ ֖תוֹת ְתּ ִמי ֥ ֹמת ִֽתּ ְהֶ ֽי ָינה: rest day from the day you bring the omer as a wave offering seven weeks; they shall be complete.

טז ַ ֣ﬠד ִמ ָ ֽמּ ֳחַ ֤רת ַה ַשּׁ ָבּ ֙ת ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֔יﬠת ִתּ ְס ְפּ ֖רוּ ֲח ִמ ִ ֣שּׁים ,You shall count until the day after the seventh week .16 ֑יוֹם ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ ֛תּם ִמ ְנ ָ ֥חה ֲח ָד ָ ֖שׁה ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: namely,] the fiftieth day, [on which] you shall bring a new meal] offering to the Lord.

יז ִמ ֽמּ ְוֹשׁ ֨בֹ ֵתי ֶ֜כם ָתּ ִ ֣ביאוּ | ֶ ֣ל ֶחם ְתּנוּ ָ֗פה ְשׁ ַ֨תִּי ֙ם ְשֵׁ ֣ני From your dwelling places, you shall bring bread, set .17 aside, two [loaves] [made from] two tenths [of an ephah]; they ֶﬠ ְשׂרִֹ֔נים ֣סֹ ֶלת ִֽתּ ְהֶ֔י ָינה ָח ֵ ֖מץ ֵ ֽתּ ָא ֶ ֑פ ָינה ִבּ ִ ֖כּוּרים ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: shall be of fine flour, [and] they shall be baked leavened, the first offering to the Lord.

יח ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ ֣תּם ַﬠ ַל־ה ֶ֗לּ ֶחם ִשׁ ְב ַ֨ﬠת ְכּ ָב ִ ֤שׂים ְתּ ִמי ִמ ֙ם And associated with the bread, you shall bring seven .18 ְבֵּ ֣ני ָשׁ ָ֔נה וּ ַ ֧פר ֶבּן־ ָבָּ ֛ קר ֶא ָ ֖חד ְו ֵא ִ ֣ילם ְשָׁ ֑נ ִ ים ִֽי ְה֤יוּ עֹ ָל ֙ה unblemished lambs in their [first] year, one young bull, and two ַ ֽל ָ ֔יהוֹה וּ ִמ ְנ ָח ָת ֙ם ְו ִנ ְס ֵכּ ֶ֔יהם ִא ֵ ֥שּׁה ֵ ֽר ַי ִ־נ ֖יחַֹ ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: [rams these shall be a burnt offering to the Lord, [along with their meal offering and libations a fire offering [with] a spirit of satisfaction to the Lord.

יט ַ ֽו ֲﬠ ִשׂי ֶ ֛תם ְשׂ ִֽﬠיר־ ִﬠִ֥זּים ֶא ָ ֖חד ְל ַח ָ ֑טּאת ְוּשֵׁ ֧ני And you shall offer up one he goat as a sin offering, and .19

ְכ ָב ִ ֛שׂים ְבֵּ ֥ני ָשָׁ ֖נה ְלֶ ֥ז ַבח ְשׁ ָל ִֽמים: _.two lambs in their [first] year as a peace offering

כ ְו ֵהִ ֣ניף ַהכֹּ ֵ ֣הן | ֹא ָ֡תם ַﬠ ֩ל ֶ֨ל ֶחם ַה ִבּ ֻכִּ ֤רים ְתּנוּ ָפ ֙ה And the kohen shall wave them in conjunction with the first .20 offering bread as a waving before the Lord, along with the two ִל ְפֵ ֣ני ְי ָ ֔הוֹה ַﬠל־ ְשֵׁ ֖ני ְכּ ָב ִ ֑שׂים ֛קֹ ֶדשׁ ִֽי ְה֥יוּ ַ ֽל ָ ֖יהוֹה ַלכֹּ ֵ ֽהן: lambs. They shall be holy to the Lord, [and] belong to the kohen. כא ְוּקָר ֶ֞אתם ְבּ ֶ ֣ﬠ ֶצם | ַה֣יּוֹם ַה ֶ֗זּה ִמ ְקָרא ֨־קֹ ֶד ֙שׁ ִֽי ְהֶי֣ה And you shall designate on this very day a holy occasion it .21 ָל ֶ֔כם ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה ֣ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֑שׂוּ ֻחַ ֥קּת ָ ֛עוֹלם shall be for you; you shall not perform any work of labor. [This ְבּ ָכ ֽל־מ ְוֹשׁ ֥בֹ ֵתי ֶ ֖כם ְלדֹֽרֹ ֵתי ֶ ֽכם: is] an eternal statute in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.

כב וּ ְב ֻק ְצְר ֶ֞כם ֶאת ְ־ק ִ ֣ציר ַאְר ְצ ֶ֗כם ֽל ֹא ְ־ת ַכ ֶ֞לּה ְפּ ַ ֤את When you reap the harvest of your Land, you shall not .22 ָ ֽשׂ ְד ֙ ְבּ ֻק ְצֶ ֔ר ְו ֶ ֥ל ֶקט ְק ִֽצ ְיר ֖ ֣ל ֹא ְת ַלֵ ֑קּט ֶ ֽל ָﬠִ ֤ני ְו ַל ֵגּ ֙ר completely remove the corner of your field during your ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֣זֹב ֹא ָ֔תם ֲאִ ֖ני ְי ָ ֥הוֹה ֱא ֽ ֵהי ֶ ֽכם: harvesting, and you shall not gather up the gleanings of your harvest. [Rather,] you shall leave these for the poor person and for the stranger. I am the Lord, your God.

Fourth Portion Leviticus Chapter 23

כג ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֥בּר ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּ ֽ ֹאמר: ,And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying .23

כד ַדּ ֵ ֛בּר ֶאל־ ְבֵּ ֥ני ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֖אל ֵל ֑ ֹאמר ַבּ ֨חֹ ֶדשׁ ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֜יﬠי Speak to the children of Israel, saying: In the seventh .24 month, on the first of the month, it shall be a Sabbath for you, a ְבּ ֶא ָ ֣חד ַל ֗חֹ ֶדשׁ ִֽי ְהֶי֤ה ָל ֶכ ֙ם ַשׁ ָבּ ֔תוֹן ִז ְכ ֥רוֹן ְתּ ָ ֖רוּﬠה ִמ ְקָרא ֽ־קֹ ֶדשׁ: remembrance of [Israel through] the shofar blast a holy occasion.

כה ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה ֣ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֑שׂוּ ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ ֥תּם ִא ֶ ֖שּׁה You shall not perform any work of labor, and you shall offer .25

ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: .up a fire offering to the Lord

כו ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֥בּר ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּ ֽ ֹאמר: :And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying .26

כז ַ֡א ֶ ֽבּ ָﬠ ֣שׂוֹר ַל֩חֹ ֶד ֩שׁ ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֨יﬠי ַה ֶ֜זּה ֧יוֹם ַה ִכּ ֻפִּ ֣רים But on the tenth of this seventh month, it is a day of .27 ֗הוּא ִמ ְקָרא ֨־קֹ ֶד ֙שׁ ִֽי ְהֶי֣ה ָל ֶ֔כם ְו ִﬠ ִנּי ֶ ֖תם ֶאת ַ־נ ְפ ֽשֹׁ ֵתי ֶ ֑כם atonement, it shall be a holy occasion for you; you shall afflict ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ ֥תּם ִא ֶ ֖שּׁה ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: .yourselves, and you shall offer up a fire offering to the Lord

כח ְו ָכ ְל־מ ָל ָאכ ֙ה ֣ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֔שׂוּ ְבּ ֶ ֖ﬠ ֶצם ַה֣יּוֹם ַהֶ ֑זּה ִ ֣כּי You shall not perform any work on that very day, for it is a .28 ֤יוֹם ִכּ ֻפִּרי ֙ם ֔הוּא ְל ַכ ֵ ֣פּר ֲﬠ ֵלי ֶ֔כם ִל ְפֵ ֖ני ְי ָ ֥הוֹה ֱא ֽ ֵהי ֶ ֽכם: ,day of atonement, for you to gain atonement before the Lord your God.

כט ִ ֤כּי ָכ ַל־ה ֶ֨נּ ֶפ ֙שׁ ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר ֽל ֹא ְ־ת ֻﬠ ֶ֔נּה ְבּ ֶ ֖ﬠ ֶצם ַה֣יּוֹם ַהֶ ֑זּה ,For any person who will not be afflicted on that very day .29

ְו ִנ ְכְר ָ ֖תה ֵ ֽמ ַﬠ ֶ ֽמּ ָיה: .shall be cut off from its people

ל ְו ָכ ַל־ה ֶ֗נּ ֶפשׁ ֲא ֶ ֤שׁר ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֶשׂ ֙ה ָכּ ְל־מ ָל ָ֔אכה ְבּ ֶ ֖ﬠ ֶצם And any person who performs any work on that very day I .30

ַה֣יּוֹם ַהֶ ֑זּה ְו ַ ֽה ֲא ַב ְד ִ ֛תּי ֶאת ַ־הֶ ֥נּ ֶפשׁ ַה ִ ֖הוא ִמֶ ֥קֶּרב ַﬠ ָ ֽמּהּ: .will destroy that person from amidst its people

לא ָכּ ְל־מ ָל ָ ֖אכה ֣ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֑שׂוּ ֻחַ ֤קּת ָעוֹל ֙ם ְלדֹ֣רֹ ֵתי ֶ֔כם You shall not perform any work. [This is] an eternal statute .31

ְבּ ֖כֹל ֽמ ְשׁ ֽבֹ ֵתי ֶ ֽכם: .throughout your generations in all your dwelling places לב ַשׁ ַ֨בּת ַשׁ ָבּ ֥תוֹן ֙הוּא ָל ֶ֔כם ְו ִﬠ ִנּי ֶ ֖תם ֶאת ַ־נ ְפ ֽשֹׁ ֵתי ֶ ֑כם It is a complete day of rest for you, and you shall afflict .32 ְבּ ִת ְשׁ ָ ֤ﬠה ַל ֨חֹ ֶד ֙שׁ ָבּ ֶ֔ﬠֶרב ֵמ ֶ ֣ﬠֶרב ַﬠד־ ֶ֔ﬠֶרב ִתּ ְשׁ ְבּ ֖תוּ yourselves. Fifth Portion Leviticus Chapter 23

לג ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֥בּר ְי ָ ֖הוֹה ֶאל־מ ֶ ֥שׁה ֵלּ ֽ ֹאמר: ,And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying .33

לד ַדּ ֵ ֛בּר ֶאל־ ְבֵּ ֥ני ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֖אל ֵל ֑ ֹאמר ַ ֽבּ ֲח ִמ ָ֨שּׁה ָﬠ ָ֜שׂר ֗יוֹם Speak to the children of Israel, saying: On the fifteenth day .34 ַל ֤חֹ ֶדשׁ ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ ֙יﬠי ַה ֶ֔זּה ַ ֧חג ַה ֻסּ ֛כּוֹת ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֖מים of this seventh month, is the Festival of Succoth, a seven day ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: .period to the Lord

לה ַבּ֥יּוֹם ָ ֽהִרא ֖שׁוֹן ִמ ְקָרא ֑־קֹ ֶדשׁ ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה On the first day, it is a holy occasion; you shall not perform .35

֥ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֽשׂוּ: .any work of labor

לו ִשׁ ְב ַ ֣ﬠת ָי ִ֔מים ַתּ ְקִ֥ריבוּ ִא ֶ ֖שּׁה ַ ֽל ָ ֑יהוֹה ַבּ֣יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִמ ִ֡יני For] a seven day period, you shall bring a fire offering to] .36 the Lord. On the eighth day, it shall be a holy occasion for you, ִמ ְקָרא ֩־קֹ ֶד ֩שׁ ִֽי ְהֶ֨יה ָל ֶ֜כם ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ֨תּם ִא ֶ ֤שּׁה ַ ֽל ָיהוֹ ֙ה ֲﬠ ֶ ֣צֶרת ִ֔הוא ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה ֥ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֽשׂוּ: [and you shall bring a fire offering to the Lord. It is a [day of detention. You shall not perform any work of labor.

לז ֵ֚א ֶלּה ֽמ ֲוֹﬠ ֵ ֣די ְי ָ ֔הוֹה ֲא ֶשׁ ִר־תּ ְקְר ֥אוּ ֹא ָ ֖תם ִמ ְקָר ֵ ֣אי These are God's appointed [holy days] that you shall .37 designate them as holy occasions, [on which] to offer up a fire ֑קֹ ֶדשׁ ְל ַה ְקִ ֨ריב ִא ֶ֜שּׁה ַ ֽל ָ ֗יהוֹה עֹ ָ ֧לה וּ ִמ ְנ ָ ֛חה ֶ ֥ז ַבח ְוּנ ָס ִ ֖כים ְדּ ַבר־ ֥יוֹם ְבּיוֹ ֽמוֹ: offering to the Lord burnt offering and meal offering, sacrifice and libations, the requirement of each day on its day;

לח ִמ ְלּ ַ ֖בד ַשׁ ְבּ ֣ ֹתת ְי ָ ֑הוֹה וּ ִמ ְלּ ַ ֣בד ַמ ְתּ ֽנ ֵוֹתי ֶ֗כם וּ ִמ ְלּ ַ ֤בד ,apart from the Lord's Sabbaths, and apart from your gifts .38 ָכּ ִל־נְדֵרי ֶכ ֙ם וּ ִמ ְלּ ַב ֙ד ָכּ ִל־נְד ֣בֹ ֵתי ֶ֔כם ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר ִתּ ְתּ ֖נוּ and apart from all your vows, and apart from all your donations ַ ֽל ָ ֽיהוֹה: .that you give to the Lord

לט ַ֡א ַ ֽבּ ֲח ִמ ָשּׁ ֩ה ָﬠ ָ֨שׂר ֜יוֹם ַל ֣חֹ ֶדשׁ ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֗יﬠי But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you .39 ְבּ ָא ְס ְפּ ֶכ ֙ם ֶאת ְ־תּ ַ ֣בוּאת ָה ָ֔אֶרץ ָתּ ֥חֹגּוּ ֶאת ַ־חג־ ְי ָ ֖הוֹה gather in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the

ִשׁ ְב ַ ֣ﬠת ָי ִ ֑מים ַבּ֤יּוֹם ָ ֽהִרא ֙שׁוֹן ַשׁ ָבּ ֔תוֹן וּ ַב֥יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִמ ִ ֖יני festival of the Lord for a seven day period; the first day shall be a rest day, and the eighth day shall be a rest day. ַשׁ ָבּ ֽתוֹן:

מ ְוּל ַק ְח ֶ֨תּם ָל ֶ֜כם ַבּ֣יּוֹם ָ ֽהִרא ֗שׁוֹן ְפִּ ֨רי ֵ ֤ﬠץ ָה ָד ֙ר ַכּ ֣ ֹפּת And you shall take for yourselves on the first day, the fruit .40 of the hadar tree, date palm fronds, a branch of a braided tree, ְתּ ָמִ ֔רים ַ ֽו ֲﬠַ ֥נ ף ֵ ֽﬠץ־ ָﬠ ֖בֹת ְו ַﬠְר ֵב ָ ֑י־נ ַחל ְוּשׂ ַמ ְח ֶ֗תּם ִל ְפֵ ֛ני ְי ָ ֥הוֹה ֱא ֽ ֵהי ֶ ֖כם ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִֽמים: and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for a seven day period.

מא ְו ַח ֹגּ ֶ ֤תם ֹא ֙תוֹ ַ ֣חג ַ ֽל ָ ֔יהוֹה ִשׁ ְב ַ ֥ﬠת ָי ִ ֖מים ַבּ ָשָּׁ ֑נה And you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord for .41 ֻחַ ֤קּת ָעוֹל ֙ם ְלדֹ֣רֹ ֵתי ֶ֔כם ַבּ ֥חֹ ֶדשׁ ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ ֖יﬠי ָתּ ֥חֹגּוּ ֹא ֽתוֹ: seven days in the year. [It is] an eternal statute throughout your generations [that] you celebrate it in the seventh month.

מב ַבּ ֻסּ ֥כֹּת ֵ ֽתּ ְשׁ ֖בוּ ִשׁ ְב ַ ֣ﬠת ָי ִ ֑מים ָכּ ָ ֽל־ה ֶאְזָר ֙ח For a seven day period you shall live in booths. Every .42

ְבִּי ְשָׂר ֵ֔אל ֵ ֽי ְשׁ ֖בוּ ַבּ ֻסּ ֽכֹּת: ,resident among the Israelites shall live in booths

מג ְל ַ֘מ ַﬠ֘ן ֵ ֽי ְ ד ֣ﬠוּ דֹֽרֹ ֵתי ֶכ ֒ם ִ ֣כּי ַב ֻסּ ֗כּוֹת ַ֨הוֹשׁ ְב ִ ֙תּי in order that your [ensuing] generations should know that I .43 ֶאת־ ְבֵּ ֣ני ִי ְשָׂר ֵ֔אל ְבּ ֽה ִוֹצ ִ֥יאי ָ ֖אוֹתם ֵמ ֶ ֣אֶרץ ִמ ְצָ ֑ר ִים ֲאִ ֖ני had the children of Israel live in booths when I took them out of ְי ָ ֥הוֹה ֱא ֽ ֵהי ֶ ֽכם: .the land of Egypt. I am the Lord, your God

מד ַו ְי ַד ֵ ֣בּר מ ֶ֔שׁה ֶאת ֽ ֹ־מ ֲﬠ ֵ ֖די ְי ָ ֑הוֹה ֶאל־ ְבֵּ ֖ני ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֽאל: And Moses told the children of Israel [these laws] of the .44

Lord's appointed [holy days].

Maftir Portion Numbers Chapter 28 יט ְו ִה ְקַר ְב ֶ֨תּם ִא ֶ ֤שּׁה עֹ ָל ֙ה ַ ֽל ָ ֔יהוֹה ָפִּ ֧רים ְבֵּ ֽני־ ָבָ ֛ קר You shall offer up a fire offering, a burnt offering to the .19 ְשַׁ ֖נ ִ ים ְו ַ ֣אִיל ֶא ָ ֑חד ְו ִשׁ ְב ָ ֤ﬠה ְכ ָב ִשׂי ֙ם ְבֵּ ֣ני ָשׁ ָ֔נה ְתּ ִמי ִ ֖מם Lord: two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs in the first ִֽי ְה֥יוּ ָל ֶ ֽכם: .year they shall be unblemished for you

כ וּ ִ֨מ ְנ ָח ָ֔תם ֖סֹ ֶלת ְבּ ָ ֣לוּלה ַב ָ ֑שּׁ ֶמן ְשׁ ָ֨לשׁה ֶﬠ ְשׂרִֹ֜נים ;Their meal offerings [shall be] fine flour mixed with oil .20 ַל ָ֗פּר ְוּשֵׁ ֧ני ֶﬠ ְשׂרִֹ ֛נים ָל ַ ֖אִיל ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֽשׂוּ: three tenths for each bull and two tenths for the ram you shall offer up.

כא ִﬠ ָשּׂ ֤רוֹן ִﬠ ָשּׂ ֙רוֹן ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֶ֔שׂה ַל ֶ ֖כּ ֶבשׂ ָ ֽה ֶא ָ ֑חד ְל ִשׁ ְב ַ ֖ﬠת And you shall offer up one tenth for each lamb, for all .21

ַה ְכּ ָב ִֽשׂים: .seven lambs

כב ְוּשׂ ִ֥ﬠיר ַח ָ ֖טּאת ֶא ָ ֑חד ְל ַכ ֵ ֖פּר ֲﬠ ֵלי ֶ ֽכם: And one young male goat for a sin offering to atone for .22 you.

כג ִמ ְלּ ַב ֙ד עֹ ַ ֣לת ַה ֔בֹּ ֶקר ֲא ֶ ֖שׁר ְלעֹ ַ ֣לת ַה ָתּ ִ ֑מיד ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֖שׂוּ You shall offer these up besides the morning burnt offering .23

ֶאת ֵ ֽ־א ֶלּה: .which is offered as a continual burnt offering

כד ָכּ ֵ֜א ֶלּה ַ ֽתּ ֲﬠ ֤שׂוּ ַל ֙יּוֹם ִשׁ ְב ַ ֣ﬠת ָי ִ֔מים ֶ ֛ל ֶחם ִא ֵ ֥שּׁה Like these, you shall offer up daily for seven days, food of .24 the fire offering, a spirit of satisfaction to the Lord; you shall ֵ ֽר ַי ִ־נ ֖יחַֹ ַ ֽל ָ ֑יהוֹה ַﬠל־ ַ ֧עוֹלת ַה ָתּ ִ ֛מיד ֵ ֽי ָﬠ ֶ ֖שׂה ְו ִנ ְס ֽכּוֹ: offer up this in addition to the continual burnt offering and its libation.

כה וּ ַב ֙יּוֹם ַה ְשּׁ ִב ִ֔יﬠי ִמ ְקָרא ֖־קֹ ֶדשׁ ִֽי ְהֶי֣ה ָל ֶ ֑כם The seventh day shall be a holy convocation for you; you .25

ָכּ ְל־מ ֶ ֥ל ֶאכת ֲﬠבָֹ ֖דה ֥ל ֹא ַ ֽת ֲﬠ ֽשׂוּ: .shall not perform any mundane work Haftarah II Kings Chapter 23 א ַו ִיּ ְשׁ ַ ֖לח ַה ֶ ֑מּ ֶל ַו ַיּ ַא ְס ֣פוּ ֵא ָ֔ליו ָכּל־ ִז ְקֵ ֥ני ְי ָ ֖הוּדה And the king summoned, and they assembled before him .1

ִו ָירוּשׁ ָ ֽל ִם: .all the elders of Judah and

ב ַוַיּ֣ ַﬠל ַה ֶ ֣מּ ֶל ֵבּית־ ְי ָ ֡הוֹה ְו ָכ ִ ֣ל־אישׁ ְי ָהוּד ֩ה And the king went up to the house of the Lord, and all the .2 ְו ָכל־י ְשׁ ֵ֨בי ְי ָרוּשׁ ַ֜ל ִם ִא ֗תּוֹ ְו ַה ֽכֹּ ֲה ִני ֙ם ְו ַה ְנּ ִב ִ֔יאים people of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem were with him, and the priests and the prophets, and all the people from ְו ָכ ָל־ה ָ ֖ﬠם ְל ִמ ָקּ ֣טֹן ְו ַﬠ ָד־גּ֑דוֹל ַו ִיּ ְקָ ֣רא ְב ָאְז ֵנ ֶ֗יהם small to great, and he read within their hearing all the words of ֶאת ָ־כּ ִל־דּ ְבֵר֙י ֵ ֣ס ֶפר ַה ְבִּ ֔רית ַה ִנּ ְמ ָ ֖צא ְבּ ֵ ֥בית ְי ָ ֽהוֹה: the scroll of the covenant that was found in the house of the Lord.

ג ַו ַיּ ֲﬠ ֣ ֹמד ַ֠ה ֶמּ ֶל ַ ֽﬠ ָ֨ל־ה ַﬠ ֜מּוּד ַו ִיּ ְכ ֥רֹת ֶ ֽאת ַ־ה ְבִּ ֣רית | And the king stood on his place, and enacted the covenant .3 ִל ְפֵ ֣ני ְי ָ ֗הוֹה ָל ֶ֜ל ֶכת ַא ַ֚חר ְי ָהוֹ ֙ה ְו ִל ְשׁ ֨ ֹמר ִמ ְצוֹ ָ֜תיו before the Lord, to follow the Lord and to observe His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all ְו ֶאת־ ֵﬠ ְדוֹ ָ֚תיו ְו ֶאת ֻ־חקֹּ ָת ֙יו ְבּ ָכל־ ֵ ֣לב וּ ְב ָכ ֶ֔ל־נ ֶפשׁ their heart and soul, to fulfill the words of this covenant, which ְל ָה ִ֗קים ֶאת ִ־דּ ְבֵר֙י ַה ְבִּ ֣רית ַה ֔זּ ֹאת ַה ְכּ ֻת ִ ֖בים are written in this scroll. And all the people were steadfast in ַﬠ ַל־ה ֵ ֣סּ ֶפר ַהֶ ֑זּה ַו ַיּ ֲﬠ ֥ ֹמד ָכּ ָל־ה ָ ֖ﬠם ַבּ ְבִּֽרית: their acceptance of the covenant.

ד ַו ְי ַ ֣צו ַה ֶ֡מּ ֶל ֶאת ִ־ח ְל ִק ָיּ ֩הוּ ַהכֹּ ֵ֨הן ַה ָגּ ֜דוֹל ְו ֶאת־כֹּ ֲהֵ ֣ני And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the .4 ַה ִמּ ְשׁ ֶנ ֘ה ְו ֶאת־שֹׁ ְמֵ ֣רי ַה ַסּ ֒ף ְל ִהוֹצ ֙יא ֵמ ֵהי ַ ֣כל ְי ָ ֔הוֹה ֵ ֣את priests of the second rank and the guards of the threshold, to take out of the Temple of the Lord all the utensils that were ָכּ ַל־ה ֵכּ ִ֗לים ָ ֽה ֲﬠ ִשׂוּי ֙ם ַל ַ ֣בּ ַﬠל ְו ָ ֽל ֲא ֵשָׁ ֔רה ְוּל ֖כֹל ְצ ָ ֣בא made for the Baal and for the asherah, and for the entire host ַה ָשּׁ ָ ֑מִים ַ ֽו ִ יּ ְשְׁר ֵ֞פם ִמ ֚חוּץ ִל ָירוּשׁ ַ֙ל ִ֙ם ְבּ ַשׁ ְד ֣מוֹת ִק ְד ֔רוֹן of the heaven, and he burnt them outside Jerusalem in the ְו ָנ ָ ֥שֹא ֶאת־ ֲﬠ ָפָ ֖רם ֵ ֽבּית ֵ ֽ־אל: plains of Kidron, and he carried their ashes to Bethel.

ה ְו ִה ְשׁ ִ ֣בּית ֶאת ַ־ה ְכּ ָמִ ֗רים ֲא ֶ֚שׁר ָ ֽנ ְת ֙נוּ ַמ ְל ֵ ֣כי ְי ָ֔הוּדה And he abolished the pagan priests whom the kings of .5 ַו ְי ַק ֵ֚טּר ַבּ ָבּ ֙מוֹת ְבּ ָﬠֵ ֣רי ְי ָ֔הוּדה וּ ְמ ִס ֵ ֖בּי ְי ָרוּשׁ ָ ֑ל ִם Judah had appointed and who had burnt incense on the high ְו ֶאת ַ ֽ־ה ְמ ַק ְטִּ ֣רים ַל ַ֗בּ ַﬠל ַל ֶ֚שּׁ ֶמשׁ ְו ַל ָיֵּ ֙רַ ֙ ְו ַל ַמָּזּ ֔לוֹת ְוּל ֖כֹל ,places in the cities of Judah and the environs of Jerusalem and those who burnt incense to the Baal, to the sun, to the ְצ ָ ֥בא ַה ָשּׁ ָ ֽמִים: moon, and to the constellations, and to all the host of heaven.

ו ַויֹּ ֵ ֣צא ֶאת ָ־ה ֲא ֵשָׁר ֩ה ִמ ֵ֨בּית ְי ָ ֜הוֹה ִמ ֚חוּץ ִל ָירוּשׁ ַ֙ל ִ֙ם And he took the asherah out of the house of the Lord to the .6 outside of Jerusalem, to the Kidron Valley, and he burnt it in the ֶא ַ ֣ל־נ ַחל ִק ְד ֔רוֹן ַו ִיּ ְשׂ ֥רֹף ֹא ָ ֛תהּ ְבַּ ֥נ ַחל ִק ְד ֖רוֹן ַוָיּ֣ ֶ דק ְל ָﬠ ָ ֑פר ַו ַיּ ְשׁ ֵל ֙ ֶאת־ ֲﬠ ָפָ ֔רהּ ַﬠ ֶ ֖ל־ק ֶבר ְבֵּ ֥ני ָה ָ ֽﬠם: Kidron Valley and he pulverized it into dust; and he threw its dust on the graves of the members of the people.

ז ַו ִיּ ֹתּ ֙ץ ֶאת־ ָבּ ֵ ֣תּי ַה ְקּ ֵד ִ֔שׁים ֲא ֶ ֖שׁר ְבּ ֵ ֣בית ְי ָ ֑הוֹה ֲא ֶ ֣שׁר And he demolished the houses devoted to pagan worship .7 ַה ָנּ ִ֗שׁים ֹאְר ֥גוֹת ָ ֛שׁם ָבּ ִ ֖תּים ָל ֲא ֵשָׁ ֽרה: that were in the house of the Lord, where the women weave enclosures for the asherah.

ח ַו ָיּ ֵ֚ בא ֶאת ָ־כּ ַל־ה ֽכֹּ ֲה ִני ֙ם ֵמ ָﬠֵ ֣רי ְי ָ֔הוּדה ַו ְי ַט ֵ ֣מּא And he brought all the priests from the cities of Judah, and .8 he defiled the high places where the priests had burnt incense, ֶאת ַ־ה ָבּ ֗מוֹת ֲא ֶ֚שׁר ִק ְטּרוּ־ ָ֙שׁ ָמּ ֙ה ַה ֣כֹּ ֲה ִ֔נים ִמֶ ֖גּ ַבע from Geba as far as Beersheba, and he demolished the high ַﬠד־ ְבּ ֵ ֣אר ָ ֑שׁ ַבע ְו ָנ ַ֞תץ ֶאת־ ָבּ ֣מוֹת ַה ְשּׁ ָﬠִ ֗רים places near the gates, the one that was at the entrance of the ֲא ֶשׁ ֶ֜ר־פּ ַתח ַ֚שׁ ַﬠר ְי ֻ֙הוֹשׁ ַ֙ ַשׂ ָר־ה ִ֔ﬠיר gate of Joshua the mayor of the city, which is on a person's left in the gate of the city. ֲא ֶ ֽשׁר־ ַﬠל־ ְשׂ ֥מ ֹאול ִ ֖אישׁ ְבּ ַ ֥שׁ ַﬠר ָה ִֽﬠיר:

ט ַ֗א ֚ל ֹא ַ ֽי ֲﬠ ֙לוּ כֹּ ֲהֵ ֣ני ַה ָבּ ֔מוֹת ֶא ִל־מְז ַ ֥בּח ְי ָ ֖הוֹה However, the priests of the high places would not go up to .9 ִבּ ָירוּשׁ ָ ֑ל ִם ִ ֛כּי ִא ָם־א ְכ ֥לוּ ַמ ֖צּוֹת ְבּ ֥תוֹ ֲא ֵח ֶ ֽיהם: the Lord's altar in Jerusalem, but they would eat unleavened cakes among their brethren.

II Kings Chapter 23 כא ַו ְי ַ֚ צו ַה ֶ֙מּ ֶל ֙ ֶאת ָ־כּ ָל־ה ָ ֣ﬠם ֵל ֔ ֹאמר ֲﬠ ֣שֹוּ ֶ֔פ ַסח And the king commanded all the people, saying, "Perform .21 ַ ֽל ָ ֖יהוֹה ֱא ֽ ֵהי ֶ ֑כם ַכּ ָכּ ֕תוּב ַ ֛ﬠל ֵ ֥ס ֶפר ַה ְבִּ ֖רית ַהֶ ֽזּה: a Passover sacrifice to the Lord your God, as it is written in this scroll of the covenant."

כב ִ ֣כּי ֚ל ֹא ַ ֽנ ֲﬠ ָשׂ ֙ה ַכּ ֶ ֣פּ ַסח ַה ֶ֔זּה ִמי ֵ ֙מי ַה ֣שֹּׁ ְפ ִ֔טים ֲא ֶ ֥שׁר For such a Passover sacrifice had not been performed .22 ָשׁ ְפ ֖טוּ ֶאת־ ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֑אל ְו ֗כֹל ְי ֵ ֛מי ַמ ְל ֵ ֥כי ִי ְשָׂר ֵ ֖אל וּ ַמ ְל ֵ ֥כי since the time of the judges who judged Israel, and all the days ְי ָ ֽהוּדה: .of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah

כג ִ֗כּי ִאם־ ִבּ ְשׁ ֹמ ֶ֚נה ֶﬠ ְשֵׂר ֙ה ָשׁ ָ֔נה ַל ֶ ֽמּ ֶל ֽי ֹא ִשָׁיּ֑הוּ Except in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this .23

ַנ ֲﬠ ָ֞שֹה ַה ֶ ֧פּ ַסח ַהֶ ֛זּה ַל ָ ֖יהוֹה ִבּ ָירוּשׁ ָ ֽל ִם: .Passover sacrifice was performed to the Lord, in Jerusalem
