Softly and Tenderly I Then Shall Live

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, I then shall live as one who’s been forgiven; Calling for you and for me; I’ll walk with joy to know my debts are paid. See, on the portals he’s waiting and watching, I know my name is clear before my Father; Watching for you and for me. I am his child, and I am not afraid. So greatly pardoned, I’ll forgive another; (Refrain) The law of love I gladly will obey. Come home, come home, Ye who are weary, come home; I then shall live Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, as one who’s learned compassion; Calling, O sinner, come home! I’ve been so loved that I’ll risk loving too. I know how fear Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading, builds walls instead of bridges; Pleading for you and for me? I dare to see another’s point of view. Why should we linger And when relationships demand commitment, and heed not his mercies, Then I’ll be there to care and follow through. Mercies for you and for me? Your kingdom come (Refrain) around and through and in me, Your power and glory, O for the wonderful love he has promised, let them shine through me; Promised for you and for me! Your hallowed name, Though we have sinned, O may I bear with honor, he has mercy and pardon, And may your living Kingdom come in me. Pardon for you and for me. The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor, And may you feed a hungry world through (Refrain) me.

I Love You, Lord

I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice To worship you, O my soul, rejoice! Take joy, my King, in what you hear: May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.

A Mighty Fortress is Our God We Are Called to be God’s People

A mighty fortress is our God, We are called to be God’s people, A bulwark never failing; Showing by our lives his grace, Our helper he, amid the flood One in heart and one in spirit, Of mortal ills prevailing. Sign of Hope for all the race. For still our ancient foe Let us show how he has changed us, Doth seek to work us woe; And remade us as his own, His craft and power are great, Let us share our life together And, armed with cruel hate, As we shall around his throne. On earth is not his equal. We are called to be God’s servants, Did we in our own strength confide, Working in his world today; Our striving would be losing, Taking his own task upon us, Were not the right man on our side, All his sacred words obey. The man of God’s own choosing. Let us rise, then, to his summons, Dost ask who that may be? Dedicate to him our all, Christ Jesus, it is he; That we may be faithful servants, Lord Sabaoth his name, Quick to answer now his call. From age to age the same, And he win the battle. We are called to be God’s prophets, Speaking for the truth and right, And though this world, with devils filled, Standing firm for godly justice, should threaten to undo us, Bringing evil things to light. We will not fear, for God hath willed Let us seek the courage needed, His truth to triumph through us. Our high calling to fulfill, The Prince of Darkness grim, That the world may know the blessing We tremble not for him; Of the doing of God’s will. His rage we can endure, For lo, his doom is sure; One little word shall fell him.

That word above all earthly powers, No thanks to them, abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours Through him who with us sideth. Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also; The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still; His kingdom is forever.
