From Editor’s desk

It’s a matter of great pleasure to come up with the latest edition of Reflections, newsletter of the Department of Commerce. This edition echoes the different activities of the department held during the period of April 2018 - December 2019. This period witnessed change of the Head of the department as Prof Kavita Sharma handed over the charge to Prof R K Singh upon completion of her tenure as head. Prof R K Singh took over the office of the Head in March 2019. The department underwent a laborious process of revision of syllabi for under-graduate and post-graduate courses as per CBCS, which got implemented from the Academic Session 2019-20. With an aim of engaging and involving teachers from different colleges under the university of Delhi, Prof R K Singh initiated Department— College Interface (DCI). The map drawn by Prof R K Singh is an endeavour to bridge the gap between the Department and Colleges and to reinforce the collaboration for larger academic good. The workshops organised under the aegis of DCI, broadly aimed at addressing issues related to pedagogy in delivering the courses to the students effectively. Apart from this the department also collaborated with colleges in conducting Faculty Development Programmes, seminars and conferences. The department currently runs three Masters programs (M Com, MBA - IB, MBA - HRD) and two research programs (M Phil and Ph D). The details of different activities conducted through these programs are detailed in this newsletter and since this issue of the newsletter covers events of around 20 months, the activities are put in brief. Feedback from the readers will be appreciated for improvement of the Reflections which could be sent to:[email protected] Best Wishes! Prof. V K Shrotryia
