UNBALANCED SCHEDULE AWAITS THE LADY WILDCATS

COACHING STAFF  Only five of the first 13 games will be at home for the Lady Wild- Head Coach Lenise Stallings cats. They will begin the 2020 portion of their schedule with four of Alma Mater Mississippi Valley State the first six at home. The regular season will end with Wiley College Experience 1st Season only playing four of their last nine at Alumni Gymnasium.  This season Wiley College is relying on the 3-pointer less as only 54 of its 156 shot attempts have been from long range. It has made 29.6 percent.

 Armonie Lomax leads the team with nine. She ranks 19th in the NAIA in 3-pointers per game. She is shooting 34.6 percent from long distance.

 Wiley College ranks 37th in the NAIA in rebounds allowed with opponents averaging 36 per game.

 Passion Burrell leads the team with 7.3 per game. WILEY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DOUBLE-DOUBLE TRACKER SEASON NOTES STRINGING WINS TOGETHER

 The Lady Wildcats are searching for their first winning streak since taking the last two regular season games in 2017-18.

 It’s the first time since prior to 2005-06 that Wiley College failed to put together a winning streak.

PLAYING AGAINST THE BIG GIRLS

 The Lady Wildcats have scheduled three games against NCAA Division I opponents. They visit Southern University on November 11, Prairie View A&M on November 23 and Sam Houston State University on December 30.

 Three of Wiley College’s opponents were ranked in the NAIA Divi- sion I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 preason poll. Oklaho- ma City University—which visits the Lady Wildcats on December 4 is ranked No. 3. Red River Athletic Conference schools Our Lady of the Lake University is No. 6 and LSU-Alexandria is No. 23. The Lady Wildcats host Our Lady of the Lake on January 18 and visit it on February 22. They travel to LSU-Alexandria on December 14 and host it on February 8.

 Wiley College last beat an NCAA Division I school on November 18, 2016, 57-51 over Sam Houston State University. The Lady Wildcats haven’t beat a ranked NAIA team since defeating No. 5 Langston on January 24, 2015.

RESTORING HOME COURT ADVANTAGE

 The Lady Wildcats are hoping to make Alumni Gymnasium be a house of terror for opponents again.

 Wiley College is 8-10 in Alumni Gymnasium since January 26, 2018. It has lost its last three home games.

Lenise Stallings was introduced as Wiley College head women’s basketball coach on July 11, 2019. She comes to Wiley College with five years of NCAA Division I coaching experience at Historically Black Colleges and Universities – spending the last two sea- sons as an assistant at Tennessee State University. She was instrumental in scouting, player development and game planning. Stallings developed a 1,000-point scorer who earned Second Team All-Ohio Valley Con- ference and the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year. Additionally, she coordinated the program’s summer basketball camps. She also helped her stu- dent-athletes adjust to college life and check on their academic progress. Prior to Tennessee State University, she spent three seasons at her alma mater Mississippi Valley State University as an assistant coach.
