SITUATION AND DESCRIPTION

Staplers Barn enjoys a tucked away country position, on the edge of Dartmoor, yet convenient to the facilities of Plymouth city centre (about 7 miles) and the local moorland villages. In nearby Shaugh Prior is a primary school, church and public house while there are local shops in (about 4 miles) or Yelverton (about 5 miles). There is a Tesco superstore at Lee Mill about 6 miles. Trains run direct from Plymouth to London (Paddington) in under 4 hours. Ferries from Plymouth sail to France and Spain.

Full of period character Staplers Barn is stone built with a lightly beamed interior with oak ledged doors and has double glazed mainly hardwood windows. It dates from 1840 and was originally part of the historic Truelove Farm Estate, being converted to a house in 2000. It sits in a cluster of 3 dwellings consisting of the ancient Grade ll* listed farmhouse and another barn, all at the end of a long private tarmac drive, away from traffic. The current owners have made further enhancements and in 2015 added a forth bedroom and gained planning consent for a detached outbuilding consisting of a garage, utility/store and study. The gardens surround the house and have lovely long views across adjacent paddocks and open countryside.

The accommodation is on 3 floors and comprises: 4 Bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (including 2 suites), Hall, 34’9” Living Room/Kitchen, Oil CH, Car Parking, Garden about 1/3rd acre,.

OWNERS’ COMMENTS

“When we first came to the barn it made us say 'wow' and still nearly 12 years on we feel lucky to have spent so much time here. It's an escape from work life to the peace and quiet surround- ing Truelove but is within easy distance of beautiful beaches, the moors and Plymouth city centre.”
