SKI TOURING Mountain guides and BaseCamps

Winter has finally arrived and all you have to do is get out there and up the mountains. The ski touring equipment is ready and the peaks are awaiting the well-informed skiers. Something that makes the Gesäuse special when it comes to ski touring are the National Park Routes, which are signposted even in winter.

If you don’t feel entirely safe ski touring on your own, you should take somebody along that really knows his or her way around and understands how to read the snow condi- tions. And that brings us back to the moun- tain guides (see page 32) because they also offer their services during the winter when the snowy mountains are calling us.

And let’s not forget about the BaseCamps, where you can receive complete training for ski touring in small groups. During four days you will learn how to ski tour or snowshoe.

AND COME BACK SOON!

Of course we can’t predict the future, but the Gesäuse is pretty addictive.

It’s a safe bet that you’ll be coming back very soon, because you simply won’t be able to get our rivers and mountains out of your mind.

No doubt about that!
