Dear friends, neighbours and visitors,

The usual very warm welcome is extended to everyone attending the 2017 Muir of Ord Gala.

As usual, Gala week marks the culmination of months of planning by an extremely dedicated team of volunteers who form the Gala Committee. It could not happen though were it not for the huge amount of community spirit in the village. We are so thankful to the individuals, groups and businesses that continuously support us. We are also extremely grateful to all the people who dedicate their time to help during gala week, whether it be running events, serving teas, baking cakes, cooking burgers, setting up equipment, playing songs or clearing up. Your help is very much appreciated.

Gala Queen Amy Murdoch, Gala Princess Caitlyn MacLennan and Gala Prince Aiden Gibb are looking forward to a busy and enjoyable week as they attend lots of events and hand out prizes.

Take a pop into the Muir Hub during Gala week to see photos and a display of gala memories through the years, going as far back as 1956. This display is being put together by the Muir of Ord Heritage Group.

We need all the help we can get to ensure the Gala continues to go from strength to strength. Without the wonderful support we receive from the local community, the Gala would not be the success it is so please join us, lend a hand and your expertise. Don't forget there is always a welcome space for you on our committee too.

We hope that Gala 2017 will have something to offer all age groups and families.

Eat, sing, play, drink and enjoy yourselves. Have a great Gala everyone!

All the best Muir of Ord Gala Group
