“An increased number of new season lambs forward cashed in at dearer rates on the week. As they say in Showbiz ‘the curtain is beginning to fall’ on the hogg season. Hoggs forward were off vendors having end of season clear outs. The few well fleshed hoggs met a firm enquiry whilst the small leaner sorts met more resistance. Ewes met a brisk enquiry throughout with an increased ringside of buyers being out in force. Best pure continental ewes were in seriously short supply and many more could easily have been sold to vendors’ advantage. There were a lot of new vendors present today whose expectations were surpassed with ease”
