NOTICE OF RACE Open Dutch Championship RS Feva XL Open Class Championship for RS500 Local championship series RS Tera

Organized by KR & ZV de Maas and the Dutch RS Feva, RS500 and RS Tera Class associations in conjunction with the Royal Association (RSNA)

From: 19 September to 21 September (inclusive) 2014 Location: the event will be sailed on the Grevelingen off Bruinisse (Netherlands)

1 RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The .

1.2 The ‘Rules for Championships Sailing, and ’ will apply.

1.3 Only for the RS500 Class, Rule 31 is changed so that marks other than starting and finishing marks may be touched but not manhandled without a penalty.

1.4 Racing rule 40 will be changed so that personal floatation devices must be worn at all times while afloat. The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. The sailing instructions may change other rules as well.

1.5 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.

1.6 Every person on board who has his domicile in the Netherlands shall be a member of a Yachtclub or other body affiliated to the RNSA and shall have the appropriate license. The licenses will be checked before or upon registration. Crew licenses may be purchased at the registration office.

2 ADVERTISING

2.1 may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

2.2 Boats may be required to carry cameras and/or tracking equipment as specified by the Organising Authority.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the:  RS Feva XL Class (Open Dutch Championship)  RS500 Class (Open Class Championship)  RS Tera Class (local championship series)

3.2 Eligible boats have to enter by registration with the organizing authority as follows:  RS Feva XL: at the website www.sportinschrijving.nl Foreign boats, not able to register via www.sportinschrijving.nl may contact the POC as per NOR 21 to complete their registration.  RS500: at the websites www..nl and www.rs500.org. When you are not able to register this way you may contact the POC as per NOR 21 to complete your registration.  RS Tera: at the website www.rstera.org. When you are not able to register this way you may contact the POC as per NOR 21 to complete your registration and by making the required fee payment.

3.4 Entries after 17 September 2014 but before 20 September 2014 may be accepted, but an additional charge of € 15 will apply.

4 FEES

4.1 The entry fees are as follows:  RS Feva XL class €75 per ;  RS500 Class €75 per boat;  RS Tera €50 per boat. Entries after 17 September 2014 will be charged with an extra fee of € 15.

5 QUALIFYING SERIES AND FINAL SERIES 5.1 When at 17 September 2014 there are more than 60 entries in a class, the regatta for that class may consist of a qualifying series and a final series.

6 SCHEDULE 6.1 Registered boats report at the regatta office: Friday 19 September from 19:00 to 20:30, or Saturday 20 September from 08:30 to 10:00 6.2 Measurement and inspection: Measurements and checks may be made at registration and may be made on the water. 6.3 Dates of racing: Date 20 September racing 21 September racing 6.4 Number of races: A minimum of 7 races will be scheduled for all classes Date: Number of Races per day: 20 September 4 21 September 3 (4 when less than 4 races have been completed on 20 September) 6.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race on the first day is 10.55, and 09.55 for the first race on the second day. 6.6 On the last day of the regatta no warning signal will be made after 15:00.

7 MEASUREMENTS 7.1 Each Dutch boat shall be registered with the RNSA and will be required to present the appropriate certificate upon registration. 7.2 A boat shall register and use only the distinguishing letter(s) and number indicated on her certificate. Requests to use a different sail number during racing shall be lodged with the Regatta Office in writing not later than 60 minutes before the start of the first race of the day. The Race Committee will only consider such request(s) if it is convinced the original number cannot be applied to the sail(s) concerned.

8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available when registering at the Regatta Office and at the websites www.rsfeva-klasse.nl, www.rs500.nl and www.rstera.org on or before 17 September 2014.

10 THE COURSES The courses to be sailed will be Trapezoid Courses. They will be described in detail in the Sailing Instructions.

11 PENALTY SYSTEM 11.1 The right of appeal is denied in the qualifying series. The RNSA has given permission as required under RRS 70.5 (a) and the prescriptions of the RNSA. 11.2 For RS Feva XL RRS 44 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One- Turn Penalty.

12 SCORING 12.1 Four races are required to be completed to constitute a series. 12.2 (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. (b) When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

13 SUPPORT BOATS Support boats might be required to be marked with a yellow flag with a black identification number or other flag provided by the organising authority and their national flag or letters. The Bruinisse Marina mooring fee (incl. usage of launching site) of €50 will have to be paid at registration.

14 BERTHING Boats shall be parked in their assigned places in the boat park.

17 RADIO COMMUNICATION Except in an emergency a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. VHF will only be used for safety communication.

18 PRIZES RS Feva XL: Prizes will be given to the helm and crew of the first seven boats, both aged 17 or under on 31st December 2014. The responsible person of the winning boat of the championship acquires the title "Dutch Champion" , the medal(s) and the Pennant of the RNSA Both crewmembers of the boats with the second and third lowest series score also will receive a medal of the RNSA.

19 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained, direct or indirect, in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

20 INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of Euro 1.500.000 per event or the equivalent.
