New Mission Women’s Center in Features American Standard Toilets, Lavatories and Faucets

The Bowery Mission Women’s Centers ― providers of faith-based residential programs for women who have experienced homelessness due to abuse, domestic violence, addiction, job loss, health issues or poverty ― recently opened a second location in Harlem in . The Centers, which provide a supportive community, classes and counseling, and job employment assistance, offer a secure environment, a spiritual foundation and a community of caring for women with no place to turn.

"We are thrilled to partner with American Standard and appreciate their support to equip every bathroom in our new Women's Center in Harlem," said Ed Morgan, president of the Bowery Mission. "This home will allow us to serve 30 women at a time and will double our services for women in crisis in ."

American Standard was proud to donate plumbing products to outfit the remodeled building housing the new Bowery Mission Women’s Center in Harlem. This included Cadet PRO high efficiency toilets (HET) that use only 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) and feature the Company's exclusive PowerWash bowl cleaning technology and EverClean surface that helps toilets stay cleaner, longer. A combination chapel/classroom space provides a place for residents at the Bowery Mission Women’s Centers to attend special classes and, optionally, have spiritual needs met.

Residents at the Bowery Mission Women’s Centers enjoy comfortable, newly remodeled dorm-style bedrooms which help foster a sense of community.

Up to 30 women can now be accommodated in sunny double bedrooms at the Women’s Centers, thanks to addition of the new Harlem location.

American Standard provided nine Cadet PRO toilets, featuring robust metal parts and an oversized 3-inch flush valve to deliver reliable, low maintenance performance.

The career center features computers, one-on-one counseling and workshops to assist women with finding permanent employment.

The Cadet PRO toilet is designed to virtually eliminate clogs while consuming just 1.28 gallons of water per flush. The casual, inviting styling lends to a residential feeling to the bathrooms as opposed to institutional.

The new Women's Center also offers a sunny backyard space for outdoor events and relaxation.

A fully outfitted community kitchen provides cooking space for residents as well as convenient meeting space.

The new second location of the Bowery Mission Women’s Center opened in June 2014 in New York City’s Harlem Neighborhood.
