COUNTY COUNCIL (A39 TO ROAD, ) (TEMPORARY 10 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2016

NOTICE is hereby given that proposes to make the above Order in pursuance of the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary 10 mph speed limit on the length of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

The Order is required to facilitate highway works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties. The restrictions may not be effected for the whole period but it is anticipated that the roads will be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.

The Order becomes effective on the 16th September 2016 and will remain in force for eighteen months.

The works are expected to start on the 21st September 2016 and to last for 24 days.

SCHEDULE Temporary 10 mph Speed Limit

A39 Williton to Bridgwater Road, From a point 730 metres west of its West Quantoxhead junction with Staple Lane for a distance of 970 metres in an easterly direction.

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL (A39 WILLITON TO BRIDGWATER ROAD, WEST QUANTOXHEAD) (TEMPORARY 10 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2016

SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and after consultation with the Chief Officer of in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984 HEREBY MAKES THE FOLLOWING ORDER:-

1 This Order shall come into operation on the 16th of September 2016 and shall remain in force for eighteen months. The restrictions may not be effected for the whole period but it is anticipated that the road will be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.

The works are expected to start on the 21st September 2016 and to last for 24 days.

2 No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 10 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this order.

3 This order is required to facilitate highway works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties.

4 This Order shall be cited as the Somerset County Council (A39 Bridgwater to Williton Road, West Quantoxhead) (Temporary 10 mph Speed Limit) Order 2016.

For avoiding danger to persons, or other traffic using the road, or any other road, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
